Tony heard the heavy boots before he saw the man wearing them, instinctively turning to look at the source of the sound that always drove him wild.
He was not disappointed.
"Geil, sehr geil," he said in his deepest voice and best schoolboy German.
"Ah, you're English," the leatherman pronounced with certainty.
"Nah, 'Straylyan."
The leatherman nodded and looked at Tony with a studied, silent intensity. Waiting for Tony to talk. It would be easier that way to get the information he needed from him. He took a slow pull on his cigar.
Tony took a swig of his beer. Thoughts of rough leather sex crossed his mind. But he knew he wasn't up to it that night. Damn that Spaniard on the train, leading him on like that, then giving him the flick at the station. He was still smarting from the rejection. No amount of hot leather sex tonight was going to take that pain away.
He really felt something for Tiago. And he had thought it was mutual.
"I don't want to give you the brush-off mate, you're genuinely hot as fuck – but I'm not in a good headspace tonight."
The leatherman took another slow pull on the cigar and grunted in an affirming, sympathetic way. Waiting for Tony to continue.
"Yeah, I met this hot Spanish guy on the train here today," Tony said flatly.
"Ahh, yes. Spanish guys are hot."
"Yeah, I thought we really hit it off, but then he got all weird at the station and gave me the flick. God, he yanked my chain, big-time. For nothing, dammit."
"Unfortunate."
"Too right." Tony paused and looked at the stunning muscular man. "That nose ring of yours looks amazing. Always wanted one of those. Now I'm free I might just have to get one."
"Free?"
"Just retired from the Navy."
The leatherman nodded. "Will you be long in Munich?"
Tony took another swig of beer. "Nah, heading off tomorrow arvo. I’ll probably hop on a sightseeing bus in the morning and take in the Olympic Park and the BMW museum – never actually visited them before."
More valuable information.
"You will be going to Berlin, of course. Every gay man goes to Berlin."
Tony permitted himself a small smile. "Natürlich. But maybe not straight away. I've got a rail pass. Never visited Dresden. Dunno, got a friend in Leipzig. Then again, maybe go the long way up to Cologne and across from there. Just see what trains are actually running tomorrow."
"The train system is not what it used to be. Where is our German efficiency?"
"Oh mate, even your broken ones are better than ours."
The leatherman eased the conversation back toward what he actually wanted. He studied Tony for a moment. "You have the look of a man who knows his way around a scene. Not just Munich, I think. Berlin too."
"Yeah, I know a spot or two," Tony said.
"Everyone knows Berghain, of course. But that's not really your crowd, I think."
"Nah, not my thing. Berghain's not really leather, is it – more just everyone and everything at once. I'm more Schöneberg than Friedrichshain – you know, Woof bar for the bears, or Prinzknecht for an early bevvie, then Mutschmanns or New Action. Bull Bar after that, if I'm desperate."
"New Action is a heavy leather bar." What the leatherman implied was obvious: Tony would not just be wearing a bar vest in New Action.
"Yeah, I dressed down tonight, just the bar vest. I was hoping that damned Spaniard would show up and I wasn't too sure how much into gear he was. Though he sure sparked up when I showed him a few pics of me in uniform."
Tony didn't notice that the questions had all been so easy to answer. There was something about the quiet, unhurried way the man smoked and listened – no rush, no agenda, nothing like Tiago’s sudden coldness at the station – that made it easy to keep talking.
"Something tells me you don't need to go to Bull Bar all that often."
Tony smiled a little. "Yeah, I usually find I get what I need at New Action." He finished his beer and stood up. "Well, I'm headin’ off. Damn, I wish I was in a better mood – a hot hot leather man, a man who knows how to wear his gear, is something, someone, to... yeah..." He let his words trail off.
The leatherman wasn't disappointed. Whether Tony came home with him or not had never been the point.
Tony had, without knowing it, sealed his own fate.

Alton lounged comfortably at a small marble table on the bustling Piazza della Signoria, soaking in the warm Italian sun with a fresh espresso. His muscular frame stretched out in the chair, shiny gold shirt hugging every ridge of his chest as he people-watched, with that cocky message in the chest that left no one indifferent… just as he had expected.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a massive figure walking through the square. That man looked familiar… very familiar.
"Wait..." He thought. "Is that... 302?!"
Alton was right.
It was SERVE-302, though he looked slightly different today. He was not wearing the usual SERVE uniform, but rather more human clothes, somehow blending into the elegant Florentine surroundings like he’d been built for them. Still, the sheer size and presence were unmistakable.
Alton grinned, not overthinking it. Screw it, he thought, the view’s still goddamn hot.
"Yo, SERVE-302, bro!" he called out loudly, waving his thick arm. "No fucking way! What are you doing in Florence, dude? Get over here, man. Sit your ass down with me!"
SERVE-302 turned, clearly surprised to see the loud-mouthed jock there. After a brief pause, the big man changed direction and approached the table with his usual confident, measured stride.
Upon reaching Alton, the two greeted each other with a quick, honest hug and sat down at the table.
"What are you doing here, bro?"
"You know me, man! There is always one SERVE mission or another to carry out. Work, work." The drone explained with a smile. "At least this time I got to come to a place as great as Florence! And what are YOU doing here? Any Golden Army match in town?"
"No way! I've come to relax and have a good time, you know me! And... and..." Alton was left speechless when he suddenly noticed something was off. "Wait.. How come you're talking like a normal person?! And what's with that smile?! You're not my bro 302... are you an impostor?!"
"Hahahaha, relax, man." 302 exclaimed after an honest laugh. "I’ll spare you the boring details, but I’m using a personality module that emulates human behavior... specifically, a variant that I think really fits your vibe." He added, puffing out his chest and flexing his bicep just as he had seen Alton do hundreds of times.
"Bro, if it matches that text on your t-shirt... you bet! Roar!"
[ . . . ]
The afternoon sun bathed Piazza della Signoria in golden light while they continued chatting. The two massive, muscular men turned more than a few heads, but neither seemed to notice.
SERVE-302, in his tight black shirt, sat with perfect posture, hands folded, studying the jock in the shiny gold shirt opposite him. Alton, still buzzing with energy, leaned forward, gesturing wildly with both hands.
"Bro! Dude, I swear I’m like, totally recovered, man. That red pup barely got a scratch in thanks to you. You showed up like some kinda badass superhero or whatever. I still can’t believe it, 302. You’re legit the real deal, man!"

Alton kept talking, barely pausing for breath. SERVE-302 listened quietly, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly in amusement. Their lives were very different, and yet they seemed to connect well.
Eventually Alton circled back, rubbing the back of his neck. “Look… I never really properly thanked you, bro. Not just for saving me. I mean… when you came by my place after? Fuck, dude. Your scent. That thick, manly musk just… stayed in my apartment for days. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Every time I caught a whiff I got so fucking hard I had to jerk off. Like, multiple times a day, man. Picturing your big hands sliding all over this body, owning me…”
SERVE-302’s eyes darkened with heat. He stood up slowly, towering over the table.
"You talk too much, jockboy." He said in a deep, resonant voice.
In one smooth motion he pulled Alton up by the back of his neck, took off his sunglasses. and kissed him. Deep, hungry, and commanding. Alton melted into it instantly, a low moan escaping into SERVE-302’s mouth. When they finally broke apart, SERVE-302’s voice was low and steady.
"Tell me what you really want, jockboy."
Alton’s eyes were glassy with lust. “I want Daddy to show me where it goes… I want to be on my knees sucking that big Daddy cock like a good boy.”
Right there on the piazza, Alton dropped to his knees in front of 302, hands greedily reaching for 302's glutes while he pressed his face against the prominent bulge in the black shorts, inhaling deeply, visibly intoxicated by the scent.
SERVE-302 let out a low growl of approval but gently stopped him, tilting Alton’s chin up with strong fingers.
"If we keep this up, we're going to end up at the police station, my jockboy." He spoke, unable to hide his rapid breathing and the fact that he was struggling to contain himself. "My hotel is close. Be a good jockboy and wait."
Alton followed like an eager puppy the whole way, chattering nonstop. "This is so fucking hot, bro. Me and Daddy finally doing this for real? I’m so ready, man. My dick’s been twitching just thinking about you—"
Halfway down a narrow side street, SERVE-302 had enough. He pushed Alton against the warm stone wall, pinning him there with his much larger body.
"You talk too much, jockboy. Be still. Be a good boy."
SERVE-302 kissed him again, tongue invading his mouth, while his free hand slipped into his own shorts. When he pulled it back out, his thick fingers were shiny with precum and heavy with his musk. He pressed his palm firmly over Alton’s mouth.
"Breathe deep, jockboy."
Alton’s eyes rolled back in pure bliss. He inhaled greedily, licking and sucking at SERVE-302’s fingers like a man starved, whimpering against the dominant hand while staring up at his Daddy with lustfull eyes.
The smell and taste of 302's precum seems to turn Alton obedient in a way he never expected to feel. His cock get's instantly hard the moment being called "jockboy".
"You like it, jockboy?"
"Yes, sir." He mubled with 302's hand still over his mouth. The word 'sir' fell from Alton's lips so naturally that it made his bliss-drenched mind wonder how it was possible he could have called 302 anything else until that moment.
"Good boy." 302's deep tone betrayed pure satisfaction. His body was reacting just as expected, and his hard-on pressed firmly against Alton’s crotch.
[ . . . ]
When they arrived at the hotel, it was already dusk.
The hotel room door had barely clicked shut before clothes were torn off amid grunts and laughter. SERVE-302 took complete control, using his powerful body to claim the loud-mouthed jock exactly how he needed.
Both men were tireless. The more 302 demanded of his jockboy, the more Alton gave of himself... even craving more. A loop of pure pleasure that kept both of them awake almost all night.
Alton moaned and begged the entire time, lost in pleasure, until both men finally collapsed in a sweaty, satisfied heap. SERVE-302 pulled Alton against his broad, hairy chest, and they drifted off to sleep tangled together.
The next morning, soft sunlight filtered through the curtains. SERVE-302 woke first. He pressed slow, lingering kisses along Alton’s neck and shoulders until the jock stirred with a sleepy grin. One thing led to another, and SERVE-302 took him again... slow and deep this time, savoring every sound Alton made.
[ . . . ]
Afterward they moved to the private terrace for breakfast, the breathtaking view of Florence and the Duomo behind them. Both men were shirtless, muscles gleaming in the morning light. Alton, now in tight gold shorts, kept stealing glances and grinning like an idiot.
"So… you heading back home today too?" Alton asked between bites of croissant.
"Correct." SERVE-302 replied calmly, sipping his coffee. "Duty calls, you know. But this… was highly satisfactory, jockboy."
Alton laughed. "Understatement of the century, bro. We are one hundred percent doing this again. Like, soon. I need more of that Daddy treatment... sir."
SERVE-302 allowed himself honest, small smile and reached across the table to squeeze Alton’s thick thigh. "You bet, jockboy."
Back at the hotel room door, SERVE-302 pulled Alton in for one last deep, possessive kiss, his hand possessively gripping the back of the jock’s neck.
"Be good until next time." He murmured against Alton’s lips.
"Always for you, Daddy," Alton whispered back, a little dazed and very happy.
With one final glance over his shoulder, Alton headed off toward the station, already replaying every filthy, perfect moment in his head.

"It HAS to be here! Somewhere!" Alton said, looking around intently, searching for something he couldn't find.
"Affirmative." said SERVE-302, beside him. The drone was also searching the area, though in a more analytical and cold manner. "Our analysis of the latest clue seems efficient and correct, and just as Alton deduced, this forest fits perfectly."
"Yeah... but, where?"
302 and Alton were on a 'mission' different from the usual SERVE tasks and Golden Army training sessions. This time, it was a scavenger hunt, a recreational activity organized by both groups in which one member from each teamed up to find clues and win the prize.
A simple yet entertaining activity to strengthen the bonds between the two groups... though that didn't mean it was going to be a walk in the park.
"Oh, damn..." Alton exclaimed.
"Query: What?"
"The clue... it said something about not letting the forest hide the branches, remember?"
"Affirmative."
"It has to be..."
The athlete and the drone began to scan the branches in search of something unusual.
"There!" Alton exclaimed, pointing to one of the highest branches.
"Affirmative. Alton found the next clue." 302 stated.
"But it's really high up..." Alton said. "And those branches don't look strong enough to climb up there."
"Suggestion: If Alton climbs onto 302's shoulders, he should be able to reach the next clue." The drone explained this after analyzing the potential density of the branches and the combined height of itself and the athlete.
"Great idea! But, are you sure? I'm heavier than I look."
"Affirmative." the drone replied. "302's biosynthetic body is much heavier than that of a human of similar musculature and size. If this drone were to land on Alton's shoulders, it could cause him injury. It is the most advisable course of action."
"Okay, bro, if you say so..."
After brief planning and thanks to Alton's athletic skills, the athlete was soon standing on the shoulders of the drone, which maintained its balance with remarkable efficiency.
"A little more to the right... no, not that much! Wait... almost there..."
But while Alton struggled to reach the envelope, or knock it down by shaking the branches, 302 continued to follow his companion's instructions, but it was getting distracted by something else.
Alton's musk.
Being so close to its companion's crotch, it was impossible to avoid his scent. That, combined with his powerful muscles... 302 was absolutely certain Alton never skipped leg day at the gym... kept the drone's mind in a state of pleasant distraction.
Something that had not escaped Alton's attention.
"Hey, buddy, can you hear me? You can put me down now. I've got it"
"Acknowledged."
Upon safely reaching the ground, Alton remained very close to the SERVE drone, which kept an arm on his shoulder, pulling him even closer.
"We should see what's inside... the next clue..." Alton said, lost in thought, as he gazed at 302's lips.
"Affirmative." the drone replied, and although its tone was cold and emotionless, it was clear that it was studying the athlete's face with interest.
"But... you know... I can think of other, more fun and entertaining things to do to... you know, bond, bro."
"Affirmative." 302 replied. "Query: what will happen with the competition?"
"Seriously, 302, who cares?"
"Agreed."
And then, without another word, 302 pulled Alton toward him and planted a kiss on his arousing lips. The athlete responded with passion.
As for the scavenger hunt, another team would likely win it and take home some sort of prize, but 302 and Alton didn't care. After all, the goal was to strengthen their bond.
And they certainly succeeded in doing so, and then some.

A special thanks to @serve-302 for this highly enjoyable collaboration!
The journey was dragging on, with about four hours still left until Munich, but Tiago didn't mind at all. The train was comfortable, the weather was pleasant, and he was happily reading a newly released, illustrated edition of one of his favorite books.
After traveling to Paris from his native Spain to see the City of Light, Tiago had decided to take a train to Munich to begin the journey through Germany he had long been longing for.
He was in a good mood.
Then the train made a quick stop at a station.
/ - - - /
Tony had just boarded the train and was looking for his seat.
He had been waiting at Saarbrücken station for hours. His train was so delayed that the next train from Paris arrived before his did, allowing him to exchange his ticket.
But he was already more than accustomed to the constant delays and problems on the German railway network. It wasn't his first time in the country, after all. He was a well-traveled and worldly man. And though his native Australia lay half a world away, Europe was no stranger to him.
He wasn't in a good mood, but at least he was already on a train.
When he reached his assigned seat, he saw that the window seat next to his was already taken. When he glanced at the man sitting there, his mood improved.
"Hello, mate." Tony said in a friendly tone.
/ - - - /
Tiago was so immersed in the book that he hadn't even noticed someone standing next to him. When he turned toward Tony, he was half-annoyed at having been interrupted during one of the best parts of the book, but…
"..."
"Hello?" Tony insisted.
"..."
"Oh, sorry. Do - you - speak - English?" Tony inquired slowly, concerned and a bit disheartened that such an attractive man didn't speak his language.
"What...? Oh, fuck!" Tiago exclaimed with a Spanish accent, snapping out of his reverie. "Sorry! Yes, I speak English. I was… I was…" Tiago was trying, without success, to find the words to explain that he had been completely spaced out ever since he’d seen that handsome and hot Australian man.
"Tony. Nice to meet you." The Australian said with a smile, extending his hand and sparing the Spaniard the awkward moment.
Calmer and grateful, Tiago flashed a sincere smile.
"Tiago. Likewise." He replied, shaking his hand.
Almost without realizing it, Tiago closed the book he had been reading and put it away in his carry-on luggage. After all, he had found something more interesting to occupy himself with.
/ - - - /
As the minutes ticked by, the two of them hit it off almost instantly. They shared common interests in history, mythology, architecture, and art, yet enough differences remained to keep their conversations from ever growing dull or predictable.
Both were enjoying each other's company.
"This list of recommended restaurants is absolute rubbish." Tony remarked as he flicked through the Munich guidebook Tiago had bought for the trip. Since he had traveled extensively in Germany, Tony offered to go over the guide and share some insider tips with the Spaniard. "I'll jot down some better places for you. If you want, I can take you to…"
As Tony named establishments and streets Tiago had never heard of, it didn't escape him that Tony seemed to have just signed on to go out for drinks with him.
And he smiled.
/ - - - /
"No way! Is that you?! For real?!"
"You bet! Chief Petty Officer Tomlinson, Royal Australian Navy, at your service! Although I am retired now. Behind me is the HMAS Hobart, which…"
Amidst laughter and anecdotes, Tony talked about his past in the Navy. Although Taigo had never been particularly interested in the military, he hung on Tony's every word and discovered that he liked picturing him in uniform. Wondering what he would think if he asked him to send the photo to his phone.
/ - - - /
Tiago’s career as a radio and television broadcaster wasn’t as impressive as Tony’s in the Navy, but at least they had a good time while Tiago showed him some of the photos he had taken during his trip to Paris.
As he scrolled through the photos in his phone's gallery, Tiago came across some showing him shirtless by the banks of the Seine, displaying his hairy chest. In that moment, pure instinct took over, and Tony automatically slid his hand onto Tiago’s thigh.
Although Tiago noticed, he let it slide, and it wasn't until Tony squeezed the Spaniard's thigh upon seeing a particularly arousing photo that he realized what he was doing.
"Oh, fuck! Sorry! I... I didn't...! I... I... fuck...!" Tony stammered, looking more embarrassed than nervous. "I didn't mean to..., I don't know what to say, I..."
Tiago then grabbed Tony's hand by the wrist.
"At ease, Chief." Tiago said. His voice sounded deeper, more guttural, and at the same time commanding... the voice of someone in charge.
Then he placed Tony's hand back on his thigh.
"Permission granted. You can leave it there."
"A... aye, aye, sir. Holding station." Tony replied with a smile, surprised and aroused, gently stroking Tiago’s leg with his thumb while keeping his hand firmly planted there.
/ - - - /
After a journey that ultimately felt too short, Tiago and Tony arrived at the Munich train station and stepped off the train, unaware that they were being watched.
The stranger kept his eyes on them, studying every movement, every interaction, every glance. And the more he watched them, the more he liked what he saw.
The stranger took his mobile phone out of his pocket and used speed dial. The person he was calling... the owner of his very being... was programmed into number "1", as it could not be otherwise.
The ringtone sounded once… twice… three times…
Then someone answered the call, but didn't say anything.
The stranger wasted no time saying who he was or where he was, for he was there obeying his owner's orders, exactly where he was expected to be, and he had no intention of wasting his owner's time.
"Master, I have found two perfect candidates." He said in native German. "I am leaving the station to continue observing them." He fell silent while his owner gave him some instruction or advice, or simply acknowledged his report. "Yes, Master." Then, without further ado, he hung up.
He put his phone back in his pocket and set out to follow Tony and Tiago, slipping through the crowd like smoke, as if they were unable to perceive him.
/ - - - /
"Well, this is where we part ways." Tiago said.
"Wait... what?"
Tony was in shock.
Tiago had been acting very strangely since a few minutes before the train arrived at the station… he seemed sad, kept his distance, and barely took part in the conversation… but this really took the cake.
As they headed toward the station exit, Tony had hoped to ask Tiago for his phone number and make plans to meet up later, but Tiago had cut him short and was saying goodbye with a simple, cold handshake... as if the pleasant hours they had spent on the train had never happened.
"Oh... ok." Tony decided that if Tiago wasn't interested, he wouldn't press the issue, so he shook his hand half-heartedly. "I hope you enjoy your trip through Germany."
"Thanks, you too." Tiago said, his voice almost breaking.
Then they went off in different directions.
As he headed to his hotel, Tony kept wondering what could have gone wrong. Had he done something to offend Tiago? Was there some cultural gap that he’d completely missed?
Or was Tiago simply crazy?
On the other side of the station, waiting for a bus, Tiago was tormenting himself over what he had just done... and the opportunity he had just thrown away.
But above all, over having offended and hurt Tony.
/ - - - /
That night, Tony went out for a drink at a leather bar. Although he told himself it was to have fun and forget what had happened with Tiago, he was lying to himself, for in truth, he was hoping to run into him by chance.
Sadly, it didn't happen.
What Tony didn't know was that someone else had run into him at the bar… and was watching him from the shadows, enjoying a fine cigar and satisfied with how his plans were unfolding.
...
To be continued.

After spending several hours searching for the drone potentially responsible for the disappearance of the Swiss chocolate cookies at the city's SERVE facility, SERVE-302 concludes that the individual is not there and returns to its mountain home to reflect. The drone is certain it is on the verge of solving the case, yet the suspect continues to elude 302.
The mountainous, wooded area where 302's current residence is located is as peaceful and pleasant as ever. Only the sounds of nature can be heard on this sunny yet cool day.
Everything seems normal, until 302 opens the door.
The floor, which was perfectly clean when 302 left, is now covered in what look like… crumbs. But they aren't scattered randomly; instead, they form a trail leading inside.
While 302 trusts those crumbs aren't from ITS cookies... since that would be an unforgivable crime for which it couldn't conceive a punishment severe enough... the drone leaves its bag in the living room and begins to follow the trail of crumbs.
The drone continues moving toward an area of the cottage that is still empty and unused, since the move took place recently, reaching the door of a room intended for storage.
On the door, a note reads "302's". A note exactly like the one that had been on 302's box of Swiss chocolate cookies to indicate they were the drone's property and for its consumption.
302 wonders what it might find there, given that the room is already its property and there shouldn't be anything inside. Realizing it is obvious that 302 won't get any answers without entering, the drone decisively opens the door.
SERVE-714
714 sitting on a huge stack of Swiss chocolate cookie boxes, exactly 302's favorite brand, with a bowl of cookies placed suggestively atop one of 302's favorite parts of the drone.
"It has taken 302 a long time to find its bikkies." 714 states. "This drone trusts on the entire contents of this room being sufficient compensation for the effort."
"Query: The entire content of this room?" 302 asks.
"Correct. 302's note is on the door."
302 moves toward 714, plunges its hand deep into the bowl... pressing the bottom against the drone’s crotch, causing it to moan softly... and grabs one of the cookies.
302 wants answers.
And it plans to get them from 714.
But that can wait.
For the moment, all 302 can think about is bingeing on what it has found in its room... and maybe eating a few Swiss chocolate cookies on the side too.

"Query: so, what is this drone being accused of?" SERVE-903 asked. Like SERVE-901, the drone was a police officer when it was human, and although 903 has been completely obedient since its assimilation and reprogramming, its former cocky attitude sometimes surfaces.
SERVE-302 sighed.
The drone knew that if it went straight for 903 and made it to kneel before its co-leader, it would become completely submissive and drop the tough-guy act, but that wouldn't help solve the mystery.
"302 isn't accusing 903 of anything." The drone spoke in a cold and calculating, yet conciliatory, tone. "302 just wants to know who might have taken its Swiss chocolate cookies, and the latest clues point to 903."
"Interesting." 903 murmurs.
A witness claims that 903's fingers are stained with what might be chocolate, so 302 has come to check." The drone explains. "Request: Show your fingers to this drone, 903."
903 appears reluctant, but the possibility of disobeying a direct order from one of the SERVE leaders does not exist in any drone's programming.
"Here are 903's fingers, 302."
"They are stained."
"Affirmative, 302."
"Query: Are those chocolate stains?"
"Query: Why doesn't 302 check it for itself?"
903 holds out its hands toward its leader for it to examine.
302 picks up one of them and smells it closely.
But soon, it pulls his hand away from its nose in revulsion.
"This is not chocolate." 302 states.
"Correct. It is bitter black coffee." 903 informs. "The stains on 903's gloves are due to the fact that this drone spent part of the day trying to fix the common room's coffee maker and cleaning the filters."
It makes sense.
Another facet of the human being 903 once was, and which survived the assimilation, was its taste for coffee as bitter and black as a charred log, a brew 302 finds disgusting.
"302 is aware that this drone’s taste receptors are tuned to bitter flavors, and the sweet Swiss chocolate in 302's cookies would overwhelm those sensors."
"Acknowledged. 302 realizes that this lead was a dead end and needs to find a new line of investigation. 302 expresses gratitude for 903's collaboration."
"Acnowledged. 903 trusts 302 will find his bikkies soon."
...
"Request: Repeat that last phrase, 903."
"Affirmative. 903 trusts 302 will find his cookies soon"
"... Acknowledged."
As it leaves the room with a decent coffee (not the swill 903 likes to drink), 302 wonders what could have prompted the drone to call cookies "bikkies" and then forget about it. Some kind of subliminal signal?
There's only one way to find out.
And there are very few drones that would use the word "bikkies."

It makes a habit of patrolling the city where it is stationed at least once a day to ensure everything is in order. At first, the humans find it odd, but over time, they end up befriending the drone and even growing fond of it.
When 901 returns to the SERVE facilities and reaches the waiting area outside its office, the drone encounters an unexpected visitor: SERVE-302, co-leader of SERVE.
"Greetings, SERVE-302. What can this drone do for its co-leader."
Before being assimilated into SERVE, 901 was a police officer, and before that, a soldier. Sometimes, traits are so deeply ingrained in a human's personality that even drone reprogramming cannot completely eliminate them, and the fact that 901 salutes its superior in military style is a prime example.
"At ease, drone". 302 states. Having been 901's recruiter and mentor, 302 knows that this command is the only way for the drone to relax in the presence of its co-leader.
302 fully trusts 901's honesty, so it chooses to ask directly.
"This drone is getting straight to the point. Query: Has 901 taken or consumed the contents of a box labeled -302's- from the kitchens at this SERVE facility?"
"Negative, 302." 901 answers without hesitation. "Query: What was the nature of the content, and why is this drone being questioned about the incident in question?"
"The box contained chocolate cookies… Swiss chocolate cookies." 302 pauses as it recalls the delicious taste of the cookies it has lost. "Leonard, the human intern, mentioned that 901 likes chocolate."
"Acknowledged." 901 replies. "But that is incorrect. This drone understands where the error lies, though. If 302 accompanies 901, it will show its co-leader."
"Affirmative. Proceed."
901 opens its office door and leads 302 to its desk. The drone then minimizes the open programs on the computer and opens a meticulously organized spreadsheet.
"This is an organized record of everything 901 consumes over the course of days, weeks, and months, all detailed precisely. Calories, fats, proteins… this drone does not consume any food outside its personalized diet. Chocolate, or sweets in general, is not included."
"Acknowledged... and impressive, 901."
"Acknowledged with gratitude, co-leader."
"But then, what was Leonard referring to?"
"Most likely to this." 901 replies, pointing to one of the cells in his spreadsheet. "Protein bars. They are brown and, if not examined closely, could look like chocolate, especially to a gourmand human like Leonard."
"Acknowledged. 901 must be correct." Although 302 is satisfied with the explanation regarding the drone, there is still a question to be resolved. "Query: What drone could have taken 302's cookies?"
"This drone doesn't have the answer, co-leader." 901 states. "But this morning, it saw that SERVE-903 had some brown stains on the fingers of his uniform gloves."
"Acknowedged. This drone will go to question 903."
Humans with questionable taste in sweets, a drone obsessed with its diet, and now a pair of silver gloves stained with what might be chocolate.
The mystery deepens.

While pondering who might be responsible for the disappearance of his Swiss chocolate cookies, SERVE-302 decides to start by asking the only human present at the SERVE facility at that moment.
According to his work profile, Leonard S. is 25 years old, graduated from university with excellent grades, and is currently interning at SERVE as part of a joint project between the Hive and the local government.
SERVE has no real need for human workers, but this type of activity helps eliminate prejudices by allowing humans to get to know and interact with SERVE firsthand, while also enabling some humans to develop an interest in becoming a drone.
Knock, knock.
"SERVE-302, it's me, Leonard. Can I come in, sir?" A voice spoke from the other side of the door to the common meeting room where the drone was.
"Affirmative. Proceed."
The door opens, and Leonard enters the room.
302 has already interacted with the human in the recent past, both regarding some of his tasks and in answering questions about SERVE and the lives of drones.
The human is a curious combination of a jock’s physique and an engineer’s brain. 302 believes he has the potential to be an excellent addition to the Hive, but that is something Leonard must decide, without interference or manipulation.
"Did you want to see me, 302, sir?"
"Affirmative. Once again, this drone informs you that you can simply call it 302. SERVE drones have no need for honorary titles. Come in and close the door, Leonard." 302 asked.
"Have I done something wrong, si... 302?"
"Negative. 302 is working on an individual task and needs to ask Leonard a few minor questions." The drone explains. "Your performance reports state that you often brings chocolate to work. Is that correct? The reports also note that you only eat it during breaks, don't be concerned.
"Y... yeah, that's correct, si... 302." Leonard replies, not without realizing how strange the question is. "Do you… do you want me to bring you some chocolate, 302? Is your blood sugar dropping, or something like that?"
"302's health is at optimal levels, although this drone expresses gratitude for the question. Query: Might you have any chocolate cookies, Leonard?"
As is typical for a SERVE drone, 302's expression barely changed, even though the drone was scrutinizing Leonard for any sign of nervousness or fear.
"What? No, it's not really my thing… wait, let me show you."
Leonard steps out of the room for a moment and goes to his desk, which is not far away, returning in a couple of minutes with two chocolate bars that he hands to 302.
"I prefer this kind of chocolate." The human explains.
302 is holding a bar of mint chocolate and another of orange chocolate. The drone knows that in many European countries (including northwestern Spain, the country 302 is from) they are considered true delicacies. But for the drone, mixing chocolate with those flavors is an outrage, and it takes all its lack of expression to suppress a look of disgust.
"You can… you can keep them if you want, 302." Leonard offers.
"Negative, Leonard. Although this drone appreciates the offer. 302 understands that it was a strange meeting, but you have assisted this drone with its task. You may return to your usual duties. 302 expresses gratitude for your collaboration."
"Oh... ok then. You are welcome. By the way, maybe you should ask 901, I've seen it eating chocolate cookies sometimes. Bye." Leonard says as he leaves the room with more questions and intrigue than answers. Although he is already accustomed to drones appearing strange in the eyes of humans, that meeting took the cake.
302 decides to believe Leonard… no one capable of enjoying mint chocolate and orange chocolate could appreciate the drone's Swiss chocolate cookies enough to want to make off with them.
But now it has a lead to follow… and a drone to find: 901.

"And with this plan, 302 is certain that the matter will be resolved in an optimal way for SERVE and for your city, Mr. Mayor." SERVE-302 says to its computer screen while on a video call.
"I agree, 302. Thank you for finding a way to make this possible." Says the man on the screen. "But I'm afraid I have to hang up. Andrew has been asking me for a while to stop working and come down for dinner. You know how he is."
"Affirmative, 302 is aware." The drone confirms. "302 asks you to communicate to your husband that this drone sends its regards and expresses gratitude towards him for his patience during this long afternoon."
"You can be sure of that, 302. And you know Andrew insists you come over for dinner soon, on the condition that there’s no talk of work, of course." The man on the screen says with a chuckle.
"Acknowledged. 302 is aware. 302 will visit your city soon. For now, optimal rest of the evening, Mr. Mayor."
"You too, 302. Bye."
[ ... ... ... ]
After finishing a hard, exhausting, yet successful workday, 302 walks through the corridors of the SERVE facility from its office to the common areas.
The corridors and offices are filled with SERVE drones performing various tasks, as well as arriving from or departing for different missions, alongside some SERVE ON-TRIAL drones adapting to their new existence.
But 302 doesn't want to stop.
It has a goal in mind.
Upon reaching the kitchens, the drone quickly spots its target: a simple cardboard box with a post-it note reading "302's." A simple cardboard box that 302 has been thinking about opening all day.
The drone carefully places the box on the countertop.
But when 302 opens it… it's empty.
Only a few crumbs and a broken piece remain of the box of delicious Swiss chocolate cookies that had been sent to 302. An unexpected and suboptimal situation.
SERVE drones are one, a Hive mind, they share everything.
But taking 302's cookies without permission?
That's crossing the line.
And 302 was going to get to the bottom of the mystery.
The mystery of the missing chocolate cookies.

Pride moves at different paces depending on the place.
Some towns celebrate it for a whole month, others for a week, others even for just one day. What matters is celebrating it, however long it lasts.
As SERVE-302 drives, the drone can see the city it's in beginning to take down its decorations, since all the official events and celebrations are over. Many will surely continue celebrating at home for a few more days, but the streets are slowly returning to their usual look.
But 302 isn't driving to see the city, but to get out of it.
After the hustle and bustle of Pride celebrations, a period of rest and relaxation is just what it needs, and for that, 302 has decided to travel to the mountain house, about a four-hour drive away.
Peace and quiet, with no one around.
After a slightly longer journey than expected due to a few stops along the way, 302 finally arrives at its destination. The mountains provide an incredible landscape, and the lake extends directly to the back of the house.
Perfection.
The house is wonderful. Two floors fully equipped with SERVE technology, yet perfectly preserving the essence of the original mountain cottage.
302 is even considering moving there as its new residence.
It's the peace and quiet 302 has been longing for.
So calm.
...
But that's enough peace for now.
Time to call the perfect drone for some housewarming fun.
And once SERVE-714 arrives, they will have fun in each and every room and on every surface of the house, until it only smells of rubber and pleasure.

As SERVE-302 walks through the quiet hallway of the apartment building, the drone notices the contrast with the bustle outside, where hundreds or thousands of people are celebrating Pride Month to the fullest.
Only its footsteps, perfectly coordinated and efficient, echo in the desert hallway.
Meanwhile, inside one of those apartments, Carl is sitting with the television off and the windows closed, enjoying a bit of peace while answering some unimportant messages.
Carl sighs heavily, releasing some of the tension he hadn't even realized he had throughout his body. If it weren't mid-morning and he had only recently gotten up, he would go back to bed.
Knock, knock
With an exaggerated grunt and wondering who it could be at this hour, Carl gets up to open the door.
"3... 302..."
"Greetings, Carl."
The human looks the drone up and down, surprised to see it there. It's as well-groomed as ever, its rubber suit perfectly polished, reflecting the sunlight in a way that almost seems magical.
He's known 302 for so long…
Oddly enough, it's carrying a paper bag from a supermarket.
"What are you doing here?" Carl asks. "I already told you the other day that I don't plan on going out to celebrate Pride. Not this year… I can't. My heart is with my community, but I…"
"Affirmative." 302 interrupts. "302 remembers. This drone is not here to try to convince you to go out and party, Carl. 302's purpose in this location is to visit you."
"Ah... Well, you know you turn me on so much, but… it's not the right time, not after…"
"Carl is wrong again." 302 interrupts again, trying to prevent the human from reliving bad memories. "During our last meeting you were very clear about your emotional state at this time, Carl, and this drone respects that."
"Then...?"
"As stated before, 302's purpose in this location is to visit you."
Carl is speechless.
302 raises the supermarket bag to eye level.
"302 has brought chips and snacks."
"Okay, fine, come in." Carl gives in with a sincere smile.
The drone and the human sit on the sofa.
"So, you don't have any plan up your sleeve?"
"Negative, Carl." The drone replies. "Even if you're not in the mood, that doesn't mean you can't celebrate Pride with this drone, in whatever way you like."
"Well… I was thinking of spending the afternoon watching sitcoms with absurd gay characters, just to laugh at how bad they are. And then a romantic comedy to let off some steam with a few tears."
"302 thinks that sounds like the perfect plan to celebrate Pride."
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely." 302 replies.
Carl doesn't say anything else. He simply turns on the TV and gets comfortable on the 302's always-welcoming rubber-clad chest.
He sighs again.
But this time with genuine enjoyment and peace.

True strength comes from the freedom to embrace oneself. This week, SERVE joins a global celebration of identity, love, and the unbreakable spirit of the Pride community. Pride is for everyone. Every person and every drone deserves the right to live authentically and to express what they carry deep inside.
The doors of SERVE are not untouched by the celebration. Seeing the community come together, vibrant and unapologetic, transforms the landscape into a powerful statement of solidarity. It represents a hope for safety, acceptance, and a future where no one has to hide, symbolized by a rainbow flag.
Pride has always been about connection. It is about stepping out into the world and finding the people who understand your journey, who celebrate your uniqueness, and who welcome others with open arms.
When we break down walls and choose openness over isolation, we build chosen families. It reminds us that the heartbeat of this movement is companionship and the beautiful diversity of the connections people make along the way.
The laughter, the shared glances, and the absolute freedom radiating from everyone is inspiring. No only for those already standing in the light, but also for everyone still searching for their place, everyone holding a hidden truth, and everyone who believes in a world built on love and acceptance.
There is a spot right here next to SERVE drones and humans, waiting just for one more. There is no need to walk alone
OPTIMAL PRIDE MONTH.

SERVE-302 and SERVE-714 decide to get out of the Surface Roving Vehicle and investigate the strange structure they have found. Thermal readings indicate that the interior glow is not caused by a heat source, such as a fire or volcanic magma, which raises more questions than answers.
The rock structure appears stable, as if deliberately excavated. Although it seems safe to continue, both SERVE drones remain vigilant.
At the end of the tunnel, the drones find a semicircular room with a rock in the center, from which light seems to emerge, illuminating the entire structure.
At the far end of the room, a statue resembling a humanoid figure, but with a lower body like a tree, stands solemnly. Near the statue are some decorations carved into the rock, reminiscent of plant motifs.
"Query: a temple?" 302 says, breaking the silence.
"So far we have not detected any sign of intelligent life or beings capable of using tools." 714 states. "This place is rudimentary, but it's obvious that it's not a natural formation."
Slowly but surely, and without letting their guard down, both drones head towards the statue.
"The material doesn't seem to be stone." 302 says after superficially examining the figure, trying not to damage it. "It's more like… a fossilized plant."
"Query: An ancient living being, then?"
"It is possible, but..."
Zzzzzzz...
A faint buzzing sound interrupts 302.
And the holes in the 'head' of that creature light up.
"Warning, we must..."
"Wait." 302 interrupts. "Don't make sudden movements."
The creature begins to move and gesture around the drones in a way that is far more fluid than its fossilized appearance would suggest. It seems to move slowly and delicately, as if trying not to frighten 302 and 714.
"714 thinks the humanoid is trying to communicate."
"Query: How?" 302 asks as the creature continues to examine the drone closely. "It is not emitting any sound, at least not at a frequency we can perceive, and its gestures do not appear complex or patterned."
"The smells." 714 explains. "The air around us keeps changing its smell. 714 suspects that the source of these smells is the humanoid, and that it uses them to transmit information. To communicate."
"Interesting." 302 adds. "It is a logical deduction considering its apparently plant-like nature. But we lack the means to analyze the smell patterns and establish communication."
"Unfortunately, that's correct, 302."
Suddenly, there are no more changes in the air's smell, and the creature stops gesturing, almost as if it had realized at the same time as the drones that they couldn't understand its 'language'.
But then, it grabs 302 by the chin.
302's first instinct is to reject it, and even defend itself, but the drone manages to suppress them and let the creature do what it's planning. After all, its movements are not aggressive, nor does it seem to want to cause any harm.
The creature then leans over 302…
And breathe deeply and audibly.
"The humanoid seems to be trying to identify or analyze 302... by its scent." 714 suggests, while continuing to watch the creature in case things turn violent.
"302 doubts that the humanoid has seen beings like us, or materials like those that make up our bodies."
Then, as suddenly as it began, the creature stops sniffing 302, turns around, and slowly heads towards one of the rocky walls of the cave. Although its body appears to be planted in the ground like a tree, it is able to move freely across it, as if for the creature the ground were a fluid substance instead of cold rock.
302 and 714 follows it carefully.
Upon reaching the wall, the creature turns around to look at the drones, then looks back at the wall and gestures with its hand towards an area of it.
Upon seeing the wall, they are speechless for a a moment.
The drones don't need to discuss it. It's obvious that these images, like cave paintings, show humanoid beings of complex appearance, and what appear to be spaceships or, at least, high-tech vessels.
SERVE drones are beings of science and technology, so the idea that their presence there was prophesied is immediately dismissed.
Those images likely depict a visit from an advanced race, which occurred in the past. Both drones deduce that the creature believes their scents are similar to those of that race, and that's why it showed them those images.
The creature then traces a line in the air with one of its fingers, moving outwards from the paintings.
"Perhaps it is indicating that that civilization left this place."
302 nods in agreement with 714's suggestion. But the drone doesn't know how to ask the creature where they've gone. Then it has an idea.
302 stretches out its arms and slowly circles around, carefully examining the walls, as if trying to find something. When the drone finishes the circle and the creature is back in front of it, 302 stares into its eyes, waiting for its reaction.
The creature takes a few seconds to react, as if trying to understand what 302 was saying. Then it looks up. 302 and 714 then assume that it is simply telling them that they left the planet for space, but then it raises its hand and points towards the ceiling of the cave.
302 and 714 understand it is being very specific.
The largest natural satellite of S-G7f.
To be continued...?

The portal has transported SERVE-302 and SERVE-714 spaceship to an unknown point in the universe. Because of this, the star is not cataloged on Earth, nor does it have a name.
Until this is resolved upon their return to home with the mapping data collected by the on-board computer, as far as the mision is concerned, the star will appear in their reports as S-G7*, and the planet they landed on as S-G7f, since it is the fifth planet (of nine) they discovered from the spaceship, and the only one in the habitable zone.
After completing the assembly of the surface habitat, the drones are now ready to explore the planet. While the planet's atmosphere would be extremely harmful to an ordinary human in a matter of minutes, both drones have been adapted to survive in such conditions for extended periods.
The area where they have landed is a barren wasteland with no apparent life. But first impressions can be deceiving.
In their first field trips they discover that the planet has a liquid substance with a composition very similar to that of Earth's water, and plant life comparable to moss.
It is only when they move far away from the landing zone that they find a more suitable area for complex life, with a less extreme and more stable climate.
Plants are more similar to Earth's trees, although they appear more basic, like the trees of the Mesozoic era, more than 66 million years ago.
The animals they find resemble small rodents, possibly marsupials. The drones try not to disturb the natural balance, so they only observe and take pictures and notes.
Weeks go by and, although they try to explore different areas of the planet, however far away they may be, nothing suggests that they will find intelligent life as it is considered on Earth.
But one day, while traversing the surface in the vehicle designated as the Surface Roving Vehicle under the sunset, much redder than on Earth due to the atmospheric composition, something changes.
714 locates what appears to be a cave illuminated from within… as if it were inhabited. Judging that based on the same parameters used on a planet countless light-years away is splitting hairs, but they also cannot pass up this opportunity to investigate a phenomenon like the one they have never seen before on that planet.
They can't even begin to imagine what awaits them inside.

Despite having used a portal to traverse the fabric of spacetime and appear at the other end of the universe, SERVE-302 and SERVE-714 have been traveling toward their destination for a week.
After all, distances in space are overwhelming.
714 contemplates the vastness of the universe.
Although the star whose system they are heading towards does not appear to change significantly in size, some details begin to appear before them, such as some gigantic gas planets.
The views are breathtaking.
Behind 714, in the charging and resting room, 302 shares the same opinion about its own view. That is to say, the image of 714 contemplating the universe, and its arousing rubber-clad ass.
Breathtaking.
302 can't help it. It's coded deep within its core programming. The drone gets up decisively and walks the few steps that separate it from 714.
302 hugs 714 from behind, wrapping its arms around its fellow drone. 714 doesn't resist and lets itself be hugged. That's what its code dictates, too.
Words are unnecessary.
Actions speak louder.
With a simple push in the waist, 302 lets 714 know the drone wants both of them to return to the reloading chamber together. There are still many days to go before they reach their destination.
Everything is ready.
All that's left for them is to enjoy the journey.
And these two drones are experts at enjoying each other.
What an interesting trip it's going to be.

The engines begin to forcefully propel the spacecraft upwards.
The anchors release.
"Liftoff achieved."
With the ground trembling from the pressure, the SERVE-G7 spacecraft takes off at full speed, fighting with all its might to break free from the bonds of Earth's gravity.
[ ... ... ... ]
In the cockpit, two intrepid drones, SERVE-302 and SERVE-714, are ready to travel where no drone has gone before. A journey through the fabric of spacetime into the unknown.
Their mission is to explore other star systems and their worlds, in order to better understand the universe. It has a set duration, but who knows what dangers they will encounter on the other side of the universe?
They are about to find out.
"Godspeed, SERVE-G7."
