Jordan “Jo” Kirby || Dakota Johnson
twenty-eight years old. head softball coach @ tupelo high school. native.
is the youngest of the kirby clan & definitely the most dependent one of them all.
was treated like a baby growing up, so essentially got to be the baby all her life. they are super close with their parents. a tight knit family.
however, later in life she developed some bitterness toward her family.
has strong morals and a well maintained work ethic because of her father. he made sure to instill these values in his children early on.
she paid for all of her softball gear and travel expenses on her own. she mowed lawns, babysat children and even chores around the house when her parents allowed. but every penny was her own.
softball is everything to her. it’s the one thing in her life that she feels is hers. very passionate about it to this day.
however her father hated that. he didn’t think it was right for her to be wasting time with sports when she could be doing anything else.
there was always pressure for her to have a stable job and if jordan had it her way, she absolutely would have taken the softball route her entire life. she had a good arm and was willing to risk it all. however, that would mean she would have to become independent and not be able to rely on her family for emotional support in the same town.
this especially became true when austin left to enlist. she was incredibly close with austin growing up. he was the protective older brother and she was annoying little sister. but she would never trade him for the world.
yet, when he went with her father to enlist, it destroyed her. she felt like she had lost her best friend and the best member of her family.
jo definitely still has some bitterness and resentment for austin despite his return.
was very close with hunter dixon and his family. they were over a ton growing up and when austin left, she relied on them a lot for support.
jo went away to college and became a loan officer, exactly like her father wanted. for several years after college, jo worked as one. but it was job that she hated.
in just the last few months, jo has quit her job as a loan officer and taken a full time softball coach position down at the high school. she is exactly where she is supposed to be right now..
she is notorious for thinking people have abandoned her and doesn’t handle that in the best of ways
she is an incredibly loyal friend at the end of the day
and can often be spotted around town on her long board or even roller skates when she isn’t driving.
the most obvious place to always find jo kirby is down at the softball fields, no matter the weather.
