In response to my last post... I'm afraid I *have* abandoned this.

First it was uni work, then social life, then whatever else could keep me busy. It stopped me from being able to write stuff here, but I was still able to find times to read further... I became addicted! I couldn't stop reading it! I delved on and on, further and further from my last update. And now, all updates would be a shallow memory of what I felt.

George R.R. Martin has defeated my control, his world was too engaging.

I hope you can forgive me! (And if not I may pay you back with sex if you so request.) *Termsandconditionsapply*

Downtime :(

To reply to the messages telling me to write more, or asking why I've stopped writing, I must first appologise. I feel really annoyed that I haven't been keeping this going steady myself, but at the moment I've got a large load of university work that's due soon. A full report for monday, a presentation for thursday, and an essay. This coupled with all-day rehersals on weekends and all-night rehersals on tuesdays and wednesdays have left me zero time to write. The report is the main thing eating my time though, so after monday posts WILL be resuming! Regarding where I am in the books, I'm slightly further than my last post, but I wrote some notes when I was reading which I'll be typing up. So it's still fresh feelings.

I've not abandoned this!

Wylla. So that's his secret lady's name. My word he must have loved her for him to be so protective about her, even if he does hide it under shame of dishonour. I half hope he gets to meet her again, because it would be nice for him. But I also don't want that to happen, because that's bound to lead to trouble. Oh Eddard you poor puppet of fate. Forced to take the seat as lord of the north, forced to marry Catelyn, forced to become the hand of the king and leave your home.

Will you ever get a break? Please? Oh gods, I know he's going to die in the most heartbreaking way possible, he is the total sympathy character. Please let me be wrong.

I like Mr Drogo. He treated Dany with care and tenderness, and it was her who said yes. I can't presume about what would have happened had she still said no, but she said yes, and that's what counts.

I hope he's as nice to her as he is being now, even if he does have to act strong and stern in the public domain.

Hey! This is an awesome idea for a blog! I wanted to give you a warning before you get further with it though. Some people like to spoil things. I had something from ASIOAF spoiled for me, and ruined a lot of the experience. I just wanted to make sure you are aware of that, and that you are careful with what you read. Things like comments and questions on the blog are perfect examples of areas where you should be extra cautious. Hope this helps. I am definitely going to keep up with the blog!

Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely taking all measure to ensure I don't hear even the teeniest possible spoiler. It's annoyed my friends a few times when I've heard them begin to talk and see me drop back 50 yards!

Dany used to be so afraid of waking the dragon in her brother. You just know she's going to wake these dragons. And she is going to KICK ASS.

Oh my, this is a turn.

I know Magister Ilyrio says they're stone.

But come on.

Dragon eggs.

Also, they seem so beautiful as well. I love these descriptions. I think if I had to choose, I would go with the deep green with bronze flecks one. I wonder which one will wake up first... or all at the same time? Hmm...

I feel like there are some rly problematic ideas here around the way you are interpreting and framing this group of people modeled after actual peoples in Asia/the Middle East versus the way you are framing groups modeled after peoples in Europe.

I'm not entirely sure what specific problems you mean, though looking again at what I wrote, it's not the best. I shouldn't try to write intelectual posts at 2am >.< I definitely reccognise the Asian model, and while reading I've been seeing them as Mongolians in my mind, (in only a generalistic way). I'd love for you to further define the problems and how you feel I'm framing the two peoples. When you say "versus the way you are framing groups modeled after peoples in Europe." I get confused, since I'm not sure when I've done any framing of the Seven Kingdoms (which I assume is what you mean.).

I hope you don't take offence at this post! I'm just interested in a more detailed opinion :)

The Dothraki are an interesting race of people.

They seem very much to be wildmen, but advanced wildmen. They seem so basic, what with the random public mating, and the agressive disputes which end in a fast death. Yet somehow they have managed to organise 40 thousand of them to be in one place and not wind up in a bloodbath. I guess you could say that they have a naturalistic and communal nature which is somewhat elegant. Though you could also say that they're a mob of barbarric backwards people. Either/Or I guess!

Then there's also the question about how people are raised, if a Dothraki man mates with a random woman, she gets preggers and has a kid, how is it looked after? I would suspect the women of the smaller tribes would look after all the children together, and then when the child grew old enough it would be taken into either the men's group to learn the ways of the hunt, or the woman's group to learn the stuff the women do. Fatherhood might not be very important, being more clan/community focused.

I would like it very much if they stayed in their plains and did not make an attempt at marauding through the seven kingdoms. Leave them in peace, and leave my poor Eddard in peace.

Though you can kill Viserys. He's still a power-hungry asshole.

UPDATE!

Update to the schedule on postings. I have decided to make this a bit more uniform, with regular postings. To this end, the way this will work starting tomorrow is: Two posts per day, between 4am - 5am.

This means that each day you'll be able to see two new posts at any point during that day, if you check it when you wake at 6am, or over lunch at 1pm, or in the evening after a long day! You'll have two fresh posts, guaranteed!

If you have any questions or suggestions, either about the sceduling, the content, the quality, or anything. Feel free to ask! I think at some point getting you lovely people involved would be nice! - Thank you for listening!

Oh... oh. oh.Jon, you strong boy. Standing up to your fathers wife. But oh. Oh oh oh. That description of Bran...

"She was holding one of his hands. It looked like a claw. This was not the Bran he remembered. The flesh had all gone from him. His skin stretched tight over bones like sticks. Under the blanket, his legs bent in ways that made Jon sick. his eyes were sunken deep into black pits; open, but they saw nothing. The fall had shrunken him somehow. He looked half a leaf, as if the first strong wind would carry him off to his grave."

I had to stop reading. George R.R. is a van gough of words. He painted this picture so vividly, it made me feel as sick as Jon. It is beyond contemplation, having a sibling look so hollow.

Then Jon's plea for Bran to live... it breaks my heart... and now Jon has to leave him, to set out north, he'll never be able to be there with Bran if he dies... That brave boy.
