“To be fair, Alys, you’ve hardly had much luck with plants.” Turing joked, stepping inside.

“Still, it is good to be back. I must admit, I had been feeling quite morose from being away for so long.”

“Fair point. I do better with people than plants... I felt better having your help,” they admitted. “At least I kept it alive by myself!” Alys gestured to Wilty, who sat by the windowsill. Not in the best condition, but standing fine.

“Being alone would do that to you, I’m sure. In fact, why don’t we hang out for a while? Maybe some company would cheer you up.”

“I’m sorry I was away for so long. There are so many things in the world that I have yet to see. I suppose you could say I got a tad distracted.”

“I hope my absence did not cause worry…”

“Hey, Turing! Good to see you again! What have you been up to?”

“It’s been really lonely without you here. Like, seriously. I’ve been talking to Wilty for company. Doesn’t really have the same effect.”

@journalyst: "What are you doing?"

“The walls of your apartment were getting rather dreary. Such a decay might run risk of subconsciously effecting your mental state. Therefor, I have taken it upon myself to both patch the cracks in your walls and give them a new coat of paint.”

“I have opted for a nice sky blue. Not only does it give a passive effect of calming ones mind, but it also works well with almost any décor.”

“…..A ladder would be nice…”

“...Of course.” Somehow, it was easy to forget Turing’s size. “Hold on, I’ll be right back,” Alys answered, heading into the nearest closet.

They returned after a few minutes, with a stepladder. “This should get the job done, I’m hoping. Is that all?”

“He was quite opposed, at first. However, as soon as I pointed out that the act would cause the re-sale value to increase, he could not help but concede.”

“Oh, thank god...” they breathed a sigh of relief. “I don’t want to get on his bad side, considering everything that happened, including you and, uh...” they took a moment to motion at their ears. “...And me.”

With that out of the way, though, Alys soon perked up. “Hey, it’s looking pretty good, though! Do you need help with anything?”

"Oh, how... thoughtful of you!” Alys said this with a bit of awe. The color complimented the room well, and they really liked it. Plus, the brightened surroundings would probably spark some writing inspiration.

But then, there came a bit of realization. “Wait, did you get the OK from the landlord? I don’t remember if that was in the lease...”
