i absolutely agree! fiction is and always will be the safest way to explore different perspectives, situations and experiences. it’s the reader’s job to know how to research the story before interacting with it and how to consume it; they should be aware that not story is gonna be suitable for them, and if they have the slightest doubt that something is going to make them feel uncomfortable or upset because they don’t agree with it — they can ignore it. i’m a huge book lover; books and writing have been by my side since childhood, so hearing stuff about silencing authors and writers, regardless of where they share their works and if they’re even published or not, always irritates me so bad 🫩 for so many people out there, including victims of abuse, writing dark stories is the way to heal
