This is a tough post but a special one. Take a good look at this basket...It was made by my father over 18 years ago. He kept it for himself an he rarely left the house without it. It was his favourite basket of the many he made. Most people around Annapolis Royal will remember him wearing it at the Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings. Doctors and nurses in Kentville and Halifax will remember it sitting by his bed on the many stays he spent in hospital. It’s been re-strapped, re-lashed, and had weavers replaced many times over the years. It’s weathered, well loved, admired by many and has lasted years past what could be expected for the use it has seen. It’s funny how much this old basket parallels my Dad’s own journey...Rest easy, Dad.
