[interview] kai for august 2018 allure korea
Q: So we will be able to meet a song that is only filled with Kaiās voice, from the beginning to the end?
A: You will be able to meet it, soon. When the album comes out, I will appear with something that will surprise everybody.
Q: Are your recent activities everything you like to do?
A: Definitely not 100%. There are things I have to do, and requests I receive. Iām kind *laughs* I follow my own desires and work. Same goes for today. I personally want to shoot 12 magazine photoshoots per year. Itād be best if I could do one per month.
Q: Iāve asked you a lot of questions about dancing so Iāll ask you something different. Do you have any desires about vocals?
A: I have a lot of desires so Iāve been practicing diligently. My skills have been improving without even being conscious of them. People arenāt interested so they wonāt know, but there will definitely be a time when they will be surprised. So you donāt need to be that interested right now *laughs*
Q: Who are you receiving help from?
A: Myself. My own desires. And I talk a lot with producer Kenzie. We donāt meet often, but every time we meet she tells me things that i need to hear.
Q: If you think of life as a book, what do you think will be written on this page if you open up to it later?
A: If life is a book and I am the main character, wouldnāt it be an introduction of the characters?
Q: Do you like interviews aside from just photoshoots?
A: I like them. Even if I receive the same questions, my answers change every year. My thoughts also change a little bit as time goes on. So itās fun. Fans like interviews too. Instead of taking photos, I like having my picture taken, and I like wearing clothes, so I enjoy shoots. I think āthis kind of clothing exists, this kind of visual existsā¦ā and I learn a lot
Q: Do the nephew/niece like āUncleā a lot?
A: They like the character āAtoā that I played in a drama and not me. They keep looking at āAtoā even though Iām right next to them. They canāt pronounce āUncle Kai (kor: ģ¹“ģ“ ģ¼ģ“ pronounced ākai samchonā)ā so they call me āKaichun.ā Meeting my nephew/niece makes me really happy. They canāt really talk yet so they can only say āKaichun,ā āNo/You canāt,ā āI like it,ā and āI donāt like it,ā but theyāve been stuck on āNo/You canātā and āI donāt like itā lately. If I say āKaichun, kissā then they say āI donāt like it/want to, noā and hit me. If i say āKaichun is leavingā then they say āNoā and hug me. Iām gonna go crazy, really. Iām a holic these days. I bought a present for them a couple days ago, but Iām getting excited about giving it to them.
Q: You look the happiest now during todayās interview. Isnāt it physically challenging to play (babysit) kids? It could be more tiring than dancing.
A: We went on a trip to Hawaii with them. Because I love kids, Iāve always wanted three kids. But that time, I thought for the first time that maybe I just want one *laughs* I realized how amazing my sister is. I had to babysit them by myself for a little while, I didnāt understand the reason why they were crying and their pants were getting heavyā¦But when I see them, it even makes me want to take care of them by myself. And now I think I know how my parents must have loved me.Ā
Q: What kind of position do you feel comfortable in at variety shows?
A: Talking is too burdensome. I think I wonāt be able to say anything if I go on shows like that because I become too nervous. I canāt make people laugh, so I canāt say anything there.Ā
