knorrington:
if kenny is confident about anything in his life, he’s confident about the fact that he can make anyone squirm with just a few words. with josiah it’s a little different considering their past, but it still makes kenny smirk nonetheless. it’s not like the boy has to say much because kenny can see the way his body immediately reacts to his presence. “well, i’ll pretend like you’d rather have anyone else here but me,” he tells the boy, ordering himself a coffee before putting his attention back on josie, “you’re cute when you’re trying to lie.”
josiah straightened up a little bit in his seat. he hated how small he always felt around kenny, both physically and like, spiritually, or whatever. stupid british giant. they knew kenny still wholly had him wrapped around his finger, as much as josiah tried to ignore it. but he was a lost cause. “there’s no pretending about it,” he finally replied, surprisingly calm. he tried to force his face to be as stoic as possible, though it kept trying to betray him. like when kenny called him cute. if anything, his blush only got redder. josiah rubbed the back of his neck. “i’m not lying!” he said, though this one was certainly less convincing.
