This is one of my favorite does-not-involve-clawing-my-face-off-in-grief parts of Teen Wolf — like, look at that. Teenage boys! Jocks! Affluent! Gorgeous! Unquestionably at the top of the school social hierarchy! Annnnnnd one of them is gay, and he is out to at least his peer group, and Jackson has 0.00% problems with it, and when Danny’s gayness comes up, it is never a Very Special Episode about How We Should Be Nice to Gays.
Danny dates! Danny has exes he was emotionally invested in and feels sad about! Danny is into computers, Danny drinks at school formals, Danny plays lacrose, Danny plays lacrosse team politics, Danny has a fake ID he will sell Jackson out for because he REALLY NEEDS THAT FAKE ID GUYS, Danny and Jackson have had conversations about whether Danny was into Jackson. I mean, just listen to the slightly exasperated tone when Danny reminds Jackson that Jackson isn’t his type, and Jackson’s dead serious response:
Jackson: straight as far as we’ve seen onscreen, but totally goes around believing that everybody, from the cute female hygienist at his dentist’s to his male best friend is into him, and he regards this as the natural and righteous order of the universe.
Pretty much everything I love about the lighter side of Teen Wolf in a nutshell. Including the fact that Keahu Kahuanui is WHOLLY UNCONVINCING AS A TEENAGER.
