My job is the worst thing about me.

I work 3 (sometimes more) jobs for the same employer and get paid for 1 of them. I get yelled at, snipped at, passive aggressively eye-rolled at, and more. I work 72 hours a week. Sometimes more. I leave the office at 11pm to drive a half hour home. Sleep for 6 hours. And immediately turn back to go back there to do it all again. The worst part though, is that I choose to be here. I let people treat me like this. I don't want to be someone who gets walked on. Someone who is taken advantage of. This job is becoming my entire identity and I don't want to be a woman who lets bad things happen to her without taking action.

Eliza: Pinterest. The Mom Friend™™ ,really likes DIY projects, & does everything better than you.

Peggy: Ifunny. Commonly overlooked,does everything """ironically""",likes memes.

Angelica: Instagram. #nofilter,rly passive agressive,takes pictures of her food, has an iphone.

Maria: Youtube. Everyone knows her name,has a bit of a bad rep but is cool af, likes cute animals.

I worked in a restaurant for while and a woman climbed past an A board sign, ignored the sign on a the door saying the opening times and trotted on in. When told we were not open she asked why the door was unlocked. My manager explained that it has to be unlocked when people are in the building to comply with fire regulations. Which lead to my favourite exchange with a customer: Woman: But there are no people in here. Manager: Madam. The staff count as people. Woman: That’s ridiculous. *Storms out*

And I’m very humbled and I’m very grateful and gracious but my artist of my life is Beyonce and this album to me, the ‘Lemonade’ album, was just so monumental, Beyonce. It was so monumental. And so well thought out, and so beautiful and soul-bearing, and we got to see another side to you that you don’t always let us see, and we appreciate that, and all us artists here who adore you. And you are our light, and the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my BLACK friends feel, is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves, and I love you. I always have and I always will.
