Flying home to NYC today and reflecting on what today really means to me. 15 years ago our city was reshaped and reborn. Now I can't say all the negativity of war, terror, and fear is behind us but it has proved that our everyday citizens can and WILL become larger-than-life heroes when tested. Our city may never look the same but our diverse and emboldened people will ALWAYS rise above. Thank you to all NYPD, FDNY, EMS, and first responders who put their life on the line to save strangers regardless of sex, race, or religion. If these brave men and women can look past our differences, so should we. Lesson is to love your neighbor and to look for the good in everyone first.
