Inflation and the Job Market
Relitigating 2008
The Fed's Responsibility
Forecasting the Economy
Fuckface von Clownstick's Lies Live?
Vegetarian = More Farts?
The Fed, Inflation, and Our Uncertain Economy
As the Fed’s new leadership navigates persistent inflation and economic uncertainty, Jon is joined by Austan Goolsbee, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, to better understand how America’s most powerful economic institution actually works. Together, they explore the Fed’s origins and mandate, examine what the Fed can do as prices remain stubbornly high, and consider how the economic operating system Americans live within can work better for everyone. Plus, Jon takes listeners’ questions about fact-checking Fuckface von Clownstick, understanding Fetterman, and farts!
Fuckface von Clownstick brags that he's the "only president to take a cognitive test." Any guess as to why that is?
Jon describes what pharma companies are doing to taxpayers as the "worst Shark Tank deal in history"
Jane Fonda shares what she's learned as a dedicated member of resistance movements over the years
Six acts dropped out of Fuckface von Clownstick's Freedom 250 concert, but Vanilla Ice stepped up to save the day
Fuckface von Clownstick zoomed through the first five stages of grief and went straight to ""fuck that guy"
Jon thinks maybe the people regulating new tech shouldn't look like they're powered by steam
Holy shit, "Middle East peace" is about as ambitious as a bucket list item can get
As Mitch McConnell vows to continue his unfinished business, Jon begs him: "Don't!"
Lindsey Graham is the sixth member of Congress to die this TERM? WTF is going on down there?
Jon Stewart on America’s aging Senate, why it’s so unproductive, and how that affects citizens
On one side, grounded in a certain reality of life that only those with no experience or empathy towards what those individuals are going through are having, and the other seems to be a clinging to a societal paradigm that just doesn't exist anymore and probably never did. When was America great? What is this time that he speaks of? 81 to 82? Like, what are we talking about? And who took your country away from you? Yeah. Whose country, whose is it? Take up the argument with the founders. Take it up with the age of reason. That's the, you know, all men are created equal. That's fucked the whole thing up.

You can appreciate where you live. You can love where you live. And you can honestly diagnose a terrible, terrible illness that has lived in this beautiful place that you call home and love that you believe has metastasized into a cancer that can kill the very thing that you believe in so deeply about this country. To improve that place, and make it into the country that it stated it was in its founding documents is the duty of everybody who lives here.

Jon Stewart Bio: From Stand-Up Comic to the Daily Show
I feel like the country is in an abusive relationship with a narcissistic partner. I'm not fluent enough on the issues of the psychology of a relationship to know, how do we heal - how do people heal from that?

The entire fucking Congress is falling apart due to a lack of not just political will, but bone density!

Having access to different stories has always been a difficulty for America in general because of that sort of narcissistic worldview. We tend to be slightly narcissistic when it comes to the vision of it, and it's such a necessary thing. I wonder if it really improves it. Here's something that I grapple with. I've known about it forever. I have friends who have Palestinian families who've suffered through it. I have friends in Israel who suffered through it. And it sometimes feels as though the only people that benefit are the powers that be. And all these good people are so left behind by this weird power structure that we left in place there.
