I hope everyone who's participating is having fun working on their projects. Reminder that works of any medium will be accepted and there are no minimum requirements for participation. Guidelines can be found at this link and in the sidebar.

Guidelines & Rules

Guidelines:

All forms of participation are accepted and encouraged: fics, art, edits, playlists, meta, whatever you’d like. If you create it out of love for this character, then it is welcome in this event.

Each day has a dual theme. Use one, both, or neither. Themes are just suggestions. You can interpret them as broadly as you want, take them wherever inspiration goes, or ignore them entirely–the goal here is really just to celebrate this guy. You may also combine prompts or submit this work to multiple events (provided the other event allows this).

Shipping works (any pairings) are happily accepted, but please ensure that the work focuses on Jonathan.

You may continue a series, start a multichapter fic, or add a new chapter of an ongoing story with this event.

Works with sexual content or potentially disturbing themes are allowed. However, if the work includes mature or potentially upsetting material, please indicate this via appropriate rating and warnings.

Rules:

No AI-generated content of any kind

No hateful speech (including bullying of other users, negative comments about anyone associated with the show, or hateful rhetoric toward any group)

No character or ship bashing

Be respectful toward other users and their submissions

Posts that do not abide by these standards will not be reblogged for the event.

At posting time, please use the hashtag #jonathanbyersweek2026 OR tag @jonathan-byers-week. If your post is not reblogged within a day or so, feel free to send an ask to make sure it’s been seen.

Please also indicate which day your post corresponds to via this tagging system: #JBW26SUN, #JBW26MON, etc.

The tag will be checked for up to two weeks after the event ends, but the collection will remain open. If you would still like your work reblogged after that time, please send an ask.

Posts from participants who have the event organizer blocked literally cannot be reblogged to the event account due to the organizer being unable to see or interact with them. Scheduling Question

I expect to have things set up, with guidelines and themes available, by mid-April. Assuming that themes are available to plan around and start writing for by this date (mid-April), when would be the best posting week for you? I'd like to give sufficient time for people to write, but since I don't anticipate lengthy submissions and know that late summer/beginning of fall can be a busy time for a lot of people, I'm trying to be flexible. (Late August is not great for me, but I can make just about anything else work.)

Earliest would be ~2 months of time to write. Longest is ~5 months, which seems excessive for a modest event such as this, but I figured I'd give the option, and I'd like to know what you think.

Hi there! This is Jonathan Byers Week, a low-pressure, casual Jonathan Byers fan event that will run sometime later this year to celebrate this guy by devoting a whole week to creating new fan works about him. Currently, I'm planning how and when this event will run and what themes we'll use, but I figured I could let you know it's happening.

I welcome input, cheerleading, and general Jonathan Byers geekery. If you want to help brainstorm for the event or chat about your works (or just have a space to talk about Jonathan or hang out), feel free to come join the event server on Discord. The only rules are to be respectful to others, behave like a mature adult, and to actually, you know, like Jonathan.
