Seriously, bring back real people
My current laptop is nearly a decade old and isn't compatible to update to Windows 11, meaning I've been running on borrowed time since they ended Windows 10. I was finally able to buy an upgrade last month, but literally had problems from the start.
I needed help placing my order due to technical issues, so I contacted company support. Immediately, I was greeted with a warning that AI chat bots were used on the 'team'. Whatever. I do the whole song and dance to order the laptop.
The damn chat bot changed the delivery address at some point without my knowledge or consent. I didn't find out until I received the order confirmation email. As soon as I saw this, I contacted support again to change the address back to the one I provided- again, I was having to deal with a chat bot instead of a real person. The bot said it updated my address, and I did receive an email stating such. My laptop took some time to be shipped out, then it got stuck in Canada for like a week, and finally, it was on its way to me.
Or so I though. The address was never updated like I'd been told it had. I only found out 'cause FedEx made an attempted delivery, and the photo they provided showed IT WASN'T MY FUCKIN HOUSE. Thankfully, the package requires a signature, so FedEx didn't leave it there. I try contacting FedEx to let them know it's the wrong address, but they inform me the sender has to provide an address change, so they can't help me.
I contact support again, get stuck with a chat bot again, get told my address would be updated again. All the while, this damn bot keeps pressuring me to buy products when I just want to fix the address issue. The next delivery attempt, FedEx goes to the wrong address AGAIN, proving the chat bot did not in fact change anything.
The next time I contact support- still getting stuck with a fucking chat bot- I try to give the correct address, but the bot ignores me to say the delivery attempt failed 'cause no one was present to sign. YEAH. 'CAUSE IT'S STILL THE WRONG ADDRESS???? I state, again, it's being sent to the wrong address, and the bot tries to tell me that IS my address and it was the address I provided, which is an obvious lie with chat logs to prove it. Yet again, the bot tells me the address was updated without any confirmation, and then it closed my support ticket when I was trying to ask a question.
I tried looking for any way to talk to a real fuckin' person, but I couldn't find one. A REAL person could easily help me with this. A REAL person could see the address I'm providing is different from the one they're trying to send my package to. A REAL person could answer my questions and provide options on how to handle this instead of leaving me HOPING the problem was finally fixed. I HATE how I'm having to go in circles all because this damn company thought replacing real people with an LLM was a good idea.
RAGE I am full of RAGE at how frustrating and sinister this is.
