Quick fan art of my experience through Journey on PS3. If you haven’t played it I highly recommend it. It’s absolutely stunning!!

These are just some really quick colour/gesture drawings of Journey, I played it for 4-5 hours with this beautiful person who took the time to show me all the really cool hidden glitch areas, getting up the tower without activating the sand, doing really funny jumps with the cloth creatures while planking and sitting, meditating looking at really beautiful glitch scenery, singing and dancing and jumping and drawing pictures in the snow… seriously! It was like 5 hours we played! 

The second picture this incredible thing happened, where we went up and around into the “glitch” area of the final part at the Heaven level, around the mountain top and then we both just sort of went back to back while in the air and floated down like that for like… 2 minutes. It was a really slow fall down to the area where you go through the light but it was so peaceful and moving… did I mention this Journeyer had the ping symbol the same as my tattoo? 

I’m still in disbelief, it feels like I was playing with myself. I honestly didn’t think the playthrough was real. The only way I knew it was for real was that Rainey came home from work and saw some of the glitch level and our interactions and confirmed that it was like we knew what eachother wanted to do, and we were in no rush to beat it, we just wanted to mess around and have fun and sing and see what we could do. It was seriously a completely different game. I’ve discovered another side of playing Journey I have never discovered before, and it’s beautiful. I have such fond memories playing this game with Keysha, and this amazing experience I had just added to the list of reasons why this game will probably be my favourite game of all time forever. It keeps surprising me, even 2 years after its release. I really wish I could have saved the entire playthrough and shared it because it was honestly something so moving, I can’t even explain it. Anyway, if you’ve never played this game, you really need to. At a friends, download it for your PS3, anything. It’ll change your life.

Guess what I did a lot in Uncharted? (Hint: It’s really easy to accidentally L2.) And the desert part of 3 reminded me of all the Journey stuff I wasn’t doing because I was playing Uncharted.

I was a little cool on the idea of the series, since it just seemed like a Tomb Raider ripoff, and Lara Croft’s my main lady. But it grew on me. The characters have some v. good development, and though the plots follow similar patterns idgaf because the settings were gorgeous. Y’know, before I destroyed them.
