Dead@17 Rebirth One Shot

As I am sure you already know POPBOOM is releasing a Dead@17 short film titled Dead@17 Rebirth Directed by Jack Heller which stars CC Weske as Nara Kilday and Lucy Freyer as Hazy Foss.  For its debut at Silicon Valley Comic Con Josh made a new One Shot as well as a poster for the film.  Both of these are going to be available on March 30th for those who couldn’t attend the convention on POPBOOM’s website http://www.popboom.com/shop-1/

A rare Pink Sketchbook for auction

Josh has a listed a copy of the rare pink sketchbook from his personal collection on ebay.  This is only the 5th pink sketchbook that I have seen in my time collecting Josh’s work. All 4 of those copies came out of the woodwork in 2013 and I haven’t seen any since so it is a rare opportunity to add this book to your collection. It might be years before another copy turns up. Dead@17: The Complete Collection No Longer a Hardcover

Image Comics has made the most idiotic decision and decided instead of publishing the Dead@17: The Complete Collection as a Hardcover to print it as a Paperback.  As someone who pre-ordered the book as a Hardcover way back in January I am extremely disappointed. I actually don't see why they would change the format after they have been taking pre-orders for a Hardback for as long as they have.  I am sure there will be some very upset people that receive a Paperback when they thought they would be receiving a Hardcover.

Josh’s masterpiece deserves the Hardcover treatment and not some cheap Paperback treatment.  As one of Josh’s long time readers I have been awaiting the day that Dead@17 would be available in a beautiful Hardcover edition but I guess we are going to have to wait even longer for that.  Hopefully one day it will come true.  If I wasn’t a completist I would cancel my pre-order but alas I have to have a copy even though the idiots at Image Comics decided to screw-up what should have been the go-to collection of Dead@17.

The Dead@17 Finale

As I am sure you already know the very final issue of Dead@17 is being released tomorrow (April 1st, 2015).  We had to wait 3 years for Josh to conclude the series but it was worth the wait. The issue thus far have lead up to what can only be described as a fantastic finale. I have say that it I am sad to see this amazing series end.  Unlike some of you I didn’t find the series when it was first released.  I didn’t find out about it until near the end of Dead@17: The Thirteenth Brother so I had a lot of catching up to do but ever since it has been one of my favorite series.  

Dead@17 is the comic that lead me to collect art.  I didn’t realize you could actually own the art used to create the books I enjoyed until I stumbled upon some pages that Josh had listed on ebay.  One of the pages that I picked up that day was from Dead@17: The Thirteenth Brother Issue 4.  Since that time I have been addicted to collecting art and one of my ongoing goals is to reassemble that issue.  

Anyway it has been an awesome ride up to this point and having already read the final issue I can say Josh came up with a very fulfilling conclusion to his epic series.  I know everyone is going to love it.  I can’t wait to see what Josh works on next.  Whatever it is, I know it will be amazing just like everything he else he has created for us to enjoy.

Josh is offering a special edition issue for the final issue of Dead@17 The Blasphemy Throne #7.  The book is up for pre-order in Josh's shop and will have bonus material not included in the mass market copies.  Just thought I would give everyone a heads up.

The Dead@17: The Blasphemy Throne #1 Exclusive Covers Revealed

Josh tweeted this picture of all 3 exclusive covers.  I have to say I love the one of Nara in her school girl uniform.  It takes me right back to issue #1.  It's like it has come full circle for the series.  I can't wait to get my copies.

Dead@17: The Blasphemy Throne Gofundme complete

Well the bad news is that the Gofundme did not meet it's goal of $5000.  The good news though is that Josh decided he is going to go ahead and make the 3rd cover as a thank you for those that pledged since we did get so close to the goal. Josh said that everyone that pledged to the campaign is going to be getting one so it might end up being another very exclusive cover that is only going to be available through the Gofundme.  I guess we will just have to wait and see. I for one can't wait to see what the 3rd cover is going to be.

Dead@17 Gofundme Campaign ends on July 1st

The deadline for getting your pledges in for the Dead@17: The Blasphemy Throne #1 campaign is Tuesday July 1st.  If we can reach Josh's goal of $5000 he said he will make a surprise 3rd Exclusive edition for all pledges over $20. As of right now we are shy $535.  I know we can reach the goal if we spread the word so share the link through all of your social medias and lets get it funded!!!
