We love because we love
What do you do when what you love causes so much pain? Why would anyone keep doing it? If you knew the outcome would you still elect to hurt? Of course you would. We don’t love for no other reason than to love.
It’s one of the few things that we just DO.
We love because we love.
We love simply because we can. We choose to hurt. We choose to hurt because love gives us a chance to feel hope; to feel needed; to feel important.
It makes us feel as though there is someone, in all the universes vastness, that is just perfect for you. Well, there was no magic hand that did this. They are not an accident either.
They, like you choose to be that ONE person. They choose to laugh, hurt, and drop dead with you. That is our ultimate choice. That is love. THAT is a beautiful thing.
The Economy of playing God
In economics we are taught that lost output today is lost output forever. Meaning, you can never go back. Even if I work twice as hard one day to "make up" for working half as hard on another, it still will be worth less than working twice as hard on both days. If that is the case, then mankind has forever, and irreversibly destroyed the evolution of life in this universe. We have destroyed the most incredible animals, plants, insects, and even single celled organisms. We even have a habit of killing our own kind. Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Archimedes, and Socrates. Imagine the change they could have continued to bring if left alive. Can you? You can't. There is no telling, and there never will be. Lost output now, is lost output forever. There is no reconciliation for the destruction of life, of which we are now solely responsible
In the Shadow
So that's it then.
A blade sank deep in to my soul today.
For a long time I was raised on this idea that our existence meant something. We were doing all kinds of things in order to prove it too. We mastered land. sea, air, and are even venturing into space. I was proud to be a human. I suppose that started to change as I grew older. Now my life is radically different.
This blade has been edging its way towards everyone, and not just me. We let it. The truth is we are allowing ourselves to feel like we are not a part of this planet; that we are not a part of the ecosystems, the rules, and the facts that balance it. We all think that we've got a special star for us somewhere, yet can't even fathom the cost of our privileged existence.
As the blade pierces our soul we don't even take notice. The race that fancies themselves as being created in a divine image, isn't acting very divine.
So what is this blade? Well, first I noticed this sharp pain in my chest while I was taking the time to educate myself. That's a dangerous thing these days. I was watching a video on the environmental impact of humans having killed 90% of our Earths shark population in just a few years.
I learned that sharks help control the population of fish that eat plankton and other oxygen producing creatures, which accounts for 70% of all breathable air....neat. I knew it was getting harder to breathe. but it wasn't the quality of the air. Instead I learned about how sharks actually feared us.
That's right. Numerous studies show that most sharks scatter at the sight of a person. The most notorious of all killers in the ocean are afraid of men. What does that say about us? Did you know that you can even pet wild sharks? Did you know that they'll circle around you like a cat when you do? Hah. Adorable.
As I was able to breathe again.
I watched a shark get tugged out of the water. This top predator was ensnared by a rusty hook. A small piece of shit hook pulled it up onto a piece of shit junk boat. Then it's fins were slowly sawed off by a piece of shit knife. A creature designed to perfection was being brought down.
I tightened my fist and clenched my teethe as I watched the anticlimactic struggle. I thought, maybe he'll get the fisherman's hand or a foot, or even his finger, but no. Instead, the gorgeous display of sheer will by the shark was trumped by the brutality of man. Think about that last sentence really hard. I watched what seemed like gallons of blood poor out of this fin-less "killer."
He was still fighting. The fisherman were laughing. The cameraman zoomed in on the shark as it fought. The camera man wanted you to know it was alive, and focused on the shark helplessly looking back at the camera and blinking. That's when I felt that piece of shit knife in my soul. I too was hooked and helpless.
"So that's it then." I said that to the shark.
It was like me. Just watching. Our lives, our blood being spilled out and wasted over corporate greed. The shark and I both knew it. We both relaxed. We both gave up. The fisherman looked into the camera, and then into the sharks eye and threw us off the ship. I could hear him laugh just before the waves coming off this ship filled our ears.
The shark and I slid underneath the waves. We weren't going to survive. We were going to sink to the depths of the ocean in a cloud of blood. As I went with it I noticed the water was calm. I felt the cold lucid water surround me. A gentle current swept us along .
I was glad to slip away from the crude piece of shit "humanity" and drown in the shadow of this creatures greatness. If that's what being a human was then I am not human. Soon after we both landed at the rocky bottom. In our final moments I reached out to touch the dying giant.
Then, along with the gentle current came a torrent of debris. I searched for the shark with my hand but could not find it. I attempted to gasp something, anything. I looked with my eyes but could not see. I heard nothing but the soft sound of being buried under Coke cans and magazines, cheap clothes and beer bottles.
The only thing I could touch, was the very thing that killed me. I couldn't die next to a creature like this if I wanted to. I knew this was the closest I would ever get to being free. I would die being drowned by my "fellow" man, buried in the byproducts of profit. At least the shark put up a fight.
Sharks have survived for 400 million years and several global extinctions. It's not wonder they run from us. They seem to have a nack for avoiding the worst the universe has to offer.
I doubt people will even survive themselves. I just hope we all die before we kill everything else along with us.
There is no reconciliation for the destruction of life, of which we are now solely responsible
So that's it then.
Looking Back. (first form)
When I look back
I miss her smile. It was the biggest I'd ever seen, pure and free
When I look back
deep down I was really mad at myself for the mistakes that I knew I'd make
When I look back
Obviously the whole thing was a mess, it was perfectly messy, for my taste
When I look back
I laugh at how clueless I was, but life is better that way, any day
When I look back
I can't determine if we were worth the pain. Life is pain. But the high's and lows make it hard to tell. oh well.
When I look back
I knew there was no way we could have sustained our relationship, but I believed in it regardless.
When I look back
I notice that I held up my end of the deal to my bitter end and back again.
Come to think of it, when I look back
I knew the risk and i took it, I'm glad I did that. I did not fold, I did not bend.
Now that it's on my mind, When I look back
I almost wish I would have died before we ended. Maybe even right in the beginning.
looking back
I realize that in a way, I did.
Not normally my thing, but who the heck would say no??
Half Speed Free Fall
I'm not connected so I plug in my soul, hardwired to spit fire
it shoots through my pours and legs, out of my hands and head
I don't stand a chance, but I'll still stand like a man I'll steal
the opportunity away and you'll always remember this day
Each Day I grow stronger, the numbers add up as burdens stack up
Have I had enough? enough is enough, still I get pushed too much
and when I get pushed I act, and react, if this is the end I'll be back again
and you'll remember when you hear the sound as I blow out your speakers
Forgive me for taking so long to reach this point but I'm here. Ready.
I won't hesitate another second because each second I wait, I waste
I can taste it. and make it, I can't stop it. I'll just have to rock with it.
It hurts but I have to live for myself and because there is no one else.
optional lyrics
(I cry out, because I can't fight, another day like last night.
dont go, How can I tell If I made it. If this room is so dark
How can I see in a place like this? I don't think I have the heart
It hurts but I have to live for myself and no one else.)
Mood Swings
Some people have mood swings. I have a mood orbiting. I keep free falling around this idea that i can be happy. I can see it, but I never quite land.
I hate myself.
There is a greatness in me that terrifies me. To be great is to be unique is to be alone.
I hate myself because I’m afraid to be great because I hate myself.
My Actions define me. I think.
As I sat at my desk and listened to "Carmen Suite for Orchestra No. 1" by Bizet, Georges a beautiful moth crawled out of hiding from under my guitar amp. It promptly began circling around me. I took my headphones off to step away. It landed directly on the speakers where it stayed. I let it listen to a few more measures before releasing it into the night air.
Fear
It has come to my understanding that we fear two very important aspects of growing. We fear being wrong, and we fear being right. It has become my morale obligation as a man to resist both fears. Although, it is not my morale obligation as a law abiding citizen. Nor is it an act of patriotism or nationalism. It is my morale obligation as a free human being,
In all fairness both are equally frightful. To be wrong is to admit that your free mind in all its calculating and computing power has come to an incorrect solution. Sad is the day when an adding machine can no longer add. If it cannot do this then what use is it? To be right is to accept the responsibility of sharing your findings. What happens when your paper is not read, nor your article published? Sad is the day when people are not only the destruction of themselves, but they are so through willing ignorance.
Ignorance is bliss they say, but bliss by ignorance is not sustainable, and therefore must be eliminated. I cannot ask such an arduous task of you without putting my on wrist on the line. I can't ask you to resist the urge of apathy, or the calling of comfort. Well, I can but not before allowing my own life blood to flow out. In this way you can recognize the sincerity of what I am saying. So, I will tell you how my fear of being right and wrong work in an insufferable tandem.
They have intertwined most recently in my affairs of love. Cliche' perhaps, but one has to admit that things are cliche' for a reason. I must admit that I fear love. Not only do I fear love, but I fear the want to love, the desire, the passion. It frightens me. It doesn't frighten me because I was always this way. Instead it was beaten in to me. The iron fist of life pounded away with its smith'ing hammer to bend me in this shape. I was once molded to have the soul of another fill this empty caste. Now I am flattened.
I had always wanted love before. I sought it out with vigor and enthusiasm. I was eager and excited to feel it. I was right to do so. After being beaten, betrayed and spit out the only conclusion I could come to was that I was wrong. So, here I am in this sate of questioning my own computing power. Surely I must be have been wrong and true love does not exist. If it did why would I feel this way? Would true love allow me such torture? Would love allow such anguish and pain? Or do you have to feel this anguish and pain in order to love?
This now brings us to this point. I fought for love and admitted defeat, thinking all was lost. I in a way let myself be wrong. Now, I have been living as though I am now right. However, in admitting I live the way I do out of fear, I am again wrong. What then should I do? Should I allow myself to freely love and suffer? Or should I allow my fear to protect me from this suffering, but also they joy of love? This is where I, your humble narrator leave to ponder more.
What's it going to be then, eh?
I saw this at Art Basel in South Beach. The whole piece is perfect. Probably my fucking favorite out of the whole gallery.
Forgiveness.
We are all entitled to grow. We are expected to learn and mature. Mistakes that are made and pain that we cause, in a fair world, should be reconciled. I find it humorous that I constantly observe the biggest tragedy of awareness. I observe people thinking that awareness of improper actions somehow constitutes forgiveness.
It’s ludicrous, yet we all know people who are like that. Sometimes we even guard their behavior. People get hurt and suddenly our defense jumps in ” They aren’t normally like that”, ” They’re actually pretty nice once you get to know him/her.”. “It’s not you, she’s/he’s just in a bad mood.” Okay, thanks? Good thing you said that or else I would…oh wait no, your friend still treated me like a humanoid zombie imp.
You might get lucky and receive and apology, but therein comes your next issue. I am expected to say ” dont worry about it”. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. You should do the same. People ought to not think that their apology equals forgiveness. It doesn’t. It actually is an admittance of error, and an acceptance of punishment.
An apology is supposed to be your way of surrendering your emotions, feelings, and actions to the other. They can choose to maintain a moral code but they do not have to. The offended have every right to defend themselves and express how you made them feel. If you get upset after that then they did it right. You are supposed to be upset. You did wrong.
Business for Bands!
Hey guys! I was thinking. I have to do a whole lot of hard work. A lot of that work is figuring out how exactly a band can survive in a world of incredible competition and low survivability .
Well, luckily for you guys I take business classes. This gives me a MAJOR advantage. These are the kinds of things you'll get from a record label. Well I want to liberate you from that need. I want you to earn a living and do your own things, write songs the way you want, and tour where you want. You get the idea. So let's get in to the juicy stuff.
I'll go through each step one at a time.
The BRIE Self Assessment: Boundaries,-Resources- intention- exchange
but before we do that, I'm telling you how this works. Basically the idea is that each section has a goal for you. You may have already completed that goal, or you may need to work on it. However, it allows you to see what you are lacking and how to balance your efforts. For example below I have the "boundary" section started. You wouldn't want to complete all 7 of those before getting some stuff done in the others. The more balanced and complete the more likely you and your project will succeed.
Boundary, creating a place for your business in space and in peoples mind
Opening a bank account for the business (band)
Registering the business name with the State
Creating Business Cards and or stationary
Purchasing a domain name
Creating a business web site
obtaining a business telephone line
identifying a place for the business at home or elsewhere.
The next post will cover the rest of the goals in the Resources, intention, and exchange section! enjoy!

Am I real? Mirror Mirror: rorriM rorriM. oN
I am in fact talking to myself. Even worse I'm talking to a computer hoping that people who may or may not actually exist will respond.
Self reflection is an incredible tool to improve and understand yourself. Sometimes I wonder how much self reflection is limited by your ability to articulate your feelings. If it is, then does that mean as your ability to articulate becomes more complicated do your emotions become complicated too? Do you, by virtue become a "complicated person?' Philosophy is meant to be a road map to reality. Who's reality?
That's where self reflection hits a wall. The mirror image stares back and says " of course this is real", but is it? That's when the mirror moves from being yourself to what you do; what you surround yourself with; who you surround yourself with; and how you treat them? Still, even if they aren't real to you, those aliens in the closet are very real to me. If you get what I'm getting at.
This means that there is a separate reality for every person on the earth. That isn't to say that it's all BASED on the same thing, but after that base everyone completely diverges from that and develops their own unique understanding of everything around them. So then, bouncing your ideas off of things around you( those ideas, those thoughts of aliens or demons) becomes the only way to know if they are "real." Much as ancient man saw thunder and lighting a proof of God, whereas we see it as proof of static.
So, what does that mean when people have become so alienated from themselves that they no longer have the courage to bounce themselves. We hear it all the time. " I feel like I can't be myself." We go on following these things you are "supposed" to do. Go to school, go to college, get married, have children, get a good job. (not in that order of course). Then, suddenly questioning these things, especially with trying to experiment. Those experiments are met with a violent reaction.
If you skip a single semester you are a drop out. If you don't want relationships because you are too focused on that degree of yours you are a hoebag. (let's use language that really gets thrown at you). Perhaps you want to wear pj's to school. Who cares? A lot of people, but why the FUCK do they care about that (not enough to say it to your face of course)? I make a point to pleasantly respond to any person that I encounter, and that is met many times with anger, or rejection. Anger and rejection.
Is it really that strange I want to talk to the person next to me on the bus? I mean the route is 45 minutes long. How could I possibly sit next to a person for 45 minutes and not once wonder about who you are, where you come from, where you've been and where you are going once you get off the bus? Surely you don't live at the stop. Some people actually do. Some people take the bus just to keep warm.
I find it interesting. I know that everyone questions their existence at some point. So, what happens when that question echoes in an empty vacuum? What happens when you ask someone how their day was and they don't answer? What happens when people don't respond to your calls? Calls to hang out, calls for help by cutting your wrist, they are all the same. If no one answers you ARE NOT REAL.
It doesn't matter if you ARE because you ARE NOT. How do you know if you are when people don't answer? You DON"T. You CAN'T. You could look at pictures, but we all know that those moments only exist in our minds. We could look towards the future. That's even worse. We aren't allowed to dream anymore. Even if you do. It's still a construct of the mind. That means everything that verifies your existence is in your head. When we fail to acknowledge the existence of others they literally cease to exist.
Some people think that this doesn't apply to them. Funny you may think that. Let me ask this. What happens when people don't notice your achievements; your new clothes, your haircut; or how you seem to be upset today? What happens when that degree you worked so hard doesn't get you a job? What happens when your boss doesn't notice how hard you work? You cease to exist. Everything that you did that verifies your reality just became an echo. The mirror of life doesn't reflect, and ergo you are not there.
Now.
Let's get to the main point. Let's talk about me. I am in fact talking to myself. Even worse I'm talking to a computer hoping that people who may or may not actually exist will respond.
Now.
We all know that you can't simply not exist. You have to exist. If you don't then how are you there? I think therefore I am. Yet I don't. Then it happens. You don't know when or how but somehow you turn the table around. You create your own world. Then, that world becomes real. The others suddenly cease to be real. You cast them out as violently as you were cast out. Those people who called you a pot smoking hippie are now stuck up bitch ass white trash. That boss becomes a dick head who pulls money off of a money tree. Why should you care about labor rate?
Suddenly your ego grows. I mean, as much as it has to for you to survive. Did anyone ever wonder why the loner is a loner? They HAVE TO BE. That's where I am.
People don't confirm the existence of my world. So I say "FUCK OFF!" but if they can't hear it, then really I'm saying to myself fuck off. So, fuck me? it's easy to get caught in this spiral. The walls to yourself get higher, and higher, and higher. but who cares? Well, no one it seems.
Suddenly you do what you want, when you want and how you want. At least that's what you're lead to think by virtue of your own ego. Of course you think you are doing what you want. It's the only option you have. What I'm saying is, you create this illusion that you actually had a choice at some point, but we don't.
You say, I could exist to this group "if" I had more money, darker skin, dance moves, whatever. But, YOU DON'T have those things. The very "if" states it is something that is currently not a reality. It states that until you obtain those things you will continue to be nothing. When left with that option why in the shit ass christ (no caps there for a reason) would you chose to join the rest of the world? You wouldn't.
You would do what everyone else in your place. You would do what I do. You would put a wall so high Hercules himself wouldn't climb it. You would give a select few a key to the back door. The tower that is your ego, your self approval, will loom high in the sky. You will be sure that this is you. How could it not be? Even if it wasn't, who's going to tell you otherwise? How would they know?
"they don't know you like that."
And that's exactly how you want it to be. Right?..right?
no answer but my own
I WILL NEVER NOT REBLOG THIS.
