In Need of A Break// Katherine & Jo
Katherine continued to lean against the counter to engage in conversation with Jo. She first noticed their height difference and found it cute. The satyr was taller than a lot of other girls but that never seemed to bother her. It was easier being taller than a girl than a guy. ” That made it sound like I was popular, ” Katherine teased about how she was known. As she listened to what she had to say, it made sense why Jo knew who she was. A smile appeared on her face and she found it nice that people were talking about her over something positive as opposed to negative. “I guess that is me.” Katherine replied. She didn’t throw titles around when it came to her relationships, but it had to be classified as something once in a while.” That sounds like him. He actually is incredibly helpful. I wouldn’t have gotten back on my feet as fast without him. It’s nice to meet you, Jo. I guess it’s a good thing you met someone like him when you first got here as opposed to a complete ass. It could have changed your entire perspective of this town. ” Katherine had really never heard Jo brought up in the past, but she didn’t think anything of it. Everyone had friends and they didn’t always have to be discussed. It was part of having a private life
Jo grinned at the other girl and raised an eyebrow. “Is that something unusual?” she asked teasingly. She didn’t know much about the Satyr, but August had been really worried about her. Jo didn’t see or talk to August as much as she would have liked, with everything that had been going on and apparently still was they both had been wrapped up in other things. And now, with that strange message he had received, she was just a tad worried about him. “He’s the best, you are really lucky to have him. Everyone should have an August in his life. And yes, things could have gone really sideways if I had not run into him of all people.” The coffee was ready then and with an apologetic smile she turned away from the other girl and retrieved it. She put the cup and a lid down in front of her and smiled. “So, August didn’t tell me much about you, what is it you’re doing when we’re not all in mortal danger?” she asked. So what? Maybe she was a little protective of her friend. “On the house,” she said grinning.
Decisions ✧ Dylan & Jo
He couldn’t believe that he had been so wrapped up in his head that he didn’t even realize the person he was addressing worked there. “Oh shit, my bad…” He shook his head and chuckled absentmindedly. Dylan was sure that she thought he was a complete moron and he didn’t blame her. “Yeah, Jo right? It’s nice to see you again.” There had been a strange atmosphere in their conversation when he had seen her at the party and while he was certainly intrigued to learn what was going on he didn’t want to make the girl feel uncomfortable. He remembered her saying she was a foster and if that were true it would make perfect sense if she were apprehensive towards him. “So you work for Alex huh?” Dylan really needed to talk to him again if he was going to continue the work with the families, sooner rather than later.
Jo smiled at him and nodded. “Yep, that’s me,” she said clearing some cups off the table balancing them on a tray. “It’s that obvious, huh?” she asked playfully. She was in a good mood and the guy was friendly after all or otherwise her comment would have been a lot snarkier. “I really got lucky when I came to Atlanta. Best decision I made my whole life. You couldn’t find better people anywhere else if you tried.” She really didn’t want to give him any details about she really ended up in Atlanta, she wasn’t sure exactly what strings Jonah had pulled and didn’t want to get him into trouble. “So … are you okay? You seem to have pretty heavy thoughts.”

Jo: Hi boss
Jo: I need may 13th to 15th off. That okay?
Shopping Trip → Jo & Ivy
Ivy had been able to get out of her meeting a bit early to go and meet Jo to spend the afternoon shopping. She’d bought a coffee and was waiting outside the Starbucks sipping her drink when she sensed Jo’s presence and looked up with a smile. She pushed up her sunglasses and smiled at her friend, hugging her back. “Hey, Jo.” Ivy laughed slightly at the mention of looking better and shrugged, “Thank you. I’m, uh, trying to eat more.” It wasn’t that she’d ever purposely avoided food but for the past few months she’d lost her appetite completely and had probably lost a good seven or eight pounds which, on her already slight frame, was significant.
"So, are you ready to shop? I need to get a dress for an event in Richmond in about three weeks. Are you getting summer clothes or?" She was glad to spend time with the Spriggan, it had honestly been far too long.
It felt good that they seemed to fall back into their old routine easily. The past few weeks had been rough but it seemed everyone and everything was now on the way up again. And spending time with Ivy again, like they used to before their fight, felt especially good.
“What kind of event?” she asked curiously before addressing Ivy’s other question that she would actually like to avoid completely. “And yeah … I guess so. What are the summers like in Atlanta anyway?” she asked so she wouldn’t have to answer the question right away. She definitely needed summer clothes. She had come to Atlanta in winter and only brought a few things so she actually had no summer clothes at all. Additionally her birthday was coming up and after that she could take her GED without having to register with a state-approved education program first.
Things were really getting serious and she needed money for the fees, so she couldn’t just run around and spend her money on anything that wasn’t absolutely necessary. But she needed at least some clothes.
“So, let’s get your dress first, that really seems more important, then we can look around some more and see if we find anything else and after that we go grab something to eat. How does that sound?”
Shopping Trip → Jo & Ivy
Jo had taken the bus downtown to meet up with Ivy. She was glad that her friend seemed to be doing so much better. The talk with Jonah seemed to have worked wonders and now her friend was out of her house and even back to working again. And just for her benefit she had agreed to meet downtown for a little shopping while. True there were some things she could use, like new clothes for the coming summer, but she didn’t really have a lot of moneys to spare. She really wanted to safe up as best as she could so that she could maybe actually go to college someday. She knew that there were a lot of people who would give her the money without blinking or even asking if they would get the money back, but that’s not what Jo wanted. She felt bad enough for depending on Jonah as much as she did and she wanted to accomplish something on her own in her life. But Ivy didn’t need to know that, she didn’t want to worry her further. So she would just buy some little things she absolutely needed anyway.
Stepping off the bus downtown she turned the corner and spotted Ivy in front of Starbucks. Increasing her speed lightly she walked over to her friend, waving at her from a few feet away already. “Hi!” she said smiling brightly hugging her friend excitedly. Sure she had been pretty busy too, but that didn’t mean that she had not missed spending time with her. “I missed you. You look lots better by the way. I’m glad.”
Helping Hands // Emma & Jo
Emma smiled, “Well, I’m glad to meet you know, even if I wasn’t able to then.” At Jo’s clarification, she nodded, laughing slightly. “Oh, I wasn’t going to. I just think that it’s nicer to talk while sitting down. I’m fine with just have a conversation.” Emma led them to her office, opening the door. “Here we are.”
Jo ducked her head a little. ‘If you can’t follow the rules we will have you put away in the nuthouse,’ was a threat she had heard more than one in her time in foster care; it wasn’t something that helped her feel comfortable right now. Even though she knew that nothing like that would happen. “Yes, of course,” she said looking around curiously while she followed the woman. “Oh this is nice,” she said upon entering. “Who did it for you?” she asked and then clasped a hand over her mouth. “Oh my God. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean ….” She sighed quietly. “Yeah, that would be one of my problems, that my mouth works a lot faster than my brain. So uhm … should I leave?” she asked not sure if she had offended Emma.
In Need of A Break// Katherine & Jo
Katherine made eyes contact with the redhead behind the counter. She had seen her face around town for the last few months, but she didn’t really know her. The satyr leaned against the counter slightly as she looked over the choices. She practically would live at Logos, but the past few months were spent trying to finish school and trying to block out the damage from being shot. Katherine tilted her head slightly at the professionalism of the girl. She had to admit, she didn’t hear it often even if it may have just been put on for a job, ” Can I just get an Americano. I’m trying to stay awake,” Katherine replied with a half smile. ” I don’t think we’ve ever formally met. I’m Katherine” She added, being polite. She needed to practice it, if she was going to make friends as opposed to losing them.
Jo smiled and nodded at the other woman’s request and turned around to prepare the coffee before turning back around to the satyr. “No, we have not,” she agreed. The two of them had never run into each other. “But I know who you are,” she added friendly. “You’re August’s girlfriend. I’m Jo. August is a good friend, he helped me big time back when I first came to Atlanta.” Jo was actually curious about Katherine, something about her had to be special if August was so head over heels for her. Sure she was really pretty but Jo was certain that this was not the deciding factor for August.

Ivy: For my last one actually. I'm getting reprinted (: and not really, I'm going to be downtown, do you want to meet up?

Helping Hands // Emma & Jo
Emma smiled at the young voice and nodded. “That makes perfect sense.” She pushed away from the desk and took up her cane. “Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone who can be an objective listener.” Emma smiled and nodded her head in the direction of her own office. “We can talk in my office if you like.” She held out a hand, “I’m Emma by the way, I don’t think we’ve met before.”
Jo smiled a little; she had seen the woman at the memorial but since she was blind she was sure the other woman wouldn’t recognize her. “Well actually I’ve seen you at the memorial,” she said to let her know that she was at least a friend, even if she wouldn’t tell her that she was a mythic herself. Although if she wanted real advice she should probably let the woman know. It was a difference if you had decades or centuries to figure out your life after all. “It’s nice to meet you Emma,” she said friendly. “But just to be clear I don’t need my head shrunk or anything like that. Although a lot of people might disagree on that,” she said jokingly still fighting against her nerves.
In Need of A Break// Katherine & Jo
It had been a few months since nearly losing her life and Katherine had gotten back into the swing of thing’s. Sure, some nights were spent waking in cold sweat over the dreams she was experiencing, bit the satyr had a knack for compartmentalizing the smallest details. She dove back into work, trying to make sure that this spring was her last semester. It made her scarce, but it was therapeutic. Katherine finally had a break after classes and swung into her home away from home in the hopes to have a little bit of a distraction before the boring life of a college student made itself known again. The young satyr entered the coffee shop and let out a sigh. She put her best smile on her face and headed to the counter. She deserved the smallest break and this was it.
Jo had the late shift at Logos today and since the weather was real nice it was a pretty slow afternoon. Most people were out strolling through one of the parks and enjoying ice cream. Only the hardcore regulars showed up like clockwork. She had just cleaned off one of the few tables that had been occupied when the doorbell rang announcing a customer. Looking up she smiled friendly at the Satyr. Jo didn’t really know her but had seen her around and she knew from Jonah that she had nearly died during the attack. But now the other girl looked fine. Stepping behind the counter she smiled again. “Welcome to Logos. What can I do for you at this mighty fine day?”
Helping Hands // Emma & Jo
Emma heard the doorbell jingle over her and Elliot’s office door. She turned her head in the direction and offered whomever was walking through a friendly smile. “Good afternoon! Is there something I could help you with?” She’d seen quite a good number of people, both humans and Mythics alike, over the past week and a half since their opening. Even though she was still healing from her own ordeal in the camp, Emma knew that the best way to really do so was to help other’s heal as well. Maybe it was a bit of her pushing away her own issues for a little bit, but whatever it was made her feel good; she’d always loved being able to help other people and now with their practice, she’d be more fully able to.
Jo had thought about this for a while now. She still didn’t know what to do after she would get her GED but she had the vague idea that she wanted to do something to help people. But that wasn’t really narrowing it down a lot. It could be anything from working as a barista to becoming a doctor; that was a very wide range. She didn’t want to talk to Jonah, or any of her friends about it right now; she wanted to talk to someone who didn’t know her and her past, someone who was unbiased. So when she, by coincidence, saw the blind woman and realized that she was a psychiatrist, she decided that she was perfect. After her shift at Logos ended she went over and entered, not quite sure how to even begin when the woman already greeted her. “Uhm, hi,” she said stepping closer not wanting to be rude. “I’m not entirely sure honestly. I need some advice from someone not close to me, if that makes any sense,” she said stuffing her hands into her pockets nervously.
