BIO
Everything in life is fleeting. Wealth, status, and a good name could fall apart in an instance. For the Tamblyn’s it felt as though their whole world fell apart in an instant. Born the third of four siblings, Ford had the whole world at his feet for a time period. His father had ran an incredibly successful property management company that parlayed into tech and home security. After making millions he had relocated the ever growing family to Aurora Bay shortly before Ford was born. In many ways it was ideal. He didn’t have to really worry about anything in his childhood other than finding extracurriculars to fill his time up. And Ford was good and staying busy.
He had an aptitude for sports, music, dance and even fondness for pottery after his sister made him watch Ghost and he thought he could communicate with the dead through making an ashtray. What he didn’t know was that his parents company was going under and the wealth that they had acquired and become incredibly successful for was about to blow up in their faces. His father believed that it was a mistake but the castle came crumbling down and soon his parents had been arrested for fraud and various other bad business practices. Soon the four Tamblyn siblings were left with nothing as their parents went to trial. And a newly twenty one year old Ford had no idea what to do with his life.
He had plenty of skills but none of them were life skills. If he had wanted to go into sports he should have done that ages ago but he was in the weird grey area where 21 wasn’t old to anyone but in industries where your youth and abilities needed to be honed before the age of 18. So Ford did the only thing he could think of. He packed his car and moved out of Aurora Bay to try and make something happen in his life.
Fortunately in Hollywood, they love a good scandal and the fallout from his families high profile blunder had made reality and docu series producers knocking at his one room apartment. Before he knew it Ford was trying to rewrite his family name by just being himself. He was part of a show about the next generation of the wealthy or in his case the formerly wealthy. The mockery he once felt about what happened to his family made him start to win favor in the reality industry. It proved he had no idea what his parents were up to and that he was just a twenty something guy who was just trying to get his shit together. He became a star. But being a guest on Watch What Happens Live was not what Ford wanted to do with his life forever. He didn’t want to become a meme or be seen as someone who was fake hungry. He was just trying to make some money to get out of the financial hole his parents had put him in.
The more the money came in the more jaded Ford seemed to become. It was the moment the producers manufactured a fake relationship for views for him that Ford was having a morality crisis. He was perfectly fine being himself on tv but to fake being in love with someone he barely knew was a whole other battle. Knowing he was still under contract and could face legal repercussions if he walked away, Ford agreed to it and then he became one half of tabloids most talked about couple.
But it was all fake.
And the longer it went on the more Ford started to detest himself. And when news of his mothers suicide hit the press, and they wanted to turn that into a story, Ford realized he needed to get out immediately. He already hated himself for being a fake but to have his families tragedy played up for ratings was something he felt sick about. He knew that as soon as the contract expired and the show was over he was packing up once more and moving back to Aurora Bay. He needed a sense of who he really was again. He needed to just be a normal person and hope that the universe would finally leave him be.
The moment he got his chance couldn’t have come any faster and soon he gave Hollywood a middle finger and moved home; using all the money he saved into buying the local music store to just have a normal day to day job, where he got to be surrounded with something he enjoyed and not have to ever feel like he was performing for an audience. There’s just one problem. Every once in a while people come in and recognize him. At times it’s been harmless but there are other incidents when “fans” thinking their parasocial relationship with watching him on tv for years means they have access to his personal life that make Ford want to leap out of his skin. It makes him often times irritable and at worst downright aggressive. The fake relationship seems to haunt him too as he’s constantly bombarded with questions about why they broke up and why she isn’t in Aurora with him.
So much for keeping his head down and being normal.
