Eliott Yonts

Illustrator & Designer Eliott Yonts (they/them) is a Brooklyn-based designer and emerging library professional with interests in special collections, community archives, and queer archival theory. They hold a BFA in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute, with minors in Museum Practices and Book Art, and are currently pursuing an MS in Library and Information Science at Pratt Institute. Their work centers on printed ephemera, artist books, and printmaking, with a particular interest in play as a subject of study.

How Princesses Raised Me

This book is a reflection of my relationship and current disconnect with girlhood growing up.  Princesses helped me express my gender as a child and stand as an important symbol of my past identity. I morn the loss of my younger self and wonder if she is still part of me.

Designed a potential magazine cover with themes of sustainable fashion. I was inspired by recycled and DIY fabrics such as crochet and knitting. Characters were made of cut out wallpaper samples and bristol board. They were scanned and colored digitally.
