What is an Elopement?
Eloping is no longer running away and getting married in secret, unless you want it to be.
Nowadays elopments are planned intimate affairs. Often in a location the couple does not live in.
I consider an elopment to be 20 guests or under, and just the two of you is just as good. And even 20 guests is pushing it, as after you go over 20 guests that's when you'll start needing more wedding like things; such as chairs, more decor, seating charts, etc.
In America, the average, yes average, wedding costs about 33,900-35,000 dollars. Who has that on hand? The average elopment costs about 5000-15,00 dollars, and can cost even less if you want!

And with little to no guests, the day can be much more flexible and about what you want as a couple. With the extra money you're saving, you can hire a nice photographer, go all out on your dress or go somewhere expensive that you've always wanted to visit like Greece. With no guests you can stay at the venue longer after the ceremony, you can change plans on the fly and go eat at a nice restaurant instead of going swimming like you planned, or you can hike to a hidden place to get married.
You dont even have to wear a dress. Feel free to wear a 3 piece suit, a romper, or a jumpsuit. You dont have to have flowers, a veil or even rings. It's all up to you!
On the opposite end you can have more traditional elements if you want. You can do a bouqet toss, exchange rings, or do a first dance!
An elopment is all about you two as a couple.
