Advice please!!!
Okay so, I’m writing a book. I’ve been ‘writing a book’ for the past few years but I always abandoned them or changed them so much that they’re a different book. But now I’ve got a plot and I think it’s going to stick. But, my problem is that I know the middle of the story and exactly what I’m going to write for it but I’m having trouble with the beginning.
The plot of the story is that a girl is sent away by her parents to an island to live with her aunt because of her weird powers. The island is filled with people with lots of different powers and she can sense that. Lots of stuff happens and after a load of confusion, she starts getting training for her powers. She unlocks and learns new cool things she can do. There’s a big baddie and demons and the usual stuff.
The beginning is this:
It comes in flashes It always does. Until I wake up. And the flashes are real.
I see a village. Emerald fields. White cliffs, waves crashing against rocks. An island. And a voice. Two voices. “Hi, I’m-” “Blake”. I see warm hazel eyes looking at me, then they shift to a cold, unfeeling blue, like ice.
Then, I wake up. I’ve had that dream every night for the past week so I know it’s important. I just wish it would happen already.
“Eden, you’re going to be late.” My mother shouts from downstairs.
“Late for what?” I mutter confusedly and of course, she hears it.
“Your trip.” She replies. What trip?
That’s the end of the first page. Please comment on what you think about it, even if you don’t like it. Also, people reading my other stories, school has started back up so I will be updating less often. I am actually going to update it in the next hour or so, so bye!
