Anniversary || Eva & Emma
With a bit of difficulty and a heavy sigh Eva lowered herself down onto a bench. It was a beautiful day and she was not about to spend it inside. A text from her mother had brought new thoughts spinning through her mind. It had been a little over a year since she had packed up her life and moved to Atlanta. A year since she had begun the spiral downwards that had led her to where she sat now. A year since she had met Alex, and Phoebe, and Chloe, and Julian, and Colin. She still thought about the Leprechaun often, missing her friend and the laughs he always inspired. It had been a year since she had begun this life, and now she felt cemented to this city. Atlanta was home now, and where she would raise her son. Before long he would be here, gracing the world with a beautiful smile. Anticipation filled her and she laughed without realizing it. Someone passing heard her and glanced over their shoulder at her. “Life can be a funny thing.” She offered the sentence as explanation.
Emma had been walking around Freedom Park for a bit that afternoon, enjoying the warm weather and cool breeze. As she did so, she listened to children playing and parents laughing and just as she was passing a bench, she heard someone laugh but didn't hear anyone else speak so she titled her head slightly shifting it over her shoulder in what she presumed to be their direction. As the familiar voice spoke, Emma smiled and nodded. "Funny and beautiful, I think. Eva, right?" She'd always had a knack for remembering familiar voices.
