Is my look #NYCCityProof?
In the blossom voxbox, I received a NYC City Proof eye shadow pencil, which works awesome with the Too Faced “Shadow Insurance” primer. I also paired this pencil with a lighter chubby pencil from Clinique! Perfect, quick look!
The next project I did was with my friend herrejonkarina, who is doing this project as well. We made dye die cupcakes for our class presentation. We took 2 boxes of yellow cake mix, separated it into 5 bowls and added food coloring. We then layered the different colors and baked them according to the directions on the box. These turned out super pretty and I'm excited to share them with my class!
Another DIY FAILURE!
This time, my best friend and I read on Pinterest about making brownie mix into a waffle maker and making glorious, glorious waffle brownies. So one night, around 9, we decided it was time. I have a few thoughts about it. While it made the brownie all crispy, it did not stay in the shape of a waffle and made it really difficult to take it out of the waffle maker. And the waffle maker we used was a restaurant quality type which was nearly impossible to clean. And by the time we made a successful waffle shape (which was burnt) I had nibbled so much on the broken pieces I made myself sick. So tl;dr- great idea in concept, poor execution.
The next project I did was make prayer candles, but I'm not very religiously inclined, so I used collages of Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. How I made these was using blank candles, and printed out the collages on vellum paper. To secure them, I used mode podge, but as you can see from the one on the left that it made it smudge, so on the one on the right, I only used it on the edges. But these were super cute and look even better lit!
Here is my personal favorite DIY project I did! To add these colors to my hair, all I simply did was put food coloring in my hair! I took the coloring and dropped a few drops in my hair and then brushed it out with a pastry brush. It lasted for around 2 weeks, as I am a massive fan of dry shampoo that allows me to wash my hair less frequently. This was an awesome project that allowed me to test the waters of having unnaturally colored hair.
Here we have a DIY FAILURE! I found recipes online that could be considered a “dupe” for lush bath bombs, and I decided to try it. As you can tell from the pictures above, it just slowly disintegrated and turned the water murky. I would say that it made the water “softer” per se, but no fizzy bath bombs here!

Lemon Face Scrub!
Now, I don't have pictures for this, but I've used this scrub for years and really love it. For this scrub I take half of a lemon, put a thin layer of honey on said lemon then dip the honey lemon mess into some brown sugar. You should have a freshly washed face and then just scrub away! All three ingredients have great properties for helping breakouts and so on! If you decide to try this, I hope you love it!!
Hi! I’m back! The next project I did was make my own cleaner for the interior in my car! This was super simple, being just 1/3 cup soap (bought from the dollar store) and 2/3 cup water, mixed together in a spray bottle. After spraying the mixture onto my seats, (which was slightly terrifying) I took a stiff bristled brush and scrubbed. After scrubbing, I took a warm wash cloth to rinse out the soap. Make sure you like the soap you pick though, because my car has smelled like it for a week! But as you can tell from the pictures, this diy was a success!
First post, what's up! Welcome back! The first diy project was making this mug. I purchased a plain white mug from a local 99 cent store, and my friend and I drew on the mugs with colored sharpies. After we were content with our designs, (mine being "lol, you're not Harry styles and his birth year) we put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. As you can tell, the sharpie seemed to move in some places, and my theory on that is it was left in the oven for too long. But other than that, this was a success!

This is a blog I've created for my English class at CSU Channel Islands! My hopes with this independent project is to find a diy idea somewhere out there on the internet that interests me, and to go and complete it! I intend to include pictures of how it was supposed to turn out, and how it actually did, and my process with any modifications I made! I'm especially excited to start this and hope someone somewhere out there is excited to read it! I'll see you soon!
