// Finding Eden Photo
What we are currently doing? - So we haven’t really spoken about this as it just kind of happened... - Whilst we were travelling we met lots of photographers who asked to have shoots with us which we were super surprised about but each one of them said that we should consider doing this for work. And now just a few months later here we are in Germany for our our first official workshop as “models”... crazy right?!? There will be 14 photographers shooting us on Sunday and until then we have a few shoots lined up with different photographers across Germany! - I guess for us this is another dream job that we are actually getting to experience! - What is your dream job? - - - - - 📸 - @weirich_fotografie - - - - - #vintagehochzeit #hochzeitsfotografwiesbaden #hochzeitsreportage #bohowedding #weddinginspiration #coupleshooting #retrostory #bohobouquet #weddingcouple #elopmentlove #Afterweddingshooting #loveandwildhearts (at Gent, Belgium) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEozMEZAciw/?igshid=1raeyzfwc8m5x
I decided instead of the classic bouquet I'm going to carry a lantern with flowers in it!
What is an Elopement?
Eloping is no longer running away and getting married in secret, unless you want it to be.
Nowadays elopments are planned intimate affairs. Often in a location the couple does not live in.
I consider an elopment to be 20 guests or under, and just the two of you is just as good. And even 20 guests is pushing it, as after you go over 20 guests that's when you'll start needing more wedding like things; such as chairs, more decor, seating charts, etc.
In America, the average, yes average, wedding costs about 33,900-35,000 dollars. Who has that on hand? The average elopment costs about 5000-15,00 dollars, and can cost even less if you want!

And with little to no guests, the day can be much more flexible and about what you want as a couple. With the extra money you're saving, you can hire a nice photographer, go all out on your dress or go somewhere expensive that you've always wanted to visit like Greece. With no guests you can stay at the venue longer after the ceremony, you can change plans on the fly and go eat at a nice restaurant instead of going swimming like you planned, or you can hike to a hidden place to get married.
You dont even have to wear a dress. Feel free to wear a 3 piece suit, a romper, or a jumpsuit. You dont have to have flowers, a veil or even rings. It's all up to you!
On the opposite end you can have more traditional elements if you want. You can do a bouqet toss, exchange rings, or do a first dance!
An elopment is all about you two as a couple.
Jo's Elopement Planning
This blog was formerly just an aesthetic wedding blog that I ran when I was young, but my love for weddings has not changed. Merely grown and matured.
My name is Jo! I'm a 22 year old bride who is in the middle of planning my elopment wedding. I had tried to plan a full blown wedding several times only for them to flop. Whether it was money, family feuding or covid 19, it was always something. Exasperated, I decided screw it. Me and my fiance are eloping! I've never looked back sense and I'm convinced eloping is the best way to get married.
I've wanted to be a wedding planner for a long time, I've always loved the idea. Not for the party aspect but for the show of love. To pledge yourself to someone forever, to be willing to tell the story of your love in the form of vows, a set mood and a wonderful day. But it seems like nowadays, from learning what I have about the industry and from trying to plan my own wedding, that's not what weddings are about. It's about the guests and what they'll like, what they like to eat, when they want to dance, what music theyll like, etc. That's just ridiculous! A marriage is about the two of you and your love, not Uncle Jerald and his peanut allergy or Aunt Gertrude and her love of peonies.
So I have decided to specialize in elopments. Everyone is still thinking of elopments as running away to Las Vegas and getting married by an elvis impersonator or settling for a courthouse wedding. But it doesnt have to be that way.
I want to specialize in luxury elopments, destination elopments. Elopments with a small handful of guests, elopments with just the couple in the mountains and amazing backdrops, something personal and meaningful.
You could elope in Hawaii on the sandy beaches in a sun dress and handpicked flowers, barefoot and reciting handwritten vows, or in New Orleans with a second line behind you, dancing along the streets in a short dress.
The best part of eloping; it saves you money, helps to save the planet and you're free to decide what YOU want on YOUR day!
I'm happy to be documenting my planning journey and giving tips along the way.
