@joon4jun
congrats on marriage??
Heaven is impartial and cannot favor human beings. Demons uses humans for their own purposes. Neither will save your soul, neither will care.
You know who cares? Pete. Niran. The whole gang, who went through that hard ritual and chooses to go through it again in order to save the other trapped souls.
The thesis of the show is that amidst the terrifying forces of heaven and earth, there will be human connection, and that is what will ultimately save your soul.
wait i'm not done i'm also thinking about what niran told pete about anger in episode 4 about controlling it and letting it go and it being a new feeling each time and like . is that how he has been taught to feel about all emotions? because we have to talk about that. he's like. everything is fleeting so i'm gonna isolate myself and things will happen to me but i will move on. and then he sees pete and he is not able to do that anymore. and yea at first he takes pete with him just to try and understand how strong he is or how weak the seal is or whatever whatever.
but then he keeps going back to him even though the feeling will go eventually and he will move on and it wont matter anymore. and then and then he binds their souls together and part of him is telling himself that he shouldn't have done it because the feeling will go and then he'll be done with it but then still he just keeps going back to pete. and also pete keeps coming back to him. this is important to me
The Post-Ritual Fight was just like so much and I think I'm going to ha e to watch it again to get more details. Nani did a fantastic job portraying betrayal (as he... frequently does. Stop betraying Nani's characters, Sky's characters, even if it is only momentarily), but what I really think is an important thing to point out is that the fight wasn't Pete accusing Niran of lying to him, it was Pete begging Niran to assure him that Niran hadn't lied to him, and then that angry hopelessness when Niran did not assure him.
But then, on the other side of it was Niran, and it was Niran that made you feel that knot of anguish in your gut. You know, when a character hurts the one person they never want to hurt ever? That anguish? And Sky, as usual, showed us his acting skills to the Mac.
we are not ready for what comes next.
because so far, the story has been driven by niran's love for pete. he was the one to approach pete, to tell him what he could do and ask for his help. niran said pete had been calling him, but he was the one we saw reach out and ask pete, more than once, to come to him. niran was the one who stuck by pete and bound them together when pete might have been lost. niran was the one to break the jar instead of breaking pete's heart. niran's love has been as loud as his calls when sealing demons and yao.
through it all, pete's love for niran has been quietly answering. pete followed niran, gave him is trust, risking his life and soul over and over without question, calmly accepting that it's absolutely right for theirs to be tied together. niran moved into his house but pete turned it back into a home and made them a family. and when niran was lost, it was pete that called him back and swore he would do it again. pete has been loving niran in a way that seems quiet because it's always been in answer to the love niran has shown.
now that niran can't move forward, it will be pete's love driving the story forward. all the love pete has shown has been a echo of what he's been shown, but with niran trapped in silence, we're about to see just how big and loud pete's love for niran truly is.
i say again, we are not ready
"You're just drawing the same thing over and over again"😆 这一段真的好感动😌
Wu Study 1
Let's just say the magic words...
Niran don't forget to cash your cheque out before the validity period expires na
Also i really like the tick-a-tick tick sound in the light hearted banter between Niran and Pete. It feels slightly mischievous.
Why does Niran speak Hakka?
I went down a rabbithole and resurfaced with ✨ information✨ :
While most Hakka communities are at EGIDS levels 7 (Shifting) to 8b (Nearly Extinct), the geographically isolated Hakka community in Betong Municipality, Yala Province, in southern Thailand has maintained the language particularly well, and this community can be ranked at Level 6a due to its unique sociolinguistic and geographic context, including isolation, difficult accessibility, and a small-scale multilingual environment, which collectively foster the continued use of Hakka. This means that while the Hakka language is not sustained by any formal institutions, it still has an important function as a home and community language and is transmitted to new generations of speakers. source
While Hakka is notoriously divergent with so many different speaking traditions that don't always match up, I did my best to put together what I think I hear them saying in this scene (some words I just dk okay):
多謝你來看我 toh qia nyi loi kon ngai Thanks for coming to see me 但係我來到按遠了 dan heh ngai loi dto an yan le But I have come too far 轉頭唔得了 zon teu mm dit le And can't turn back 但係今日我等人來到這位 dan heh kin-nyit ngai-teu-nyin loi dto li wui But we came here today 唔係來講你嘅事 mm heh loi kong nyi-e geh si Not to talk about you 係來講你嘅孫嘅事 si heh loi kong nyi-e sun geh si But to talk about your grandson 阿永樂佢還細 Ah-Yong Lok gi han seh, Ah-Yong Lok (Niran) is still a child, 唔曾秀麼嘅(??) mm tian siu ma geh(??) he hasn't shown any potential 吾祖宗嘅巫術 還愛有人傳承 en zu zung geh wu-sut han oi yiu nyin con shin Our ancestors' expertise still needs to be passed on 請你再想清楚來 qia nyi zai xiong cincu loi Please consider it well
Random Bonus: here's this dialogue in another version of Hakka :3
Finally, all stories of muteleuv are finished and i loved all of them.
What if oxygen is poisonous and it just takes 75-100 years to kill us?
My science teacher said he thinks that’s true actually
Yeah this is actually pretty much exactly what is going on. It’s why anti-oxidants are such a big deal. Bonus fact: oxygen oxidizes stuff in your cells or, in other words, it’s not toxic, just setting you on fire very very slowly.
What if there are aliens out there but they subsist on entirely different substances and they’re just scared as shit of us and our crazy ass hell planet? Once in a while some alien anthropologist type suggests checking out the people on this inhabited planet out towards the galaxy’s edge. The other aliens just look at the naive academic with horror. No!! We do not go to that world. That is where the DEATH BREATHERS live. They recreationally consume poisons and are more or less composed of biological fire. Their atmosphere is made of rocket fuel. We must leave the DEATH BREATHERS in peace. Do not go there. Do not.
I tend to always reblog posts about humans being terrifying weirdos to aliens.
@brainsforbabyjesus
okay but…that is actually what went down on earth about 2.5 billion years ago.
Earth was doing just fine with a mostly nitrogen/carbon dioxide atmosphere and everyone was happy to go on living in anaerobic bliss and then cyanobacteria suddenly hit the scene, altered the atmosphere composition so that there was a ton of oxygen gas and killed practically everything (97% or more of all species on earth).
We are literally descendants of the DEATH BREATHERS and cyanobacteria is our deadly mother.
The cyanobacteria holocaust is so big, it doesn’t even have a cool name; it’s just called “The Great Oxygenation Event”; the *second* most apocalyptic extinction event in our planet’s history is the one that’s called THE GREAT DYING (the Permian-Triassic event, about 252 million years ago).
This shit makes like the rock-throwing that wiped out the dinosaurs look like kindergarten.
OH HOW I LOVE THIS POST. It makes me so much happier about being alive. I AM BURNING VERY SLOWLY. *hugs it*
And once again, the internet makes learning history and science a thousand times more interesting than school ever did.
I love shit like this.
I was totally having thoughts along these lines and along comes tumblr to pretty much sum it all up. Bravo~
No miniseries for 2026 again😮💨😥
I hear my mom shrieking downstairs, shouting up to me about “THE CATS! THE CATS!”
I run downstairs, thinking someone has died or something and see THIS:
I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO PUNCH SOMETHING TO GET OVER THE ADORABLENESS
They look like they’re about to break out in a musical number
hence:
This post got better since I re-blogged it earlier.
This is everything
@maverikloki
… my hand slipped
See this is why I love Tumblr.
When do you get creative engagement like this on other social media sites? You just don’t have the space to.

This is my favourite potato <3
I think one of the most incredible things about gmmtvs artistic direction *is* their dedication towards the commonplace the steady the familiar. Not only do they make boring gay shows (in addition to the exciting and interesting imo) but they do it consistently every single year. Every single year they make terrible shows and boring shows; shows you can put on in the background and promptly fall asleep during shows that I consistently forget exists or even aired (in addition to the great!).
Will P’Golf ever stick the landing in their shows? idk but they certainly will be directing till we find out 😂 Is New Siwaj on some quest to turn his low stakes college anthology style into like a degrassi or skins-esque staple? idk gonna find out during gmmtv2026. Which formative media for Jojo is going to become his next aesthetic centerpoint? Idk but we gonna find out. Will Aof Nopparnach ever stop directing like he wished he was making lakorns instead? maybe if it’s RPF but idk we gotta find out.
Like??? I am following pioneer creators on their creative journey *as* they’re taking it. I’m watching them fumble and pirouette as they sculpt their pieces; flaws and all.
man what an incredible place for queer media to be and what good luck to be experiencing it when I am
#A READ#but a deeply loving one - @chicademartinica
oh man it is SO deeply loving what can I say about it?
bad shows and mediocre shows and boring shows are necessary for the artistic process. the truth is that sometimes Jojo Tichakorn will make a boring show. bless Never Let Me Go but I don't remember a single thing about that show other than Pond and Phuwin sat on the beach soulfully looking out at the sea in sepia adjacent coloring. But that was simply his artistic impulse. there's no THK without only friends without NLMG. And in that VERY same interview from TWO years ago Jojo revealed that Ninew originally wanted Only Friends to be set in an acting class while Jojo pushed it to Business. and now??? Ninew gets to direct Only Friends: Dream On. HIS vision of only friends. It's mind boggling, for a queer person to live such a sweet life, training under a mentor, working towards and achieving their dreams I just dgaf if it's horrible I love OF: Dream On with all my being already.
I don't know if P'Golf will ever construct a story where they don't pretend that the villain is not the villain? Like they build such compelling narratives of conflict and intimacy and the intimacy to be found within conflict and then completely forget to set up the motivations of their antagonists (RIP Thua and Ter plywood beams supporting so much of the narrative's weight) but like I really dgaf the person who submitted Thailand's marriage equality bill, an act that changed the course of history can do whatever the fuck they want lol
I mean many such cases?? I didn't watch Last Twilight despite Aof being one of my favorite directors period is because I knew his protagonists tend to follow lakorn logic, he did it in ATOTS, DBK, MLC and even in Bad Buddy (random shooting my beloved <3), like idk if it's the shared enthusiasm for RPF or traditional asian narratives but I feel this man's vision on an atomic level and I knew from the trailer how that show was going to end and I didn't watch it because I know his artistic limitations. But then it suddenly became about how GMMTV hates disabled people. Like??? Not only did Aof Noppharnach present such a beautifully compelling and deeply celebratory representation of queer disability in MLC he named his queer disabled character Heart idk how to explain the shock I felt when faced with people's short term memory regarding this.
I'm not surprised that Nuchy is the one directing Burnout Syndrome, a three-way entanglement with gun atthaphan as the centerpoint. The exclusion of GramBlack, outside of its social reactions and implications, was a significant failing of her narrative. Gram was in fact in love with Black, that's what how it was in the original story from which Not Me was adapted and that's how it was in the show. To change who a character is in love with is changing the whole character which she simply hadn't done but she compromised her art against social pressures and like I don't have proof but im not surprised that the keys to Gun's Off Jumpol chastity belt was handed to Nuchy.
it's incredible, make your shitty pots my dears I'm here to witness it. we are nowhere near the peak for any of these people. Hayao Miyazaki was 47 when he directed My Neighbor Totoro. Jojo is only 40 years old that's a baby in artist years. They are pioneers in an entirely toddler of a genre, they have countless more life experience to collect and tonnes more stories to tell imperfectly and I am simply so happy to be here. I like to acknowledge GMMTVs hand in creating this reality.
People lowkey forget that we (yes, we) have the entire world to conquer. We are still very small, miniscule in the grand scheme of things. There's still a vast majority of people who are yet to discover this grand archive of media. There's still such a long way to go- for literally everyone involved in making it.
The makers are still learning, from each other and themselves, just like OP said. So are the actors. I don't think anyone would disagree when I say that there's a fucktonne of actors that are widely disliked because "they aren't good enough," and yeah, they aren't. You know why? Because they're just getting started. They've done what? Maybe 3, 4, 5 shows, some with the same partner even, over the span of a 5-10 years. That's nothing. There's actors in this world who have been around for decades and still need a lot improvement.
What's the rush? What's the need for everything to be extremely high quality? I'm not saying that criticism isn't valid, or isn't needed. It so is. It is deeply necessary to be critical of the media you consume, it is the only right way to go about things and actually help the creators improve themselves. But the criticism has to be valid, and understanding of the limitations the project was constructed under. The limitations of time, money, talent, artistic liberty, even just pure effort from the team. Because at the end of the day, culture can't develop in a linear form, people can't develop in a linear form.
We have become so used to seeing things be "historical" and "huge" from before us that we've forgotten that history doesn't just get made. We, as a fandom and consumers of this huge archive, are a part of actively making history. Making something that will be a huge part of the world's heritage and culture one day. We are so far from the top, but we are going around the slopes, don't let yourself give out so soon.
the fact that we are getting to follow such a beautiful journey will never be less amazing to me the journey of the director's and artist's creativity, their ever growing area of talent and it in itself is just so wholesome tbh and I love each one of you so much because hating is so so easy but so is loving and I choose to love
