With quiet, almost silent steps, he walked inside the library, the only noise coming from the door which caused the young woman on the counter to look over at Jongin. He gave a light bow of his head and made his way inside the building. He was far from home, but he would always borrow books from that library, ever since he got to Seoul and leaving that habit was not an option. After all, it wasn't that hard for him to drive there on his free days or any moment he could. His eyes traveled from shelf to shelf, book to book but nothing caught his attention. He did grab a few, though, flipped some pages or looked at their covers, but no, he wanted something new, different.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, he walked toward yet another shelf, in that moment he took the chance to look around the room, the people he had seen when he got in was already gone, except for another young male and an old lady. He decided to take advantage of the situation and walked toward the counter near the exit. The female in there seemed to be reading, but as she heard Jongin walking in her direction, she looked over at him with a pretty astonished expression which quickly faded away and became relaxed. He immediately flashed a soft, gentle smile as he leaned his arms again the wood that was keeping them apart and spoke with a light voice. ❝ I wasted all this time trying to find a good book, but still nothing caught my attention. I was wondering if you could help me find something? ❞
to be entirely honest, thomas isn’t even supposed to be here. he hasn’t been exactly feeling up for these kinds of events and publicity as of the late, just because the dragging days have gotten colder, leading him to catch an unwanted cold and perhaps a developing flu. but then there’s his team mates who refuses to go without their vice cap, complaining of the team being incomplete without the team’s mood maker, the first five deranged without the presence of player #00. with a heavy mind he opts to go anyways despite his nostrils being a grade a+ pain, unable to breathe through his nose properly.
he stuffs a box of kleenex inside his duffel because he’s afraid of snot leaking down his nose while playing or worst case scenario, having a sudden attack of sneezes while playing as cameras flash on his face. making sure to apply a small amount of bb cream his mother has been pestering him to use, promising himself he won’t play any longer than 15 minutes because really, his throat is killing him too. quickly finishing the last bits of his sandwich, he throws out the last remains of his bottle and turns his attention to his mates, asks where he can fill up his empty bottle.
fingers point to a man not far away, a small smile painted on his face as he passes through the crowd. hands them bottles of ice cold water and while he means to be discreet, he ends up blurting the guy’s notorious nickname outloud, internally cursing himself for doing so. but fortunately for him the man turns to face him with a kind smile, causing thomas to wrap a hand around his neck apologetically.
❝don’t sweat it.❞ thomas replies in a hoarse voice, tone drawled in tranquil and comfort at the same time. there isn’t anything wrong with being the team’s water boy, and no one should look down on him so degradingly. ❝i was never permitted during the first years i played for my first league; i’m sure you’ve got your own skills in playing ball.❞
Whenever he thought about how he ended up being the water boy of the team, it was just a mess in his head. It was an accident, he wasn't even trying to get in the team, though. Actually, he was looking for his friend that day and he was told the guy was in the court, where he quickly headed to. Unfortunate thing was that he was wearing jogging clothes for being a lazy butt and not doing laundry, the coach ended up forcing him to do the tryouts. It turned out the way every single one of his friends, even himself, expected it to be. He was bad, really bad and although he insisted, the coach was too stubborn. And that was how Jongin was picked as the water boy. At first he hated the idea of it, but after a while of skipping classes with no trouble since he was part of the team, short trips and just being with his friends, he grew to love that. Didn't last long, because even though he enjoyed that, being surrounded by a lot of people all the time would make him feel drained out.
With a light chuckle, he looked at the taller man and briefly shook his head. He could see that the other felt a little bad for what he called him, yet Jongin didn't mind at all. ❝ There's no such a thing as skills in me, honestly. ❞ Yet another chuckle escaped past his lips, his fingers pressing the water bottle that was in his hand making a light crack noise and glanced over at the rest of men that were near them. ❝ I didn't even want to be part of the team, it just happened I guess. ❞ He wasn't one to speak to others, but that time, it came out rather naturally, as if the bad feelings he'd always get never existed in him. Not a trace of red shade on his cheeks or cracks on his voice, not even sweating or shivering. It was as if the anxiety never happened. Perhaps he felt comfortable in that place or people were nice and friendly, although many others say that popular players are kind of paranoid about being with strangers.
After a couple of seconds of being silent, he noticed that the man he was talking to had a weird tone in his voice which he didn't realize before. At least when he heard him on an interview, he didn't sound like that. ❝ Are you okay, man? ❞ Jongin blurted out without even thinking about speaking up. He was all thoughts and no words, but for the first time in so long, he didn't hesitate to say whatever the hell he wanted to and it felt so damn good. He didn't become a tomato after the words left his mouth, neither did he choke on the words he wanted to pronounce without using an awkward accent. Still, he felt a little curious about the older and his health, was he alright or did he feel sick? He was truly curious.

She didn’t think that anyone would notice her; after all, she didn’t wear that much make-up, had her hood up and had her sunglasses on. So when a group of males approached her, calling out her name and whatnot, the female couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous. She was supposed to go out on her own; get a couple of things for her family and group mates and probably go to a spa and salon to get some time for herself. Hence why she never asked her manager to accompany her. Standing in the middle of the group, the girl group’s leader smiled softly as she bowed at the men, bringing her hand up to cover her lips, chuckling nervously. They’re fans, yes, but in her experience, there are some who can be very aggressive when it comes to getting noticed by their favorites. In addition, it surprised her that they were looking for her, instead of her group mate, Yura. Mostly, she was surrounded by female fans while Yura was surrounded by male fans.
”O-Oh, hello, sign your CD? Oh yeah, sure!” She beamed and took the object from one of them, signing it. Once she heard a male voice behind her, she excused herself and turned around to face a male; was he with the others? She wasn’t quite sure but all she knew was he didn’t seem overly excited unlike the others and thus, she agreed to it. ”Ah, picture? Yeah, of course!” She chuckled while leaning against him slightly, the smile still intact on her lips as she began to whisper, “Help me, please.” She mumbled through gritted teeth, eyes focused on the camera in front of her. Granted, most of the males had left but there were some that still lingered around her and it made her slightly uncomfortable.
With a blank expression, he looked at the female's actions and over at the men who were in front of them. She was uncomfortable, it was clear, her body was almost screaming it. Nobody could blame her, he would feel scarred if some random girls would start following him just because they were fans. His intentions were simply to get an autograph, a picture and that was about it, but when she accepted to his odd proposition of going out for food, he couldn't just walk away since it was obvious she wanted to get away from the guys and perhaps, she thought Jongin wasn't that bad. He couldn't leave her, not only because she was an idol, but because she was a woman and leaving her there with random men... He couldn't, he wouldn't do it. In way, she was more prone to bad things happening than other girls and he was aware of that. Although, he wasn't one to do something about it because, after all, he was a stranger as well, but no, he never had bad intentions.
He silently stood there, behind her with his eyes glued on them and waited until she was done with autographs, pictures and so on, to then slide his arm around her back to pull her along him ever so gently in a sort of shielding way, without even saying a word and she looked surprised, but... In a good way? With one last glance toward the strangers left behind, he continued walking beside the older and languidly dropped his arm on his side after a few seconds. They could hear the men cursing at Jongin, but he couldn't care less, even though he wasn't sure of how they would react to such thing. He finally flashed a warm smile toward the woman once they were a block or something away. ❝ Okay, you're safe now. I don't think they'd come after you again. ❞

It wasn't that late, yet the streets of Seoul were rather quiet, or perhaps, it was because of the road he decided to take. Jongin pressed his fingers against the steering wheel, taking a quick glance to his friend, who looked nervous and a little scared too, after all it was an important day for him. One of the most popular basketball teams was supposed to play with the young male's university team. It was one of those matches were the best players have the chance to be part of the 'stars team'. When the two men have reached their destination, Jongin parked the car near the university building for them to be able to make their way inside after stepping out of the vehicle. He wasn't a lover of sports, but he couldn't deny he was a little excited about seeing famous players on the campus of his former university.
As soon as they both got in the indoor court, his friend walked straight to where his team was and Jongin headed toward the seat line placed a few meters away. The minutes passed by and both teams started playing, all familiar faces, they were people he had seen either on the campus or the people everyone else would see on TV. In the mid time, his friends had noticed him and called him to where all the players were talking, some of them laughing. The coach introduced Jongin as a former member of the team, though all he used to do was help the older whenever he needed it, not even playing since he sucked at sports. ❝ He wasn't good at playing, but every team needs water. ❞ The older joked while patting Jongin's back, causing a short laughter in everyone.
When the match was over Jongin decided to walk toward some of the professional players, carrying some water bottles, since nobody was doing so and there was no public. He could hear one of them saying something along the lines of 'water-boy'when he started to walk away, which caused him to chuckle and turn to face him. Thomas Park, was the first thought in his mind, he admired a few basketball players, it was a coincidence that the older man was one of them. ❝ I guess you end up getting used to it after a while. ❞ Jongin said in a sarcastic, yet friendly tone.

It was almost lunch time when he looked over at the clock on the wall, which was probably the reason why his stomach was starting to make noises, so he decided to grab his wallet, jacket and go get some food. He walked out of the store, making sure he locked the door and made his way down the street toward the ramen restaurant that was a block or two away. But when he reached the corner of the street, after making only a few meters, Jongin could see some teens, probably around his age, all surrounding something or somebody. Perhaps it was an accident, but on the sidewalk? Out of curiousity he walked toward the place, only to find out that it was just an idol, he couldn't see who, only that the person was a woman. He shook his head and started to walk away again, but his sight went back to the crowded space and he saw her.
Immediately he stopped and rolled on his heels, waiting for a little while until almost everyone was gone and the woman was 'released', so he quickly headed toward her. Speaking in a soft tone just as to not scare her, since she was facing the opposite side to where he was. ❝ Excuse me, may I take a picture with you? ❞ Jongin could see that she was alone, which was weird since idols are mostly seen with their manager, but he took advantage of that, flashing a bright yet sheepish smile. ❝ Or perhaps, invite you some food? ❞
Your fantasy.

"Thank you, sir." Bowing her head briefly, she couldn’t avoid another soft chuckle escape her lips, covering them with her mouth before letting it fall back to her side to speak. "This is actually a french name. Though I am Irish…"
"Please don't call me sir, it makes me feel old." With yet another chuckle, Jongin shook his head as he slipped his hands inside the pockets of his jeans, curiously looking over at the female in front of him. "You're Irish? That's cool. I'm Korean and have a Korean name. Nothing fancy or interesting."
necromanceiu replied to your post:Walking towards the male, she cleaned her throat...
She couldn’t help chuckling sheepishly at his comment, giving him a quick bow in gratitude. “My name is Ana, sir. Anaïs.”
He mirrors the woman's bow, flashing a wider smile which was followed by a low chuckle as he nods his head. "Oh, it's nice to meet you. My name is Jongin. You have a pretty name."
Walking towards the male, she cleaned her throat slightly and bowed her head solemnly, speaking in a soft yet audible whisper. "Hello, sir."
Upon hearing the light voice coming from behind him, Jongin peered over his shoulder before fulling turning to face the female with a bright smile. “Hello, lovely lady.”
