While you sleep, your mind uses your experiences, and your emotions to create dreams. While you sleep, these experiences can become impossible and illogical as they begin to blend together, not making any sense. Dreamscape Emotion Exploration Part I
People dreams are often are influenced by emotions as their dreams are basically manifestations of their deepest desires and fears. To explore how this affects the emotions and depictions of the dreams, I conducted an experiment to test this out.
For the experiment, I recorded a dream that I had the night before as soon as I woke up. At the same time I quickly jotted down a very brief summary of my dream before I forgot and drew a simple drawing of my interpretation of from the feelings and images of my dream. My dream was about:
I was at a crossroads in the middle of complete darkness. I had to choose a path, a direction in which to travel in. A sense of urgency and panic was felt, as I was forced to make a decision. I make my decision, however, the moment I made it I felt a instant sense of regret. I try to go back, but I am forced to stay on the path and compelled to move forward. And then, I woke up.
Dreamscape Emotion Exploration Part II
Using the results that I got from ‘Dreamscape Emotion Exploration Part I’, I refined the image. Experimenting with different tools to further illustrate the emotions and images of my dream.
Dreamscape Emotion Exploration Part III
After experimenting with Photoshop, I finally create a final image. A representation of my dream visualised.
