One of my most mundane dreams has been to setup a massive Space Engineers server.

Perpetual (aka no whipes), massive PvE/PvP, I don't care what I just want to make it beeg. I want our battles to leaves fields of scavenge. I want to dominate the solar system or destabilize an economy...

And honestly it's one of the dreams that I feel least likely. I'm not the kind of person to be a good server admin. I neither have the people, nor the skills to actually get that going.

There almost certainly is some potential to play with voxel dynamics #Like “dirt” type voxels compressing under wheels and holes slowly filling back in with “dirt”/ice types.#I mean the planets do store their surface elevation somewhere for event controllers so it should be possible.

I'm a bit troubled with how TNG treats historical artefacts.

All of them are directly shown as property of historians. Some curiosity to be owned, rather than a cultural good to be cared for. It's... well it's a bit like using a fish as office decoration.

I'd like to know whether I'm the only one who was oddly inspired by TNG on my recent rewatch. The idea that we'd end up there just feels... imminently human. Like it should already have happened, y'know?

idk if I’ve ever encountered a secret organization worse at being secret than Torchwood

like these people operate with the energy of a group project where nobody read the assignment but everyone still showed up convinced they’re doing great

someone, presumably Owen or Ianto, was apparently ordering pizza under the actual name “Torchwood” which is already an unbelievable sentence for a covert extraterrestrial operations unit

imagine being the delivery driver like “huh weird military bunker under the tourist attraction ordering double pepperoni again”

Ianto somehow sneaks an entire Cyberman, a cyber conversion unit, AND a scientist into the base so his cyber-girlfriend can live in the basement undiscovered which raises so many logistical questions it starts sounding like a sitcom plot

they have branded SUVs driving around town like they are a regional plumbing company instead of an allegedly classified organization dealing with alien threats

Owen leaves the keys in the vehicle with all the dangerous classified alien nonsense inside just, because

they’ve apparently distributed 2,008 retcon pills to civilians which means their solution to secrecy is not “prevent exposure” but “well hopefully everyone forgets”

Torchwood feels less like a shadowy secret organization and more like if five emotionally unstable bisexuals accidentally inherited the Men in Black headquarters and were trying their best not to get fired by the British government while actively making everything worse every week

The law (in Germany) is so funny because:

Yes, drinking water is a human right.

No, we won't just give it to you lmao

Ok, so, you can steal specifically the amount of water that you need to quench your thirst AND NOT AN OUNCE MORE. That way, you can use human rights to defend yourself in court under the condition that you would not have been able to get water in any legal way. You'll still have to pay back whatever they would likely have sold that water for.

Not legal advice, of course. That's just how we treat incarceration in context of the human right to freedom, so the strategy should work everywhere else. It's just kinda useless unless you literally do not have the cash to buy a bottle of water.

But if I am allowed to draw a conclusion from this: If they price us out of food, they also won't have any legal redress :)
