name: jordan mitchell
nickname: jord, j, mitchell
age: 32
gender: cis female
sexual orientation: bisexual
occupation: bartender at tejas Cantina
residence: ocean crest apartments
cheating/pregnancy tw: Jordan's mother grew up in search of acceptance and approval, which ended up being the reason that she got involved with a married man. The lies he told her kept her hooked until she fell pregnant, but the reality of his situation caught up with him, and rather then leaving his wife as promised, it was her that he stayed with.
The sum of money that was given to her was enough for Melanie to walk away and wash her hands of the man. But once the money ran out and the woman grew lonely once more, she returned to other men who fulfilled the need for affection
It didn't take long for her to find another person with who she became attached and eventually married. The process of moving out and eventually leaving for good came quickly but the already independent girl was ready with a plan when the apartment went up for listing.
She left and began to live with friends, moving from couch to couch. Moving into the homes of her boyfriends until she found herself with Silas. His lifestyle was alluring at first but the love quickly grew stronger than anything she had ever felt.
Arrest/incarceration tw: Until it all came crashing down one night while they were out on a run and a police officer stopped them. Before she knew it, he was being cuffed and taken to jail for charges that were not all his to take on.
She stood by him for years until juggling work, weekly visits, and bills began to become too much. At the height of her breaking point, Jordan changed her number and never returned to the prison to see him again.
After taking a few classes and securing administrative jobs, even becoming a fashion editor intern, she was eventually fired or let go of each. She turned to waitressing, barista work, eventually becoming the bartender at Tejas Cantina where she has managed to stay for a few years now.
"No, you really shouldn't." He'd spent his whole life talking to a bunch of people who wanted to support his team and give him money and it was annoying having to deal with old men who had opinions on well... a lot of his life. "They're probably not." He knew that he was attractive. "However, there are people following me because they were fans of me." Freddy personally didn't really know if he liked men or women. He'd never really dated women focusing on his career and men were a lot easier to talk to most of the time. But he liked women in theory. "Wouldn't be my first choice in a couch, but sure, I can see how that might be nice."
"No, like, I'm sure there's people who follow you because you can... I mean, what can you do? Drive super fast and do those glide things and like not run into the fence?" Jordan didn't know much about his work and everything that came with being a driver but she was confident in the next part. "But there's gotta be a lot who saw you take off your hat and was like, that's also a nice piece of ass." She winked at him, her hip pushing into his side as if she'd just given him the best compliment he could have ever received. For someone like Jordan, it was. "Well, you haven't seen the whole vision but it's spectacular and once I've got it all set up, you can come over and I'll have you sleep on the couch so you can fully appreciate how amazing it is. It'll just need 72 hours to fully inflate first."
There were plenty of brides to be that came into her work that she absolutely would not like outside the four walls of the boutique. Honestly there were days when she felt depressed about having to work around people happy to be getting married when her love live was so strange. "Yeah, well a lot of people want to get married because they don't think they'll find anything better." That's kind of how her parents thought Lore should be doing. "My parents had an arranged marriage, but they liked each other well enough." Lore wasn't like that. She wanted to marry one person. "I'll look into it this week and get back to you," she smiled softly. "Not really. I used to think about my wedding all the time, but not anymore. I think it's because my love life is kind of complicated."
Jordan wasn't one who believed in marriage. At least not when it came for the sake of love outside of protecting ones assets. She didn't think that a wedding made things more real or important, but she understood doing it to secure wealth from a rich husband. Then she met the love of her life and she could see herself going down the aisle in some skimpy white dress looking hot and memorable. "That's kind of depressed. Do you see people and think that it's a mess waiting to happen? Like you see the step mother and you can already tell their son is a monster." Her brow rose at the mention of the arranged marriage. "That's good that they liked one another. I wonder if they ever thought about what if. Perhaps they could have met someone they liked more." Leaning forward, Jordan flashed her a smile. "Complicated how?"
"Uh," Pax starts with a squint. "Worst story ever. It was just lights out, which was for the better."
No plate, no witnesses, whoever it was cared more about themselves than to make sure he was okay. There is a wonder of how long he really was there before someone found him to call it in, but all he does really recall is—
"Bob Marley's Three Little Birds was the last thing I heard, that's all I can remember."
He turns his bottle around in his hand, pushing the beads of condensation under the pads of his fingers as he feels a flash of frustration there, but it comes and goes before he can sit in it. There's no use in it, it's been about sixteen years.
He prefers the topic of Jordan's whole 'discovered in a mall' plan, and it brings out a laugh. It distracts him and brings him a reason to not dwell on what-if's, and it also makes him want a hot pretzel from Auntie Anne's.
"Sure, and then I can say that I knew you before you were famous." He's not sure it's that easy, but he adds, genuinely, "What about Only Fans? You're, uh. You have all the assets, I think. You'd make money and get a lot of followers, and all you have to do is post pictures."
She frowned at him and then shook her head. "Missed opportunity, you know. This could be a great story and there's no one to disprove what you're saying. You could be famous."
He could be someone they interviewed on the news or one of those ungodly early morning shows. But here he was, downplaying the whole thing.
"Let me put that song on my playlist so I'll think of you and your leg each time." It felt like the nicest thing she could do for him.
Jordan paused and flashed him a wide smile. "Do you think I'm hot?" The teasing smile played at her lips for a beat too long before she shrugs her shoulder. "Duck is probably going to have nightmares of this and will come hunt you down but I would do bank at OnlyFans. I have a boyfriend who wants me all to himself— who can blame him. I'd probably do it with him if I can convince him. We're super hot together. Otherwise, I think I have enough fans that I probably wouldn't do well with a stalker, you know. I'd be the one who mistakes them for the mailman and opens the door."
Esther snorts, always utterly charmed by Jordan's blunt assessments of people. She's rarely wrong, is the thing, and she's particularly correct right now, because the new girl is already on Esther's last nerve.
"Hang on," she lifts an eyebrow, "you're watching porn for the plot? That's--kind of cunty, actually," she says, eyes narrowed contemplatively. "Maybe I should start watching some more plot-heavy porn. We can do, like, book club, but it's porn club."
She's right, of course--the dude coming at them looks smug as hell, and it's never sat right with her seeing a man looking that happy.
"Ladies," he says through his revolting smile, looking first at one of them and then the other with this expression like it hasn't even occurred to him he might get rejected. "My buddy and I--" he jerks his thumb over his shoulder, "would like to buy you a couple drinks."
"Uh huh," Esther says, looking him up and down, "and do you and your buddy already have it picked out who gets who, or do we get that honor?"
It takes a second for the smile to slip off his face and he looks like he can't decide whether she's genuinely asking or being sarcastic.
"Uh," he says, and then laughs nervously. He looks at Jordan like he expects her to give him the answer. "We--what?" @jordanmitchell
It started more out of boredom when she was fighting with Silas and then it escalated every time he was working a late shift. Rather than getting off as intended, she found herself just randomly clicking and trying to find a story that seemed real and genuine.
Though it wasn't exactly what she wanted each time. Part of her felt like Silas and her would do better at roleplaying than half those people.
"It's so hard to find, Es. Like, I may have watched three hours of clips, and that's maybe thirty or forty seconds of each because by then, I know if it'll be good or not. Half the time it's horrible but I've got a bunch favorited that I can send you. I'm really into the whole neighbour thing."
Or the innocent pool boy being seduced by the young daughter who stayed home from a vacation trip. That had been good the last time she'd watched it.
Before she could flip open her browser on her phone, her attention shifted to the men.
"I would love to know who gets who, though I think our opinion matters. Like, for example, your friends hairline is a lot better than whatever is going up there. It looks like a tupee that is coming undone."
Her manicured finger whirled towards the men's head. "But your friend has been suspiciously straight faced which makes me think his teeth must be jacked. I don't think drinks are going to cut it."
"I never wanted kids but then I fell in love and started to dream about the future but also we're too hot, like it would be a crime not to continue our family line. I also think Silas would be the best dad. I know he would and I want to see him with a son."
❄️ SNOWFLAKE - do people consider them cold? if so, what made them this way?
"Of course but it's because they aren't used to blunt people who will tell them how it is rather than try to save their feelings. More people need to be this way and then they'd understand it isn't about temperament but just honesty."
One with realistic expectations, but Aeris can hope and want and always leave that door open, even if it's by centimeters. Just enough for Jordan to know that the invitation is there without an expiration date.
Though, he exercises that same control he's been trying to make consistent since the start of the year, filtering his words before something entirely inappropriate comes out.
"I didn't put anything in your mouth, actually."
He shrugs with one shoulder, feigning innocence as well as Aeris Flores can.
( Hint: it's not very well. )
"What's next on your agenda, then, Miss Crime Ring Leader. If there's always someone to commit crimes with, it doesn't make me feel special if you hit me up once in a blue moon, so it has to be interesting. And short of murder."
"You're adorable. I think it's the best dream you've had."
Mainly because it had to do with her and what else could be better than that?
Did it mean it would ever come true? Unlikely. But who was she to squash that dream.
She flashed him a look to be careful before she peered up at the sky. "Well, the world is my oyster but I have nothing in mind right now. Nothing that I really want or need that I can't get in more legal ways."
But mainly Silas and her weren't fighting and he didn't need to kidnap Clyde to get her attention.
"Well, you freaked out the last time that we did out little stint so I figured that your fear of getting arrested out-weighted spending time with me and I thought that was stupid— but fair. But if you wanna climb up my list and be my second call, just say so."
Lore wasn't one of those people that got jealous of her friends for getting married or engaged. She loved seeing her friends happy. It did however make her think of her own love life and how complicated everything was. Of course it wasn't anyone's fault outright and she could probably solve her problems if she wanted to, but she was nervous and scared to admit her feelings outright when there were a lot of problems that she knew could arise if something went wrong. There was more at stake than her own feelings. "It's amazing the lengths people will go to to not break up with someone," she huffed. Some people were so disappointing. "I'll ask next time I work. Hopefully he does." Lore didn't know how long it would be before she got engaged, but she had thought it would have happened by now. Her parents were pushing with her dad's new business partner, but neither of them really seemed interested in that. And she hadn't told anyone about that.
Even she had to agree that people would jump through hoops for a relationship and she wasn't one of those people. Some would argue that it was the way that Jordan and Silas both were but she was adamant that it was just them and neither of them would act the same with anyone else. "When you know someone is a loser, it's time for you to jump ship and go find someone else." The only time she could see that being difficult was if there were children but even then, she didn't believe that should be a reason for anyone to stay. "You should and get back to me. I'll give you my number so we can keep in touch." Jordan was all about finding friends, especially if they could offer something to her outside of a friendship. It wasn't like she was using them because she wasn't above giving free drinks whenever she was working. "Have you thought about a dress you'd want? You must have one in mind. Mermaid?"
Freddy knew that he looked relatively young for someone with a career that was over—or well needed to pivot in a way he didn't want it to pivot. But realistically there were not that many people who made it in his world and when they did, they were mostly retired by 40, with a few exceptions. "I'm twenty five. And most people in my career retire at like thirty six or so." So really he wasn't that far off from when he'd retire. If he'd have made it that far. "I'd like to think that people follow me because they like my career, not because they think I'm attractive." Although he did play that up when he was driving. That was sort of the point of his career. "And that's expensive why? It's foam and fabric. You probably could buy something better that will actually last. I've read that eventually foam mattresses and whatever compress over time. Seems like the couch would also do that." She could buy whatever couch she wanted, but it didn't seem that practical to him. "I guess it's cute."
"I kinda hate you." It was jordan's way to say that she was jealous of him because it was her dream to be retired at the ripe age of thirty something. She would have aimed for lower but there was no shot she would have been able to, especially not now. The only way she would have been able to retire is if Silas' was still dealing and that wasn't something she was willing to have him do ever again. "I feel like no girl is following you for the cars." But what did she know. Jordan would only follow people because they were hot but there was no shame in admitting that. "It'll probably do that but it's cute and I feel like I'm light enough that it wouldn't do it quickly. But imagine sitting on a memory foam couch and just sinking into it, doesn't that sound blissful? Plus it's this dusty pink and super cute." When he agreed, her hands shot up in the air. "I told you!"
"I think loyalty is important ... up until a certain point. Like, if it's a question of life or death, I feel like it makes sense that you can't be loyal so depends on the situation but it's still very important."
"I can't narrow one, like the first that comes to mind is when I was walking and saw Clyde's picture on a poster. I'd recognize that chicken scratch and janky spelling anywhere. It was just cute he'd put so much effort into it!" @silascody
