depression

is not tattoos of “stay strong” or birds flying away 

it does not look like outfits of all black

and it is not a short term thing.

it is not cute 

or adorable 

or romantic.

depression tears people apart,

it does not bring them together.

depression is a disease with a death count

it can be passed down through your parents

and it is not curable. 

having a good day does not cure depression.

having a good week, month, or year does not cure depression.

depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.

it is not contagious. 

depression is a chronic condition. even on a good day you still feel it. that pain of something missing. we fill that empty space with people, drugs, and hobbies to relieve the constant hurt and when the person is gone, the pipe is cashed and the project has broken

we fall apart.
