Hi!! I was wondering if you could do one where the reader has a bad trauma with yelling and arguing because of abuse as a child or in a past relationship and the they accidentally trigger it and cause the reader to panic/ have a panic attack? It's completely fine if your not comfortable doing it!!! Have a good night! :]
Hi! ❤️ This is something I relate to, actually. Thank you for taking the time to request it.
The man has a habit of raising his voice, and _____ knew that.
However, this man was also one of the sweetest, most caring and compassionate men that they have ever met. Of course, Knuckle acted differently, yet not out of his own character, whenever it came to his significant other. Treated them with nothing but the utmost respect, love, everything and anything.
Though, Knuckle was still his loud, cranky self.
It was the dumbest argument. It came about from his significant other being frustrated over him...not doing his part of the chores, or not caring to throw his dirty clothes in the hamper instead of the floor. They couldn't remember anymore. Whatever they went back and forth over vanished as soon as _____ shook.
"Look -- I-I get busy being away for work! I just want to relax whenever I get home. Is that too much to ask?!"
He didn't mean to get loud with his last statement. His temper got the best of him.
Knuckle realized how loud and mad he sounded.
_____ was shaking, taking a few steps back from him, either out of reflex or not knowing.
"_____, are you okay? What's wrong with you!?"
A loud sob poured from the person standing in front of him.
Now, he was silent. Watching in shock, _____ sinking to the floor in a hunched position. Knuckle had no idea what to do, how to fix the situation he had caused. Obviously, him raising his voice definitely made it progress.
After a moment, he takes a seat beside them, reaching a hesitating hand to soothe over _____'s back. They did flinch at his touch until they felt the flat of his palm and fingertips caress the curve of their spine. Knuckle was doing his best to comfort them, to be quiet and to be understanding.
The man apologizes, for the way he yelled at them and for sounding so inconsiderate. Along with making them scared enough to start crying. He genuinely felt awful.
When _____ tries to explain through their shaky breath and leftover tears why they fell into a panic attack suddenly, Knuckle felt his chest tighten and understood them a little better. They had been through a lot in their life if a simple thing as a raise of voice or change of tone, or even a certain word or phrase, can cause them so much stress. When allowed, Knuckle fully embraces his significant other tightly, and starts to faintly cry whenever they reach their arms through his. Arguments are rough, and they happen...but he'll try to keep his voice down next time.
Shoot rarely gets angry, let alone change his tone of voice. The only time he does is with Knuckle...but even then, it's still rare.
With his significant other, he is anything but angry, annoyed, or upset. Shoot has always been respectful, caring, empathetic... Always a good man when it comes to them. _____ knew that, for sure. They considered him an absolute sweetheart.
Sadly, _____ and Shoot weren't perfect. They had their off days.
With all Shoot deals with physically, and handles mentally, there are days where he isn't his best self. He gets in his head, he feels sad and irritable. He sometimes wishes to close himself off and get rid of the world around him for a moment. His significant other is the same. That makes them clash from time to time.
Shoot had been home from a particularly draining mission only for a few minutes, and _____ was eager for conversation. They tried to ask how the mission went, if he was successful or not, and telling them all about what they had been up to while he was gone...until they realized something felt off about him.
"...Shoot? Are you okay?"
He sounded like he wasn't, so _____ pressed, worried about him.
"...You don't seem like it." With no response, _____ continues with, "What's wrong? Did I--"
"Nothing is wrong, _____!"
Immediately, _____ flinched at the slight raise of his voice, along with the sharp turn of his body towards them. And he notices. As fast as he reacted, his face fell into worry just as such. The look in his significant other's eyes made his anxiety spike.
Shoot was always incredibly observant. Just from feeling their body language, change in look, and the sense of shock on their face, he knew exactly what happened in that moment. Before anything else happens, he takes their hand softly into his dominant one, slowly tightening it when he apologies to them. A sense of dread and worry overtaking him instead of overwhelming stress and irritability. They end up apologizing as well, even though Shoot doesn't understand why. He's the one that raised his voice.
He listens whenever _____ explains why they had the reaction they did.
