Joy Cafe

Joy Cafe is a lush little cafe in Churchill Gardens in Boscombe. We love our community and are all about bringing people together to enjoy great friendships, food & fun!

Today we had a blast making and tasting super healthy smoothies! There were some delicious creations including avocado, banana and almond milk!

So many superstar kids making Churchill Gardens an even more lush litter-free park!

Most kids in Churchill Gardens are now pro-hula hoopers! We had a competition yesterday and 3 under 12's kept their hoop up for 27 minutes none stop!

Grounded Enterprises is an inspirational Bournemouth-based non-profit company that encourages and teaches people how to grow their own veg to feed family, friends and community! Like us they have a big heart and big vision for sustainable community transformation. This afternoon they joined us at Joy Cafe with bundles of super fresh lettuce, rocket and rainbow chard (yes chard is a vegetable!). My health-food loving housemate blended the rocket into a vibrant paste that tasted great on toast! Thanks Rich!

Love from my head to-ma-toes

This afternoon me, Michelle and some super keen kids re-potted tomato and strawberry plants in some gorgeous planters hand-made just last week by the guys at Michael’s House! All part of the plan to make the front of Joy Cafe look, smell and taste lush!

The guys at Michael’s House worked solidly all week on their new social enterprise. Felt so honoured to be one of their first customers at Boscombe Market! Michael’s House provides incredible supported accommodation for homeless and vulnerable men and women.
