remusupin:
In the early hours of the day it was always hard to for Remus to pay attention to details. Once he recognized who he was talking to he couldn’t help but blame his poor attention skills. “James,” he said surprised. It felt like ages since he had seen James last since he was busy with the Ministry and being a newly wed. But he wasn’t about to ask what circumstances placed James here regardless if it was Ministry business. He was happy and grateful for the small run in.
“I thought I could use a little morning pick me up,” Remus replied with a soft smile. “What are you doing here? Didn’t think I would see you anytime soon. Isn’t it a little early for you? If I remember correctly you always said any time before eleven is beneath you.”
He dropped a number of sickles on the counter. He and Lily had been sticking to a budget and living within their means (not much for a trainee auror and Lily’s small wage) but he wasn’t about to let something so arbitrary as a budget stop him from helping his friend.
“So we’ve crossed into morning then? I never was really good with that line. When does night stop being night?” He offered Remus a slight shrug of his shoulders. “Can’t really keep regular hours with the shifts I’m getting. But mate, I’m pretty sure I said that in fifth year. I’m all about mornings now. I jog and everything.”
