Lately I've been geeking out to Paul McCartney's bass lines so I set this to my new lock screen. #paulmccartney #rickenbacker
Hello!
Hello to all my follwers and thank you for any and all support you may have given me. I usually don't post much here but I will start posting a lot of poetry that I've been working on. Anyways, I hope you guys like it and many thanks!
White Limbs
A stroll through the old trees of residence
t’was all I wanted.
When all of a sudden
as I look to the east and west and back again
I see the red oaks painted white!
I couldn’t think,
nor could I speak
of the things that might have happened
to the poor trees which I called close to home.
The lumber yard growing small,
jobs were lost and so were limbs
for the trees won’t be so easily claimed.
The immense beauty and stature,
sought out to beautify the Earth,
make the air pure.
Now there are none, in this place I call home.
Eric Marienthal doing what he does best. I feel so humbled to be able to be around such a great #musician (at California State University, Monterey Bay)
We would totally buy this.

WHEN LEARNING ABOUT MUSIC THEORY
Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn. They teach you there’s a boundary line to music. But, man, there’s no boundary line to art.

Bird would play the melody he wanted. The other musicians had to remember what he played. He was real spontaneous, went on his instinct. He didn’t conform to Western ways of musical group interplay by organizing everything. Bird was a great improviser ad that’s where he thought great music came from and what great musicians were about. His concept was “fuck what’s written down.” Play what you know and play that well and everything will come together — just the opposite of the Western concept of notated music. — Miles Davis
