josie: sorry i only stayed in canada for like, a night, but i got a gig in LA i couldn't miss.
josie: but it was really nice meeting you for real, stranger.
josie: how's the cold?
taeyvon:
I felt this exact same way after I broke up with the guy I dated a few years back. It just felt odd being single. Though I could date now, I’m far too busy to find the time to spend with someone else. I’d feel like I’m neglecting them and I don’t want to do that. If I ever learn to flirt, I’ll teach you how. Hmm, I’ve always enjoyed LA whenever I’ve gotten the chance to go there. Maybe you’d find something nice there. Hello Josie! I’m Taeyeon and I’d feel just as lost. I’m sure you’ll figure it all out and I can help you with what I can.
I’m kinda in the same space, like I don’t know if I’d wanna go straight back into dating and relationships and being committed, but you know, I’ve learned to go with the flow and if things are meant to happen, they will. LA’s nice, but after being stuck in traffic for two hours, I can’t wait to get back to New York. Nice to meet you Taeyeon! We can figure it out together!
ayethomas:
i’m pretty sure there’s a good hundred movies about this exact scenario. if i were you, i’d definitely stick around new york. and no, i’m absolutely not biased at all. eight years is a long time, though! were you guys childhood sweethearts or something? if you don’t mind me asking, of course.
And what have we learned in this life if it hasn’t come from movies, am I right? New York is kinda the best, I’m in LA for work a few days, but after spending two whole hours stuck in traffic, I’m very happy to go back to a stuffy New York subway that drops you wherever you wanna go in twenty minutes. We met through mutual friends when we were young, I’d just moved to the states to pursue my modeling career and he came along, we just clicked.
timchclmt:
You need to go out and celebrate…I think? I mean I’ve never been in a relationship for more than a year or so, so I don’t know if you’re in a good or bad mood. I don’t know if I’d be the best person to teach you how to flirt, but I can totally show you around some of the best bars in New York - in my opinion. I much prefer New York to LA, why do you want to move there? Hey Josie, I’m Timothée.
That’s as good a perspective as I’ve ever had, celebrating. I’m in a good mood, at least for now. I’ve been sulking for a month, but now I think it’s time to get over it, move on, start feeling fresh. I’ll take that if you’ll show me around, for sure. I’m in LA until tomorrow, but Saturday night? Drinks on me. LA has some of my work, so I tend to debate on it, but whenever I’m here, like today, I find myself hating the traffic so much, I could never live here for time. Nice to meet you, Timothee. Just saw Dune in the theatre, great great movie.
joncs:
As a man who got married after dating someone for a year and then divorced a year after marriage all I have to say is wow. I could not feel like any more of a failure in this moment. Quite frankly, I don’t know if I would be able to function, but you seem to be doing fine. On the outside, anyway. Kudos to you. How do you flirt, you ask? Someone as beautiful as you doesn’t need to flirt. Just a simple bat of the eyelashes and everyone is passed out on the ground from sheer beauty and grace. However, I’m fully down with being your guinea pig when it comes to flirting. Hi Josie. I don’t know if you remember me, but we’ve met a few times. Went out to dinner after the Balmain fashion show. Wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t remember me though. You batted your eyelashes and I ended up on the ground. Ha, I wish I could say that wasn’t metaphorical. How iconic would that dinner date be? That would be a one for the books. I’m Nick. It’s nice to see you again.
I was engaged for I think like, three years? Alex and I had been together for a really long time, maybe it was like a sign... If we hadn’t gotten married by then, maybe it was never meant to be. It’s better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all, so I think you’re still winning on that, don’t sell yourself short. Oh stop that, you’re so full of it. Hi Nick, I do remember you, how could I not? Thank you for the compliments, they don’t go unnoticed, I just can’t take them as a normal human being. Well, maybe we could recreate that night, we’ll see if I knock you off your feet for real or if you stay on them, that’ll get you a second one.
How’s that for flirting? I felt so awkward. It’s really nice to see you again too, Nick.
harrykane-hw:
It really is. I went on a blind date and I am not doing that again. I agree with what you are saying. You do? Oh. When you say I did, do you mean as in the England team or me as in for scoring that goal.
Really? I’ve not been offered yet, but it sounds kinda terrifying. Did you know who you were meeting? Or did your friends set you up? Both, Harry, both... Just heart wrenching, how sad.
manobanweirdlisa:
Well i am sorry that your relationship didn’t work out, and i been single for a while now so if you need an introduction to the single life i’ll be more than happy to be your wing woman, i would say fancy bars in New York are pretty good but the bars on the beach down in Los Angeles is way more fun to meet young people.
It’s alright, we both kinda decided it was for the best, we were going on different directions, bickering a lot, and after eight years of not having a single big fight, it kinda showed us that maybe we were better off as friends. It sucked, but now I think I can see the good in it. But please, and thank you, I’ll take any wing-woman-ing I can take. I’m in LA for a few days, but I think I’ll be calling New York home, mainly because I’ve got a lot more work there than here.
dcveycamrns:
Oh, babe, this is your best chance to start living your best life. It’s your prime opportunity to say “fuck it” and go out into the world looking hot as hell and not giving a fuck what people think about you. And if you happen to attract some hot people along the way that’s just a bonus.
Oh my... I think that’s the best pep talk I have had in years? How do you do that, can I keep you in my pocket for like, future moments of weakness?
abiersacks:
When I got a divorce a year and a half ago I felt the same way! I’d been with her for so long that I didn’t rally know how to be single either? It ended up working in my favor though and met a fantastic girl that I’ve been with now for a year. I think your best bet is to just not worry too much and go with the flow? Kind of no help on the bar scene since I’ve been sober since 2016 but I live in LA and would suggest it over New York any day of the week. Nice to meet you Josie, I’m Andy and my only assistance is to not stress yourself too much!
That’s amazing! Closing some doors gives us chances to let others open and show us the way into great things, so I’m glad this has worked out for you, bud! Congrats on being sober, though, that’s a great accomplishment. LA is great, but the traffic and not really having much in the way of alternative means of transportation kills me. New York has traffic, but the subway kinda makes it all go away. Very nice to meet you too, Andy! Have you lived in LA for long?
hilltaylcr:
my girl’s back on the town? this takes for a girls night out – ease you right back into the hood. but honestly, i couldn’t tell you how to flirt.. i just say what i think feels right in the moment, you know? and it’s all in the body language, or so i’ve been told. the only way to really pick up tips is to come out and watch others do it, and you know if i can i’ll be on hand to help my girl out. basically, what i’m saying is, we need a girls night out on the town. no, stay in new york.. unless you actually want to move to la? as long as you are happy with where you are, the rest will follow my beautiful girl. don’t be nervous darling, you’re going to smash it! plus your hot as fuck, and so of course your going to have many with attention all on you.
Baby! Yeap, this means you and me out on the town on the daily, please and thank you. Body language I know, but I feel so awkward sometimes, it’s horrible. Oh no, I’m in LA for a day or two filming stuff for the JoJa YouTube channel, but the apartment I rented is in New York. I think the busy city is good for me. I love you so much, and I’ve missed you, Tay! How are you, bee?
hwmackayg:
I can’t say I’ve had even nearly an eight year relationship, but felt at least some degree of the same getting out of a couple year one a little while back. Far from an expert on any of that when I had work to drown myself in for months so I didn’t have to think about the rest of it, but you do adjust to the new normal after a while, if it’s any consolation! May even meet someone even better without the bar scene. I’m George, and my jokes aside, I hope you’re alright.
I’ve been working my tush off for the past month, so between gyms and shoots and trying to sleep on flights, I’ve been keeping myself busy enough to think about things as little as possible. I’m sure it’ll bite me in the ass and I’ll end up crying someday, but it’s good while it lasts. Oh yeah, I mean, that’s another possibility. Very nice to meet you, George, and I am quite alright, I’d like to think. How are you?
adxmdrxver:
Oh wow! Really? That’s awesome! I’m excited that you’re excited to see it. Oh I totally understand what you’re going through. Me and my ex called it a quits basically after the same amount of time, so I can relate. I’m glad you’re pulling yourself out of the sulking. I worked myself like crazy for a year trying to avoid my feelings about it.
I am, I mean, the cast looks pretty freaking amazing. How was working with Lady Gaga? I feel like she’s such a commanding presence, but maybe that’s just my imagination from all the shows I’ve seen her in. Did you enjoy making the film? Oh I’m sorry you went through that, but at least it’s brighter on the other side, right? I’ve been working pretty non stop as well, flying kinda all over the world and going to lots of sporting events to keep my mind off things.
itsmasetm:
i’m likely not going to be any help – mostly because i’ve never really had a lengthy relationship before? especially since i’m only twenty-two, but i do know how to be single pretty well at least. i’m bloody awful at flirting though, so i can’t really help you out there either? though i feel like you’re one of those that can just probably say hi – and that’ll work for you, yeah? i’m not from the states, so i can’t help you there, but if you ever need some advice on good bars to go to in london i can help you there at least! pleasure chatting with you though, josie, i’m mason – and i realize i’ve been of no help toward you so i apologize.
Not only the advice on being single works wonders, but the intent on at least trying to help is great as well, thank you very much Mason. I don’t think I’ll be in London for work in a while, but if I ever find myself there sporadically, I’ll make sure to give you a call. Very nice to meet you, how are you doing?
itslilyrd:
while i wouldn’t know what it feels like to end an eight year relationship – when i got out of the one i was in for three years, i remember it was a bit of an adjustment to be single again. however, i made a lot of stupid mistakes – so hopefully you don’t do the same thing, but still go out and have fun! i’m not really sure i’m that good at flirting – but i’ve learned if you say something in another language as an opener, with a little sly smirk on your face that gets you pretty far. at least, it’s always worked for me when i speak french? otherwise – i’ve got no tips for you! as someone that really isn’t a big fan of la, i have a place in new york and i really think you should stay there. one of my favorite bars in new york by the way is the dead rabbit – i love going there!
I’ve been on this new single thing for a month and it’s been so... Challenging. Stupid mistakes are still mistakes, and it all comes with learning opportunity, right? Well, I’m dutch so I’ll take that and keep it under my belt in case it comes in handy. French is such a nice language though, so you’ve got an upper hand on me with that. I’m bouncing around New York and LA a lot for work, but the place I’ve rented is in New York, that’s where most of my work is. Interesting name for a bar, but I’ll keep it in mind! If you come with me sometime, first drink’s on me.
