That’s it. No more waiting.
Claudia had the gut feeling that something was wrong. And she also had the distinct sense that it involved Wyatt. Perhaps it was just paranoia talking, but with one moment’s hesitation, she stepped out of the party boundaries and strode into the dark forest. She clenched her fists to give herself some extra bravery, as she ignored a distant twig snapping. Shrugging off every whisper inside her telling her to turn back around, she walked faster. She pulled a pokeball from her pocket and her Zigzagoon landed quietly beside her feet, falling in step with her. “Keep me company for a little bit, Iggy. And let me know the minute you see anyone.” Then she began looking around.
“Hello?” the word flew out of her mouth, and the sound was muffled by the trees. “…Wyatt?” She slowed her pace, turning around in circles, sighing helplessly. “Anybody?”

Layla was laying her head on Wyatt’s chest. Maybe when it was daylight, they’d find their way out of here. Just as he was resigning himself to a night spent laying against this tree when a Fletchinder flew up to him. “Um…where did you come from?” Wyatt had barely gotten the words out when he heard….something. He craned his neck and could make out some disturbance in the plants in the distance. For the first time in what felt like hours, Wyatt felt a pinprick of hope. “Hello?”

Josh stumbled over a twig, catching his balance on a tree. God, he was too drunk for this. He was trying to keep up with Fletchinder as best as possible but it was hard when he was intoxicated and it was dark too. He’d be lucky if he didn’t fall and break an ankle or something wandering through the forest like this. He really hoped he wasn’t wandering around for no reason.
He walked forward, Fletch still in his view until she suddenly sped up and flew through a group of trees. “Geez girl, slow down,” he grumbled as he was forced to push his way through a thick group of leafy bushes.
“Fletch?” he whispered, only seeing branches and twigs in front of him. Instead of hearing a chirp in reply, he heard a faint ‘hello’ and either he was that damn wasted or there was actually a person out here. He thanked God when he finally made it to the other side that it was the latter.
“Um...hi?” he waved at the kid leaning against the tree with with his Fletchinder in front of him. He wasn’t sure he knew this him, but he did look slightly distressed. “I’m Josh. Were you the one out here calling for help?”
