Chapter 16: The tryout
The weather got colder, the days shorter, Christmas lights were decorating the streets, and a soft cover of white snow lay on the ground. Before you had noticed or were even able to realize, the end of the semester was upon you, and Eddie's Band Tryout and the Winter Snow Prom were upon you.
Eddie - though he'd never admit it – had clearly become nervous. It wasn't in his usual attitude to be anxious about anything, so you noticed him struggle more than usual. On the one hand, it was adorable seeing him care about something so much; on the other hand, you wished you could take his mind off of it because no matter the outcome, you knew they'd rock their tryout and having fun on stage was the most important thing about it all.
But Eddie clearly didn't see it that way; for him, it was all or nothing. It got to a point where he was prancing around the trailer in one of Wayne's old jumpers – because it had gotten relatively cold inside the trailer, even if the heating was all turned up – saying how if they blew this chance, they should just give up right away because there would never be anything like it again.
"I will rip my own head off and throw it into Lover's Lake if we blow this chance", he groaned, seating himself down on the sofa. A soft thud echoed through the room.
"Eddie, you'll be great. I promise. Do you want to go through the list again?" you smiled at him faintly, sitting down beside him. Your legs were covered in warm socks, and you were wearing one of Wayne's jumpers. He put one of his rough hands on your thigh, squeezing it slightly.
"Yeah, I just wanna take my mind off things… Please help me…" he grinned, and you noticed that his mind was clearly occupied by things other than calming words.
"Munson, you gotta focus if you want to win this. Here, I'll get your guitar for you" you rolled your eyes, jumping up. His red guitar was clutched tightly in your hands as you bounced back around the corner, and you blushed when you saw Eddie spreading his legs and lifting his head to look at you.
"I can't believe after all this time, you still get flushed", he said, shaking his head.
"Shut up and take this", you answered, smiling, putting the guitar in his lap.
"It's the Munson effect; what can I say. Irresistible to the ladies," he narrated, bowing mockingly in front of you with his hands. You rolled your eyes, grinning, pointing at the guitar to urge him to play. And that's what he did.
You went through the setlist he had planned, and even though only covers were allowed, Eddie said, " fuck it," and decided to add a few originals to the list. You liked the idea; after all, breaking the rules was expected in the rockstar world.
When the day arrived, Eddie could barely sit still, and his eyes looked droopy when you put the black eyeliner on him.
"You'll be amazing, Eddie, I know it" you smiled at him before kissing him on the nose faintly. He wore his black cut-off shirt with his shoulders exposed, including black ripped jeans and the black boots you were so fond of, which he had worn back at Halloween.
"Will you still love me if I fuck this up?" he smiled, bobbing his head upwards, so he was looking at you. He was sitting on a chair, and you were leaning over him, the eyeliner still in your hand.
"I think Rockstars are hot either way", you grinned, taking a step back to take in your masterwork. He looked incredible; his hair was as messy as ever but ran over his neck and shoulders beautifully, some curls sticking onto his forehead. But something was missing.
"Here, don't forget this", you said as you tossed him his black bandana.
As you drove the whole gang to Indianapolis, you almost lost your mind at how nervously they babbled around. Gareth seemed to be losing his sanity because he kept hitting his head against the window, saying incoherent words about Ozzie and Anthrax and big chances. Eddie had taken on a leadership role, and his nervousness seemed nonexistent to an outsider.
"Shut up!" he shouted, leaning over the seat so he could look at his bandmates, shaking his hands furiously at them.
"We will not give into the dark side and allow them to push us off the path we were meant to stride upon, fellow men; we will succeed and master; this is what our fellowship was meant to be! I swear upon everything I know, Metallica, Black Sabbath and DnD!"
It was odd how his speech motivated all the bandmates because they were cheering and screaming back names you didn't recognize. Eddie twinkled at you then as he posed back and drummed his hands upon the front of the car, cheering, howling with the whole band.
When you arrived at the venue, your mouth dropped open at how big it was. It wasn't a concert hall, but a bigger club than any of you had expected. And even though you had arrived two hours early, it was packed. Packed with bands registering at the entrance tables, staff members running around frantically, carrying multiple cords, and many other people, probably fans and friends, cheering for their favourites.
The nervousness was buzzing through, and you could feel it inside your body, electrifying your fingertips.
"Now, this is what I'm talking about!" Eddie cheered, and the others joined him in action. Slowly you unpacked all of the instruments from the car, and Eddie kissed his guitar before grabbing your waist and kissing you rather roughly.
"Ready to see a rockstar, baby?" he smiled, winking.
"I'll let this speak for itself…." you replied, opening the button of your jacket and showing him what you were wearing. You wore a self-made band shirt that you had ripped in all the right places and sewed back up with safety needles. In messy but structured handwriting, upon the black shirt itself was written "Corroded Coffin". Eddie's mouth dropped open before the corners of his mouth popped up again.
"God, you are the perfect groupie, knightess", he grinned before pushing you against the car softly and kissing you again, this time more passionately.
"Uhmm…" Jeff cleared his throat rather awkwardly, and Gareth and David laughed at his reaction. Eddie hissed at them before the four of them sprinted inside, chasing each other, leaving their instruments by the side of the car.
"I guess I'll just wait here then?" you shouted at them, waving, but they didn't reply. You sighed and rolled your eyes, smiling.
When they came back, Eddie informed you that they were indeed the last group of the setup. Altogether twelve bands were playing that day and in your opinion being first, and last were definitely the ones to make the biggest impressions. But what was the most excruciating part of it all was the wait.
When the first bands started playing, the group's enthusiasm was shrinking. You couldn't lie; the bands were good. Better than you expected. Better than any of you expected.
Multiple people were seated at the top of the venue, you suspected the judges, and Eddie explained that the guy on the right with ruffly black hair was the guy to impress, and he was the one that had Anthrax signed.
The rumour about them searching for a preact was never fully confirmed, so the goal for this competition was written out as pure fun. Still, it seemed it was an unspoken fact that if you won here, you were definitely about to embark on the most extensive Metal journey any fan could ever dream of. The seventh band had just stopped playing their set, and the cheers were louder than ever.
When you were about to answer Eddie, a familiar, warm voice greeted you from behind.
"Hello, there, former royal!" Steve cheered, putting his hands on his hips, and smiling.
"Oh, hi Steve! Can't believe you made it" you smiled back at him, your cheeks slightly flushing. Eddie had invited him, of course, but somehow you had forgotten or not even believed he would show up. You weren't entirely on a hug-greeting basis, so you smiled at each other.
"Oh, by the way, this is Robin! I can now formally introduce the two of you" he pointed to his back, where Robin was just walking up. Her face was freckly but friendly, and she held her hand to you.
"Nice to formally meet you!" you smiled, shaking her hand. Eddie hadn't said a word, but his eyes were transfixed on Steve. Steve shifted his gaze to meet Eddie's.
"Oh, hi there, Munson. You nervous yet?" he asked, seeming genuinely interested.
"You wish, Harrington", Eddie answered confidently, "didn't think you'd show you pretty face around here."
"I am full of surprises, and hey, you invited me, and Dustin would have never let me hear the end of it if I didn't come" Steve shrugged. Robin seemed to have disconnected from the conversation and turned around to talk to a girl with so many piercings on her face you couldn't keep count.
"It's really nice of you to show; thank you for coming", you smiled, eventually saying what you wished Eddie would have said. Steve gifted you such a warm smile that you realized why he was described as charming. His whole personality was engaging. In another lifetime – maybe. But all you could think of was Eddie.
"Will you excuse us for a second?" Eddie said, his voice rather rough as he grasped you by the wrist, pulling you away from the crowd. Just as you were yanked out of the hall, the next band started playing a song you recognized: Children of the Grave by Black Sabbath.
Eddie hauled you to the side where the exclusive band toilets were, and it was surprisingly empty.
"Eddie, are you okay?" you asked, putting one of your hands on his cheek, smiling softly.
"Had to get you away from Harrington, god he looked as if he was about to jump you", he hissed, his eyes darkening at the thought.
"Eddie, that's ridiculous. He was just being friendly; he came for you, not for me!" you shot back, locking your arms in front of your chest.
"How am I supposed to know? Pretty boy is beyond perfect, crystal-clear reputation, good grades, a dream for every girl probably, not like me, the fucking freak", he snarled, his voice slightly shaky as he pushed you into the wall.
This was a side you had never seen of him before. Jealous Eddie. It didn't match his personality, but you were guessing that the anxiety mixed with the nervousness and then Steve being there wasn't the best combination.
Suddenly your eyes lit up, giving Eddie big sparkly eyes.
"Do you want me to prove my devotion to you, Sir Munson?" you asked innocently, staring up at him. You felt Eddie flinch at you, calling him Sir. It was unexpected, but he enjoyed it more than he should have.
"You liked that, didn't you?" you grinned, "let me show you how much I love you, Sir."
Eddie exhaled heavily, his breath shaking as you slowly slid down the wall onto your knees. You never left him out of your sight, and his eyes were on you.
"God, knightess…" he groaned as you slid your hands up his legs.
"Don't get shy on me now. Don't you want to be a rockstar, Munson?" you smiled up at him, slowly putting your fingers over his waist and into the hem of his boxers and pants, opening up the handcuff belt he was wearing.
"For having such innocent eyes, you do have a filthy mouth, knightess" he chuckled but couldn't hold back a moan when you opened up the zipper of his pants, pulled down his boxers and drew out his already hard cock.
If someone had come around the corner, they would have seen what you're doing. But you didn't care and wanted to take Eddie's mind off things, which was definitely working.
"Can I suck your cock Mr Munson?" you purred in a honey-lazed voice putting his cock in your hand, softly stroking it while looking up at him. His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes pulled together, trying to soften his already heavy breath. He twitched in your hand as you spoke to him.
"God, please suck me off…" he groaned, and you didn't need to be told twice. You bobbed your head forward and wrapped your lips around his pink tip, hollowing your cheeks as you went deeper, staring up at him. Eddie put one of his hands on the wall behind you and the other on top of your head.
"Fuck, knightess, feels so good…" he moaned and moved his hips forward, so his cock hit the back of your throat, slightly choking on it. He was still too big to fit into your mouth, which he frequently reminded you of, just to taunt you. But not this time. Even though he was in your mouth, you were the one in control. You started bobbing your head faster, putting your hand at the base of his cock, pumping him simultaneously.
He was close already; you could feel it. It was probably the pent-up nervousness, the jealousy, the endless practices, everything. But you had other plans. Slowly, you moved your mouth off his cock, and he let out a soft whine, opening his eyes and pleading with you.
"Do you still believe I like him more than you, Mr Munson?" you whispered, staring at him with innocent eyes, softly, painfully slowly stroking his cock.
"God, no, fuck…. please…" he whimpered and the way his voice broke through excited you so much that you felt your clit twitch. Eddie being so helplessly in your grip – quite literally – did more things to you than you would like to admit.
"Anything for you, Sir", you smiled, batting your eyelashes as you got back to work, pumping his cock fast and sucking on him, spit dropping everywhere. Eddie moaned heavily, grabbing the back of your head as he twitched inside you and came with a growl, trapping you in his grip.
You felt his warm cum in your mouth, and before you could actively decide, you were already swallowing it. Slowly, you got up and immediately pressed a kiss onto his lips, pushing your tongue into his mouth, letting him taste himself on your tongue.
You let him catch his breath, and after a few seconds, he kissed you back, and you could feel his familiar grin on your lips.
"You – knightess – are going to be the death of me", he grinned while kissing your neck softly. Before you could answer, though, an announcement shook the venue.
"Next up, last but not least. Corroded Coffin. Corroded Coffin on Stage in 5, please."
You both stared at each other before simultaneously breaking out into smiles.
"Give them hell, Munson", you smiled, kissing him again.
Five minutes later, Eddie and the whole group were on stage. Eddie had tied up his hair into a ponytail, his bandana around it, keeping it steady. You weren't sure if you saw it correctly, but his cheeks still seemed flushed.
"Indianapolis, whaaatsss uppp???" David screamed into the microphone, and the crowd exploded into cheers. Garret was waving from his drums, Jeff clapping with the crowd from his bass, and Eddie put his tongue out devilishly on the guitar.
At that moment, Steve and Robin found you and joined you in the crowd. "We're Corroded Coffin from the small town of Hawkins, and we're here to show you what we're all about. Get ready to go absolutely fucking wild!!"
And the crowd obeyed. When they started playing their set, you screamed the loudest. Eddie's eyes were on you constantly. You headbanged and moshed with the crowd, enjoying your time so much. You couldn't believe that your boyfriend was in a band, and you were with the guitarist of this group.
You were so insanely proud of him already; you couldn't even describe the feeling adequately. Robin, beside you, seemed to enjoy herself just as much, and even Steve eventually opened up a bit more to the dance moves that were expected at a metal concert. When they started playing Master of Puppets, you grinned at Eddie and even though he was focused entirely on not fucking up his riffs, he found your gaze ever so often.
When they finished Master of Puppets, the crowd cheered louder than ever and you with them, expecting the set to be completed. That's what Eddie had told you, at least, that he would finish with your song. But suddenly, Eddie's voice blasted through the hall.
"We're not quite finished yet…here is one of our own. Enjoy and fuck the rules, Indianapolis!"
Your eyes widened, and you jumped up and down at the prospect of hearing a song you never had before, one of their own, one that Eddie had worked on. He had shown you snippets of what it was inspired by but never anything solid.
To your absolute surprise, Eddie kept the microphone at his side, handing the guitar to David for this one. When the first guitar riff sounded, Eddie interlocked eyes with you.
"Lay where you're laying, don't make a sound, I know they're watching, they're watching…"
You flushed, and he was singing to you. And you were pretty surprised at the rasp of his voice, how it twisted so beautifully in the air, wrapping itself around you.
"All the commotion, the kiddie-like play has people talking, they're talking…."
The song was building up, it was getting faster, and at this point, you knew what Eddie was singing about. He was singing about the two of you. He had meant this when he told you they'd be closing up with "your" song. Eddie was not looking at you anymore but walking around the stage, bobbing his head, living his true rockstar life. Then the chorus kicked in, and you were blown away by the vocals, the guitar, the drums, everything. The lyrics especially.
“You……., your sex is on fire…”
You couldn't believe that he was actually singing about your sex life. You broke out into laughter, your cheeks flushing, shaking your head, screaming, dancing, bobbing your head with everyone around you. The song was a hit, and it was pure ecstasy. Eddie was now clutching the microphone tightly, grinding himself against it suggestively, and you could hear the crowd going even wilder. He definitely fit the image of a rockstar.
"The dark of the alley, the breaking of day, head while I'm driving, I'm driving, soft lips are open, them knuckles are pale, feels like you're dying, you're dying…."
Eddie was now back-to-back with Jeff, playing the bass, grinding up and down his back and leaning his head and curls into his shoulders. Jeff was laughing and bobbing his head rhythmically. David, too seemed to thoroughly enjoy his time on the guitar. Garret was headbanging more heavily than all of them together on the drums; it seemed like he had it in his blood.
"You………your sex is on fire…."
For the second chorus, Eddie was standing at the front of the stage, the microphone standing between his legs, and he bent down more and more until, eventually, he was lying on his back before popping back up. It was pure insanity, and the crowd went even wilder than ever. It seemed like the walls were about to crumble down.
And when the song ended, and Eddie had jumped into the crowd, surfing around with David following closely after, you knew they had it in the bag. No one else had gotten such a response from the crowd, and when each of them – after they were back on stage - Eddie, Garret, Jeff and David screamed into the microphones a round of thank yous, the crowd matched the energy.
And when the judges finally called up all the bands to announce what would happen now, your knees were shaking in anticipation. You had grabbed both Steve and Robin's hands, altogether nervous. The three of you had gotten close throughout the concert, it was funny, but you didn't really second-guess it. The stage was quite crowded now with all of the different bands. The judge Eddie had pointed out before – the one who had Anthrax signed – was now on the microphone, ready to make an announcement.
"Thank you, everybody, for participating in this Band Sign Up. Seeing new and upcoming bands keeping up the spirit of metal and rock and roll in the next generation is truly a blessing. It is what we need, and it is all we need. Now, I am happy to announce that besides winning a cash prize, the winners of today's band sign-up also have the amazing opportunity to join the world-renowned band Anthrax on their US leg of the upcoming tour as a preact."
The crowd and bands broke out in cheers and screams, genuinely excited about the confirmed rumours now.
"After intensively talking to the other judges, we have decided. I don't want to keep you on edge any longer, so here it is. The band that will win the cash prize and join Anthrax on their upcoming tour is…."
"CORRODED COFFIN!"
Before you realized what you were doing, you had screamed and jumped up and down in excitement, tears pooling in the side of your eyes. You were trying to catch Eddie, but you couldn't see him; where was he? And suddenly, he was there, right in front of you.
Everyone around you cheered, screamed and applauded the band as Garret, Jeff, and David joined you, screaming and jumping around like excited schoolgirls. The crowd had parted as Eddie had leapt into the mass of people just to find you. And when he reached you, he laid his lips on yours, kissing you so passionately that you guessed that life could never get better than this.

October had always been your favourite season. The smoke ground through the streets, clinging onto the houses like sticky sweet honey, hindering sights, drowning any sense of reality out of the town. Hawkins, in autumn especially, seemed its honest, authentic self. The orange of the trees enlit something in the city, a forbidden sense of wonder and fantasy that you always found yourself drowning in.
Yet you had to hide it all. Pretend you hated it; pretend you hated the rain, the fog. It's what was expected of you. Since last year you were lucky enough to be adopted into the popular clique at school. You weren't quite sure why but after being a chronic loner, you appreciated the change of scenery. What surprised everyone, though, was that you were dating Steve Harrington. The King of Hawkins High.
He, of course, had been together with Nancy, and when she broke up with him, he immediately focused on you. Of course, you had to get Nancy's permission, and she said she was okay with it, although later, Carol confessed that she had called you a whore behind her back. You also noticed her talking down on you whenever you were with Steve and behaving differently when he was around. It was clear she wanted to win him back; it seemed she hadn't expected him to actually move on when she broke up with him.
But Steve – to your surprise – protected you. When you weren't ready to defend yourself, he would stand up for you, telling Nancy she was crazy and ignoring all her attempts on him. Every time you looked at Steve, your heart pumped faster, and your head throbbed. So when he told you about the Halloween party you usually weren't sure you'd agree to under normal circumstances, you immediately agreed. All of your friend group was invited: You, Tommy, Carol, Billy and of course, Nancy. But word spread fast. And sooner than later, the whole school knew about it and prepared to show up on the 31st at Steve's house.
Nancy had picked the costume for your group: She was the Sexy Devil; Carol was the Slutty Nun, and you… well, you were the Angel.
You knew they were doing it to humiliate you; they knew you were still a virgin. They knew you barely had done anything but kiss Steve, and every time he wanted to go further, you'd stopped him. Nancy had laughed when you told her and told you in gross detail about how big Steve was and what an eager lover he proved to be in bed.
It was something you were insecure about. And the fact that they knew and would exploit it like that made you want to scream, but you did what you always did and swallowed all the hate, the anger, the rage down and smiled as Nancy handed you the costume.
"You're not scared? Like at all? I mean, the killer is still out there", you groaned, concerned as Nancy put on her tiny red dress, red horns decorating her head. You, Carol and she were getting ready in her vast mansion.
"Oh, what, you're scared?" Carol laughed as she fixed her veil.
"You're such a coward", Nancy added.
But you had every right to be scared. In the last two months, there had been two murders in the small town of Hawkins. There were talks of a serial killer, and curfews were instructed. Yet when nothing happened for a few weeks, no one died but also, and no one was caught, the people eased into it all again, and normality returned. It was truly astonishing how quickly one could adjust, yet that sinking feeling never left you. It was irrational, but you felt watched. Alone. Scary.
When you arrived at Steve's house, the party was already in full force. The music drowned out almost all other senses, but then the smells hit you: Weed, Fast food, smoke, alcohol and other things you weren't sure you could identify. All eyes were instantly on you when you stepped into the house. Nancy especially had all the attention on her. Some guys whistled, and one immediately put her arm around her, but she pushed him off, clearly disinterested.
"Ahoy, Ladies! You all look ravishing, especially you, my love…." Steve announced as he rushed around the corner, grabbing you protectively around your waist, pulling you in and placing a messy kiss on your lips. He tasted alcohol, and you smiled against his lips when you tasted it on your tongue. You could feel Nancy rolling her eyes out of the corner of your eye. He was wearing a sailor's boy uniform, looking rather adorable.
"You look hot, Sailor Boy", Nancy leaned in, whispering rather sultry even though Steve's arm was still gripped closely around your waist.
"I'm going to get something to drink; you girls want anything?" he smiled, ignoring Nancy.
"Yes, please, god, I need to get going!" Carol groaned.
"Alright then, follow me!" Steve announced, prancing, and squeezing past the crowds, grabbing your hand tightly. You stared around at all the kids from school. Halloween added something rather foul and animalistic to the way people were behaving. They seemed to care even less in all of their various costumes. People were making out, almost on top of each other, and you felt like you could hear moaning from the bathroom, but maybe that was just your imagination.
Steve handed all of you shots of something clear that you couldn't really identify. You just suspected strong alcohol.
"To an unforgettable, live-changing night!" Steve cheered, and you all lifted your shots up, clinking before downing them. The liquor burned your throat, and you pulled your face together in disgust. Carol didn't flinch at all.
"God, you're such a lightweight!" she chortled while pouring herself a second shot and downing it like it was nothing. Nancy wasn't getting the attention she wanted and hated how Steve only paid attention to you.
"Hello there, hotties…" a sultry voice came from behind you, and as you turned, you saw Billy Hargrove and Tommy – Carol's boyfriend and Steve's best friend - staring back at you. You weren't quite sure what Billy was supposed to be; he was simply wearing a black leather jacket and no shirt underneath, and Tommy was dressed as Cobra Kai. Carol screeched and flung herself around Tommy's neck, instantly making out, shoving their tongues down each other's throats.
"An angel, huh?" Billy grinned, biting his lip while checking you out. It made you highly uncomfortable, and when he hugged you hello, you could feel him hugging you tighter than usual.
"I don't believe you're so innocent…" he whispered before turning to Nancy and hugging her. Nancy used the momentum of attention she was getting from Billy to try to do her best to make Steve jealous. She stared at Billy's lips, which only so gladly returned all the flirting. But Steve only had eyes for you, and when Nancy realized it was no use, she dropped Billy like a hot potato.
After a few hours of all of you going around, drinking some more, dancing, and enjoying yourself, you felt tipsy and relatively happy. Steve was by your side all the time to the apparent annoyance of Nancy. People were already leaving the party, and the place was emptying itself slowly but steadily. Yet, your friend group seemed to be wanting to stay. Carol and Tommy were still making out. Billy was hitting on almost everyone. Everyone was drunk, everyone was laughing, and everyone was happy except for Nancy. Nancy was clearly bored.
"Let's spice this up, shall we?" Nancy asked out of nowhere, raising her eyebrows challengingly. Tommy and Carol stopped making out for a second, clearly both somewhat interested.
"How about Truth or Dare?"
Carol screeched in excitement, and before you knew it, all of you were seated around Steve's couch. You were just about to start when you heard a voice.
"Did I hear Truth or Dare?"
You all looked up and nearly choked on your drink when you saw who it was. It was Eddie Munson. Eddie, the Freak, Munson.
"What are YOU doing here?" Nancy asked, chuckling.
"Yeah, I'd like to know that too", Steve answered, raising his eyebrows.
"What, you're telling me I wasn't invited? I'm heartbroken," Eddie grinned, throwing himself onto the armchair next to Billy, who was clearly agitated at Eddie joining the group. It was just the Seven of you now; no one else was around. And due to the sudden emptiness of the house, it was almost…spooky. Though you'd never admit it.
"Alright, let the Freak play; he might just spice things up a little", Nancy clapped, and your group agreed, giggling, clearly all still welcome on the highs of the alcohol. You were trying your hardest to focus, but the alcohol was hitting harder than you expected. The edges of your vision were already blurring a bit.
"Thank you, Wheeler, I feel honoured" when Eddie said that, his eyes clung to you, gripping you in his gaze.
You had no idea why, but goosebumps covered your whole body. Eddie was sitting on his chair, his legs spread, heavy black boots, his curls wild, his eyes covered in black eyeliner… there was something to it. You guess that he was dressing up as one of the Rockstars he was known for listening. But before you could catch your thoughts expanding, drowning in them, you looked away to the floor, blushing.
"I'll start. Truth or Dare, Stevie?" Carol smiled innocently. Steve seemed taken aback.
"Truth", he said almost instantly. You weren't sure if that was the right choice.
"What's your favourite position?" she grinned; Tommy drew his eyebrows together, apparent jealousy at the question.
"Missionary, obviously", Nancy answered immediately, "he likes watching, don't you, big boy?"
Your mouth dropped open in shock. Everyone started laughing at Nancy's bold statement.
"She's right…", Steve answered, smiling innocently, rubbing the back of his neck as he grinned at you, apologizingly. Your stomach twisted at this humiliation; you obviously didn't know this; in fact, you didn't know anything. And you felt like they all knew. Felt like they could smell it all off of you.
"Alright, let's move on", Billy grumbled.
"Nance, Truth or Dare?" Steve asked. Why would he ask Nancy? This was genuinely getting unbearable.
"Truth", she grinned.
"Why do you like bullying people so much?" he asked. Nancy's face dropped.
"I don't bully people!" she screeched, defensively crossing her arms in front of her chest. Eddie scoffed at this.
"Well, you shouldn't be such a Freak then, Munson", she hissed.
"I don't really see how my existing bothers you so much, Wheeler, that you spread rumours about me. Honestly, I almost feel flattered", he answered casually.
"Well, I think it's weird you hang out with little kids so often, and you should stop peering into the Girl's showers."
"And the evidence that I did this is… where exactly?" Eddie asked curiously, putting his head slightly to the side. When Nancy didn't answer, Eddie grinned again.
"And the satanic cult thing? Where did you get that one from?"
"Can we move on? This is getting uncomfortable", Carol groaned as she stood up to get another drink.
"It's Wheeler's turn", Billy answered, nudging her to go for him next. But Nancy had a different idea. She was clearly humiliated and wanted to shift the blame and focus on someone else. So, she turned back to Eddie.
"Truth or Dare?" she asked, a wicked grin on her face.
"Dare", he answered, almost instantly, it seemed, even before thinking it through.
"I dare you to kiss the Angel."
"What?" you screeched.
"It's the game's rules; you shouldn't have played it if you didn't want to get burned!" Nancy laughed evilly. To your surprise, Eddie was by your side almost instantly. Steve didn't move, and Carol and Tommy were cheering.
"You'll have that tramp stamp on you forever, Angel. Freaks leave marks", Billy chuckled.
Eddie's hand softly reached your cheek, and he placed a kiss so softly on your lips that it was over before you realized it had been there. Nancy clapped in mock excitement. Why did the kiss feel so…good? Deep down, you craved more; Eddie was so mysterious. He smelled like cigarettes and liquor, a taste you weren't sure you had loved before but definitely were now.
"Pretty good for a virgin", Nancy chuckled.
You shook your head, pretending you didn't like it. You hadn't even realized what exactly Nancy had said. But you didn't mind it at this point; everyone except maybe Eddie already knew about it in this round. Steve wasn't saying anything but just stared at you blankly, looking like he had to hold back on saying something.
"It's the Freak's turn", Steve said, slightly shaking.
"I'll pick you, lover boy, Truth or Dare?" Eddie grinned. You saw Steve gulping at this, throwing out "Dare" before his breath caught up.
"I dare you to go get me a beer."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Wow."
Everyone groaned at this rather stupid and harmless dare, and it was a change of heart.
"Alright then", Steve said while getting up. When he strode towards the kitchen in the other room, Nancy beside him jumped up as well, mentioning she had to go to the toilet. Still, you knew exactly that she was about to use this momentum to talk to Steve alone. But you were too drunk to mind. So, you laid back and waited for them to get around. You felt Eddie's gaze on you out of the corner of your eyes.
Just as you were about to tell him to stop gaping at you, all the lights went out of nowhere. Carol screamed; Tommy fell down the chair because the noise startled him. Out of shock, you jumped up, whipping your head around in slight panic.
"Jeez, calm down, Angel; it's only a power failure here; I'll go check it out. Hand me the flashlight on the counter, Tommy", Billy hissed at you in clear annoyance.
You wanted to tell him not to go. You had a bad feeling about this. But you felt too dumb, too scared, too embarrassed. You had no evidence of anything terrible happening; no, on the opposite, everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their time.
So, Billy grabbed the light and went out of the room and down into the basement, where the main power fuse of the house was located.
The energy was highly uncomfortable with just you, Eddie, Carol and Tommy. The latter two had found their way back to each other and were back to making out. So, it just left you and Eddie, who were sitting opposite each other, both silent. But Eddie had you in his gaze. When neither Nancy, Steve or Billy returned after ten minutes, you started worrying. And not just you. Eddie seemed uncomfortable, and even Tommy and Carol noticed how weird it was. Without saying anything, you got up.
"Where are you going?" Tommy asked.
"I'm going to check up on Billy; this is weird", you said determinedly.
"I'm coming with you", Eddie said, getting up as well.
"Absolutely not", you said, even though you really didn't want to go alone.
"Do you have a flashlight?"
"No…"
"I have one. So, unless you want to stumble in the dark, I'll accompany you" Eddie grinned, and you rolled your eyes, nodding.
Eddie walked beside you as you both left the room, the light of the flashlight shining rather dimly in front of you, only helping minimally. Your eyes still weren't adjusted to the dark.
"Why were you here? Really, why? I know this isn't your usual vibe", you asked Eddie, seemingly out of nowhere.
"And why would you know that Angel?", he asked, gifting you a wicked grin. His curls were falling into his face.
"I never see you around these parties, so I assumed you didn't like them", you said.
"Were you looking for me then?" he chuckled mischievously.
"Don't be ridiculous; I go to many parties; I see many people, and I love it", you said, doing your best to convince yourself.
"Sure…" Eddie said, clearly not believing you. But you noticed that he didn't answer your question and didn't tell you why he was here, but before you could ponder why that was, you stopped in front of the door that led towards the basement.
"Ladies first…unless you're too scared?" Eddie smiled, bowing, opening the door for you, and waving his hand downwards.
You scoffed, stepping past him down the dark, creaky, brick staircase. Eddie shone down beside you, and due to the light hitting you from the back, your shadow was cast forward and nearly made you flinch. Eddie seemed to notice because he chuckled.
"This isn't funny, stop!" you hissed, and Eddie threw his hands up defensively.
The air in the basement was moist and felt rotten like it hadn't been opened in weeks. It was bigger than you expected, sporting at least the size of Steve's living room.
"Billy?" you asked, but no response came back.
"Can you shine around a bit? Maybe he's here somewhere…." you grumbled, and Eddie did as he was told. You walked in the direction you thought the power fuse would be, and Eddie stayed by the foot of the stairs, enlightening the room. It was darker in the back; Eddie's light didn't quite hit here. Then you spotted the power fuse in the dark, but you saw some of the blinking lights, indicating that the power was off.
Before you notified Eddie, you sprinted towards the power fuse, tripping over something wet on the floor. Your hand reached out for the switch, and you only just realized now that you were shaking. The button seemed to be blocked something, so you put all your strength on it and pushed it upwards. You succeeded because the lights went back on instantly, and your eyes fell on what was blocking the switch. It was a finger. A separated finger. And when you turned, you realized what you had tripped over.
On the floor, lying there, was Billy. Billy's corpse. His finger had been cut off, and his throat cut. Gurgling noises still came from him, indicating he hadn't entirely passed. You screamed in horror, and Eddie came running up to you, his face shaken with the same shock.
"Oh my god…" he panted and grabbed you instantly, pulling you towards him protectively.
"What the fuck! Eddie! We have to call the police; oh my god, is it the killer? The Serial Killer? Is he inside the house? He is inside the house! God, Eddie, please, we have to call 911; I- we- oh my god, Billy!" you whined, tears falling down your cheeks as you pressed your face into Eddie's neck, trying to forget what you saw. You couldn't believe what was happening; you were shaking all over and felt sick to your stomach. You were going to throw up.
"We have to get out of here", Eddie whispered.
"We can't just leave him here!" you cried, your voice breaking.
"We will come back for him, but we have to survive right now. Come on", he said, grabbing your hand and pulling you away from the corpse. You didn't know what to do; your head was spinning.
"We must warn Tommy, Carol, Nancy and Steve; we have to get them; oh my god…." you cried.
The two of you sprinted up the staircase, shutting the door behind you and locking it tightly. Then you ran towards the living room, but Carol and Tommy weren't there anymore.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no, nonononono…." you said, shaking your head in disbelief.
"We don't know what happened to them; maybe they tried to leave. Maybe they escaped!" Eddie said, his voice shaking slightly but relatively calm. He was trying to keep you in check to not completely lose your mind.
"Let's check for the car; they came by car, yeah?" Eddie suggested, and you nodded, grabbing his hand and running towards the front door. When Eddie clicked the door open, you whined when you saw Tommy's car still parked in the driveway.
"C'mon, maybe they're hiding in the car; let's go! And if they're not there, we can escape by taking their car!"
"Eddie, please, we can't leave them here", you whined, but Eddie ignored you, grabbing you towards the car. You weren't sure if the blurring of your vision was due to the alcohol or your crying.
Eddie whipped the car door open, and you nearly fainted when you saw both Tommy and Carol inside, bleeding onto the car floor, their throats slit as well. It was grotesque; it seemed as if Tommy had tried to protect Carol by flying himself in front of her because he had a deep stab wound in his chest. But it didn't matter in the end. They were both dead.
This had to be a bad dream. Your friends were getting killed off one by one. Your stomach twisted so hard that you turned away from the murder scene and vomited off the side of the car.
"Eddie. We have to get Steve and Nancy and then get out of here, you hear me? Right. Now", you said, your voice oddly confident. But you weren't optimistic at all. You were scared. But the anxiety had pushed forth your rationality. It was all about survival now. Eddie nodded, and the two of you ran back into the living room.
"Alright. Listen. I know one should never split up in horror movies, but I'm going to check out the top floor, okay? And you stay down here. Here, take this", Eddie said, handing you a little pocketknife, "use it to protect yourself, yeah? We have to find them as quickly as possible. If you see the killer scream, I'll come back immediately. I'll do the same, you hear me?"
It was a stupid decision, but at the moment, it seemed alright. So, Eddie walked by slowly up the steps. You walked towards the living room when you were sure he was up there, and you nearly screamed at what you saw.
A figure dressed in a black cloak, a ghost mask covering its face, held a bloody knife – you assumed THE bloody knife – to Nancy's neck. She was shaking all over. You would have screamed if the figure didn't urge you not to. It was holding its finger in front of its mouth. You obeyed; you didn't want it to hurt any more of your friends. And you were maybe able to save Nancy if you acted correctly. But Nancy had another idea.
"Please, Mr Ghostface, take her, not me; I won't tell a soul; I'll tell them it was her, and they'll believe me! Please don't kill me! Please I-"
But at that moment, the creature lifted the hand that wasn't gripping Nancy towards its own face. Slowly but steadily, it was ripping off its mask, and suddenly, a familiar face with brown hair and brown eyes was staring back at you.
"STEVE!" Nancy screamed. Your hands flew to your mouth, and you shook again, rooted to the spot. You couldn't move.
"Look at me, Nance…." Steve whispered softly as he turned her face towards him, bloodying her cheeks with his red hands, leaving stains all over, "…I want you to know it was me who killed all of your friends. And it will be me who will kill you. Now please, look at me while I put this knife through your guts, will you.? Because I do really love to watch…."
Before Nancy could respond, Steve flung his knife forward and buried it deep inside Nancy's stomach. Neither Nancy nor you screamed. You both just stared at the blade inside of her, and when Steve started twisting it, Nancy fell to her knees, collapsing on the floor. Nancy was convulsing on the floor, and Steve just stared at her before kneeling beside her.
"I would say I feel sorry but…well, I'm not", he spoke and ripped the knife out of her gut. The blood leaked down, staining her red dress an even darker red.
Silence had never been louder. You should have tried to save her and should have run. Should have just done ANYTHING, but you could do nothing but just stand there. When Steve returned to his feet, something lifted inside you, so you turned and bolted to the front door.
"Oh, come on, Angel, don't run from me!" he sighed, but you could feel the smile on his face. When you tried to pull the door open, it was locked. How could it have been closed? You just entered back in with Eddie. Eddie! You had forgotten he was here.
"Eddie!" you screamed, running towards the stairs, narrowly escaping Steve. He approached slowly but never ran, almost taunting and playing with you.
Eddie didn't answer.
"Eddie? Please! It's Steve! Eddie, it's Steve!" you screamed as you looked through the rooms, unable to find him anywhere. Then, when you turned, you hit something hard and screamed because you thought you had ended up in Steve's grip. But you hadn't. Eddie was standing in front of you.
"Oh, thank god, Eddie. It's Steve, I saw him kill Nancy, it's him, it's been him all along!" you cried, staring up at him. To your surprise, Eddie didn't flinch and didn't scream, and didn't look shocked. No. He smiled. And then he grinned wider until he began laughing frantically, manically.
"God, you really are stupid, aren't you?" he chuckled, shaking his head, his eyes opened widely.
"W-What?", you stuttered, taking a few steps back.
"You know I do like seeing those tears, sweetheart."
Out of nowhere, Steve appeared behind Eddie, putting his chin on Eddie's shoulder.
"I do, too", Steve replied. They were both staring at you like a predator would look at its prey.
"I think we should give her a chance to escape, whaddya say?" Eddie asked mockingly.
"Oh, absolutely, it's really more fun that way", Steve agreed, turning to look at you again.
"Run, little Angel. Run."
You burst through the side door, into the two-way bathroom, out the other side, around the two psychos, and down the stairs. You felt their steps behind you and tried hard to steady your breathing. You dashed through the house, the kitchen, the living room, and the garden area with the pool adjacent to the woods. You decided to go for it, sprinting into the woods, running and not looking back.
"Here, little piggy, come out wherever you are…." you heard them laughing.
They would regret taunting you; you were going to escape. You knew it, and you were going to live. But right then, you tripped over a root and fell, hitting your knees hard. You flinched, and as you got up to turn, you ran into something hard again. The curls struck your face before you even saw his face. Eddie smiled at you.
"Where you going, sweetheart?" he said as he gripped you against him tightly.
"I thought we told you to run, not trip" Steve appeared behind you, whispering into your ear.
"Let me go, you psychos", you hissed, your voice breaking in disgust.
"You pain us", Eddie said, clutching his chest, a deep grin still engrained on his face.
"I think we should take our little angel back inside; whaddya say, Stevie?"
And before you could answer, you were thrown over Steve's shoulder and carried inside. You tried to push him off, scream, and kick him, but nothing helped. You couldn't believe what was happening. This was Steve, your boyfriend and Eddie the Freak. How had they even got together? What was this? Why were they doing this? This had to be a bad dream.
They brought you back inside, laughing and cheering. Striding inside the living room, your view still upside down, you saw Nancy's corpse, bleeding out on the floor. You cried out when you saw her and all the blood, but neither Eddie nor Steve reacted; quite the opposite, they were rather annoyed at you babbling.
"Come on now, we know you never liked her; you can stop acting like it actually bothers you", Steve groaned, rolling his eyes.
He stepped through the puddle of blood, unbothered, as he put you back down on the living room sofa, where you had sat before when the world still made sense. Eddie sat beside you, frighteningly close, his thigh was touching yours, and you shivered at the closeness. Steve was pulling his chair closer, so he sat directly in front of you, the black costume still clinging onto him.
You were shaking, terribly afraid. But something about all of this, be it the adrenaline, the surrealness, or the closeness of the two killers, made it all feel oddly intimate, and you had to control your breathing. This was insanity. They had just killed all of your friends, and you were sitting here, thinking about how if Eddie pushed any closer, you would lose your mind, and if Steve moved his leg forward, he would be in between your legs. You hated it. Your body was betraying your mind. Why had they let you live? Was this the victim complex? Stockholm syndrome?
"You're oddly quiet, Angel" Steve smiled as he played with the bloody knife, shifting it around between his fingers, keeping you in his gaze.
"What the fuck am I supposed to say?" you hissed but stopped when you felt Eddie push his thigh against yours more strongly, clearly supposed to be a warning.
"Maybe thank us for not ripping your guts out?" Eddie suggested.
"No. Fuck you", you said, staring at the floor.
"No?" Steve grinned, "well then…."
Before you knew what was happening, Steve leaned forward and placed the bloody knife beneath your chin, forcing you to look up at him. The blood on the metal still felt warm and was unbelievably sticky against your skin. You gulped, and tears pooled in your eyes as Steve locked his eyes with yours.
"I think we should wash that dirty mouth of yours out, saying mean words like that…." Steve whispered before slowly spitting down onto your face. The cold spit hit your mouth, and before you could do anything to react, Steve pushed his fingers over your mouth, collecting his saliva and pushing his fingers inside. You were so shocked at what was happening that you didn't dare move.
"There we go, cleaned out again" Steve smiled as if nothing had happened when he pulled his fingers out.
"Why?" you forced out, trying to be as calm as possible, but your voice broke. At this, both Eddie and Steve chuckled, shaking their heads.
"Well, for starters, these kids all made my life a living hell…." Eddie said, leaning into you, too, whispering into your neck. You couldn't look at him as your eyes were still fixated on Steve, the knife still holding strong against your chin, but you felt his breath against your skin, and goosebumps covered your body.
"…and I've always wanted you."
The words rung deep in your ears and brain; what did Eddie mean by that? What was going on? Clearly, the shock had shown itself on your face because Steve laughed.
"Never felt a shadow in the back of your mind, watching? Never felt like you were being followed in the dark? Never felt like the stuff you clearly remembered putting somewhere was missing? Never felt like when you were alone in your room, you weren't really, and someone was watching you through the windows? Oh, little Angel, Eddie knows you better than you think. He knows what naughty, naughty things you get up to when you think no one is watching…."
You gulped, tears streaming down your cheeks now. This wasn't true. They were trying to scare you. This was all a stupid lie, a stupid Halloween prank, and they were all in on it. This had to be a joke.
"You don't believe him, do you?" Eddie asked, his lips only inches away from your ear, "I think this might change your mind, sweetheart."
Eddie reached into his back pocket and pulled out a piece of fabric, dangling it in front of your face. It was a pair of your panties. You remember them precisely because they had the little bow in the front that you thought was adorable at first glance. And they had been missing. Missing for months at this point. And Eddie had them. Oh god. He had been in your room. When was he there? What did he know? Did he watch you while you were…when you were…
"I think she believes you now, Munson. Good girl, finally putting the pieces together", Steve grinned, twisting the knife slightly underneath your chin.
"You're probably wondering how I'm involved in all of this…well", Steve began, pulling the knife away from your chin and leaning back. You exhaled heavily, your breath shaking.
"This is really the fun part…." Eddie whispered, but this time, he leaned into your neck, softly putting his lips against your skin, kissing it. You would have flinched, and you should have jumped. But it felt good. His lips were soft, shooting electricity through your whole body, which wasn't okay. You felt Eddie groan against your neck.
"Poor Eddie was so deprived, so in love, so obsessed yet you didn't give him any time of the day. So, when the chance arose, I stepped in. Preparing you for him, as a gift, really. Although I have to say I've grown quite fond of you as well, little Angel. I do have a thing for virgins…God, they get wet so easily…" Steve narrated, "and it was hard, keeping off of you. I noticed how badly you craved me, but I had to hold back. For Eddie. Poor little Eddie."
Eddie was grinning now; he had moved away from you and was now catching Steve in his eyes. Before you knew what was happening, Eddie leaned forward, his hand on Steve's thigh now, moving upwards, their faces only inches away from each other. Steve was grinning back.
"And I appreciate everything you've done, big boy."
And then Eddie put his lips on Steve, and they began making out rather wildly right in front of your own face. It was obscene how much your eyes clung to them, and despite your moral compass, you could feel yourself growing more agitated and more…wet. Why was this happening? What was going on? Before you could say anything else, an involuntary silent, almost inaudible whine left your mouth.
But the volume didn't matter because Steve and Eddie noticed, stopped kissing, turned their heads towards you and raised their eyebrows with cheeky grins.
"I think someone is a little desperate for attention, Stevie", Eddie spoke.
"Well then…I guess we know what we have to do."
It might have been the pause, the sense of reality, the grip to do something, but you took the chance, sprung to your feet and bolted up, running towards the front door. They clearly hadn't expected it but were on you right after. The front door was still locked, so you decided to dash upstairs to maybe flee out of a window.
You hid in Steve's room, inside his closet. Maybe if they thought you had escaped, they would go back into the woods to search for you, and it was your opportunity to leave.
"Aw, come out, sweetheart, wherever you are!" Eddie hauled through the corridor, a filthy chuckle following this.
"We were just starting to have fun!" Steve added. Just when you thought they had passed his room they bolted inside. Your hand flew up to your mouth, trying to silence your breathing.
"Would you look at that", Eddie laughed as he knelt down, picking up something off the floor. It was the pocketknife he had given you, and you had forgotten you had it, and now it was on the floor, clearly marking that you were in the room.
"Little Angel…come out come out….", Steve taunted before stopping in front of his closet. It was slightly see-through because it had little holes in the door, and Steve's head turned and gripped your eyes with his gaze through the holes.
"There you are!" he smiled as he ripped open the closet door. You screamed, kicking, shouting, begging him to let you go.
"Oh, come on, Angel, you really have to stop with the act; we know you didn't actually care about them; we were doing you a favour! You are free now!" Steve said as he pulled you out of the closet again and threw you on his bed, laying you on your back.
"Besides, we know your dirty secrets. Eddie and I had a good read of your little diary…." Steve smiled as he towered and leaned over you, pushing you down onto his bed. Eddie was standing on the opposite side, by your head.
"You don't know shit!" you shouted, unsure of where this confidence had come from.
"Oh yeah? What about wanting all of your friends to disappear? Your hatred towards them? How they treated you, Nancy, especially? How you wished you could rip their heads off yourself? Don't play dumb now we KNOW", Steve continued.
Tears were pooling in your eyes again. It was true, you had written it in your diary. But you didn't mean it literally. You would never wish for the death of anyone for that matter. This was unfair. SO so unfair.
"We took care of it, sweetheart…now let us take care of you…", Eddie whispered, leaning forwards over your head so you saw him upside down; your view flipped. His curls were nearly tickling your forehead as he stared at you.
"I can take care of myself…." you whined as Steve pushed his leg forward, slowly moving his way up between your legs.
"Are you sure? What about that little fantasy of yours, huh? You seem to really enjoy knives, isn't that so? Eddie here even caught you once, you know… when you were masturbating…how you had tried to choke yourself with a mock knife; it's ridiculous but adorable. But you don't have to hide, not from us, Angel. You can be your true self, the authentic version of you we see. Don't hide…."
"I-I can't; it's I don't want-" you mumbled, stumbling over your words as Steve pushed his knee right between your legs. You whined silently, and he smiled down at you. The blood was sticking onto all of you, and your white Angel dress now had multiple stains. The knife was lying beside your head, omnipresent, radiating onto you.
"I think your body knows what it wants; let's check, shall we?" Steve smiled, and with one quick motion, he flipped up your dress, revealing the panties you were wearing underneath.
"Oh, Angel… you're soaked."
"I want to see", Eddie spoke and moved next to Steve, his eyes widening when he saw your core. He put his fist in front of his mouth and bit down on it, rather roughly. He was trying hard to control himself it seemed.
Before you or Steve could react, Eddie reached over you to the knife and slid it across your thighs, upwards, towards the panties.
"You should hold your breath Angel, or I might hurt you accidentally", Eddie spoke in a sticky sweet artificial voice.
You had to hold back your moans – the way the cold metal felt across your skin was a sensation you never thought you would like. But you did. Extremely so. When Eddie pushed the flat side of the knife against your core, you whined loudly for the first time.
"There she is" Eddie grinned wickedly right before he cut the strings off the panties and revealed yourself right then and there. Both Steve and Eddie groaned at the sight.
"Please let me", Eddie whispered to Steve.
"Of course, she was your choice, after all."
Eddie slid his hands over your thighs and positioned himself right in front of your core. His bloody hands left trails on your legs. Before you could react, flinch away, say anything, do anything, Eddie had brought his tongue forward and kitty licked over your clit. You nearly screamed, and it felt way too good.
"God, you're gonna make me cum in my pants just by making those sweet noises, Angel", Eddie groaned and then got to work. He began licking all over, taking in all of your scents and juices, playing with your clit.
"Fuck, you taste so good, even better than through those panties, sweetheart."
You were a mess already, your hot moans filled the room, and when you saw that Steve had sat on a chair, his hands in his pants which were covered by the black costume, lazily jerking himself off at sight, you nearly lost it right then and there.
But then Steve got up. "I can't sit back anymore", he said while positioning himself on the top of your head where Eddie had stood before. You were too dazed to understand what was going on.
"Open your mouth", Steve said as he took himself out of his pants. Your mouth fell open in shock. Steve's erection was massive, way bigger than you had ever thought was possible, and his pubes were perfectly trimmed.
"He's perfect, isn't he?" Eddie smiled from underneath you, stopping to admire what was happening before him.
"Open up wider for me, Angel", Steve said again, and you obeyed without even thinking.
"There we go, good little Angel", he grinned while positioning himself, gripping himself and then he slowly pushed in, groaning ever so slightly. The stretch of your mouth and throat was obscene, and Steve barely fit half of himself in when he had already hit the back of your throat and you were gagging around him.
"God…what a slutty little throat you have…bet you wanted to do this forever, haven't you? Choking on my dick…." Steve groaned, and the suddenness of his words made you dizzy. Eddie was watching Steve fuck your throat while getting back to licking your cunt.
You felt yourself growing close, and when Steve began fucking your throat, the vile sounds of his cock down your throat sent your head in circles.
"I think we better start preparing her if her cunt is even slightly as tight as her mouth is", Steve groaned while moving. You didn't know what he meant at first, but when you felt Eddie's finger at your entrance, you knew what was about to happen.
You screamed against Steve's dick when Eddie pushed his ring-covered finger inside you, and combined with the licking of his tongue, you felt the pressure building.
"Oh, fuck keep doing that, her throat is so tight right now", Steve moaned, and Eddie obeyed, speeding up. You saw stars. It was all getting too much.
"I feel you tightening sweetheart, can you cum for us? I think you should and show us how grateful you are, come on now, cum around my finger", Eddie taunted, and that was it. You moaned against Steve's cock, flinched against Eddie's fingers and came so hard that you thought you were about to pass out. This was after all the first orgasm you ever had that wasn't caused by you.
"Fuck, that's it, keep moaning, you slut, come on, god…." Steve groaned as he sped up his movements rather roughly, and when he finally came inside of you, you felt his sticky cum running down your throat. He hadn't even given you a choice of swallowing; it was already deep inside you.
"Open your mouth. Show me it's all gone", he said as he pulled out. You obeyed, and he nodded. "That's a good Angel…."
Eddie had pulled off you and was moving upwards, laying his lips on yours. You tasted yourself on his tongue, but it was combined with the taste of Steve's cum. It should have been disgusting, but it wasn't. It was hot. Hot in the best way. He lifted you up and sat you by the side of the bed, making out filthy with you, sticking his tongue down your throat. You whined against him, and he let his hands explore your whole body, over your throat, down your collarbones, squeezing your breasts, stomach, and thighs.
He then pulled away and only then had you noticed Steve was right next to you, so you turned around, and Steve laid his lips on you too. The same routine followed, and Steve also stuck his tongue down your throat.
You were going back and forth between the two, a rope of spit interconnecting you all. In between, Eddie leaned in to kiss Steve again, just like he had done it downstairs. Your head was spinning; you were already too far gone. All of your faces were covered with the blood of their victims, and it was vulgar.
"I think she's ready", Steve voiced.
"Let's ask her, are you ready, sweetheart?" Eddie smiled softly. The softest he had ever been the whole evening. You nodded.
Eddie laid you on the bed, and Steve stayed by your side. Eddie took off his pants so fast you didn't even notice. He wasn't as big as Steve, but he was still big. When he lined up with you, his head over yours, you saw how beautiful Eddie was for what felt like the first time.
"You ready to lose your virginity? To the Freak?" he grinned. And when you smiled, you knew it was over. They had won. This is what you wanted. This is what you needed.
Eddie pushed inside of you, and you whined at how full you immediately felt. The sensation was unlike anything you had ever experienced before. You suddenly understood why everyone was so obsessed with sex. You were still sore and overstimulated from the other orgasm, making this all the more intense.
"God…." he groaned, "… you're so…oh god."
When he began moving, you felt Steve pulling you onto his chest, wrapping his arms around you. Steve then softly began covering one of his hands around your throat and pushed down. Eddie was driving in and out, faster and rougher than before. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head at the sensation.
"I've wanted to do this for so long. God, you're so fucking tight; this cunt is even better than I imagined; I feel like I'm going to bust already", he moaned in-between thrusts. And when Steve began to push down harder on your throat, you felt like you had ascended to heaven because nothing should ever feel this good.
"Fuck, keep choking her, Stevie; she's way tighter now."
And that's what he did. You were moaning and sure that if someone was walking past, they'd hear what you were doing from the outside.
"Look at how deep he is inside of you Angel, I think you should thank him for fucking you", Steve whispered softly into your ear before positioning your head so that you had to stare at how Eddie rutted inside of you. There was a slight bulge where the two of you connected every time Eddie drove inside you.
"T-thank you, E-eddie", you moaned in-between thrusts, and Eddie grinned at you. But Steve pushed further.
"I think you should also thank him and me for getting rid of your annoying friends. Come on now. Thank him for choosing you and killing them."
Your head was spinning. This was not okay; you knew it wasn't. It was terrible; you shouldn't feel the need to thank someone for something as horrible as this. But you couldn't resist, and it was all too much.
"T-Thank you. Eddie, for choosing me. And thank you for…for….killing them!" you whined, your eyes closed at the sensation. Steve laughed behind you, and Eddie, too, had a wicked smile on his face, his eyes clearly enjoying himself too much.
There was a mania behind those eyes that frightened you. But as much as it did scare you, you didn't care. All you wanted was for him to keep fucking you like that. And that's what he did. And when Eddie finally came inside you with a deep groan, you didn't care about anything else. This was all you needed, and as you came again for the second time, Steve pushed Eddie's cum back inside you while Eddie kissed you hard on the lips. And when the three of you fell asleep, covered in blood, all fucked out in Steve's bed, deep down, you wished that it could stay this way forever.
WOW…just WOW, this chapter was amazing, and I meant that my heart was the victim in THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE because god the way you wrote Eddie’s and the reader dynamic after those criminal events is just SO sweet and natural, you had me giggling like crazy at the begging with Eddie carrying the pink backpack, you had me ANGRY with that mf Jason, seriously I never wanted to punch a fictional character so bad before, and Wayne’s and Eddie little haircut moment??? I literally shed a tear, might be my daddy issues showing lmaoo I DON’T KNOW ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT WAS PERFECT 😭 and overall you had my heart doing cart wheels with this chapter and to be honest with the whole fic, and I hope this hella long text doesn’t bother you but I feel it’s my duty to tell you that you are an incredibly talented writer and I know you don’t owe me or anyone here on tumblr anything (so if anyone has been rude with you about your writing or about how often you update or literally anything else, just give me the word and I will fight them myself) and I could never thank you enough for sharing your work but seriously thank you 💕
Now come here, you deserve all the flowers, kisses, and everything that’s beautiful for writing such a masterpiece THANK YOU THANK YOU
I can't oh my god. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

Dear everyone. First, I want to apologize for the late update. I just started a new job and life has been quite hectic. So, thank you for being so patient with me.
Second of all, since October is my favourite month and I’ve been feeling quite spooky, additionally to updating this fic, I’m already planning a different one-shot idea for a SteddiexReader Ghostface Oneshot AU for Halloween.
Let me know if you would like that idea! Again, thank you SO SO much for all the love, it truly means the world.
Much love, Kaiasyko <3<3<3

Chapter 15: Family Affairs
To your surprise, life got more manageable and more complicated when you stepped out of Eddie's van the following week when he was allowed to be back on the school ground. How this entanglement of circumstances could be better and worse simultaneously seemed unclear to you.
Despite everything, despite everyone abandoning you and you supposed to feel quite alone, you didn't. Of course, you were scared; it would be an utter lie pretending the circumstances didn't frighten you. But it felt right. Even though you had no idea what was coming your way, what to expect of your new life, the thought of, for the first time in your life, having control over what you wanted made it all feel right.
And after all, you weren't really alone – you were true to yourself. And that is the furthest anyone could ever be from being alone.
The air outside was cold and dry – but in a comforting way. It wrapped itself around you like a silky scarf, creeping its way in, protective but never oppressive. You felt your breath hitch when you saw an all too familiar car pull into the parking ground, circling its way around and purposefully driving excruciatingly slow by you. When you thought you might lose it, you felt warmth enwrap your hand, slightly squeezing it.
You looked over your shoulder, and there he stood, his famous grin engrained on his face, his curls wilder than ever, just staring at you, and how his eyes focused on you reassured you in every way you had ever doubted before. He didn't have to say anything and just had to squeeze your hand and smile; that's all it took. He softly let go of your hand, took a step back to open the van's back door, and grabbed your pink school bag, casually throwing it over his shoulder before locking the van, clutching your hand, and drawing you away behind him.
Eddie clearly sensed your nervousness.
"What are you doing?" you chortled as your pink backpack jumped around on his back.
"I think Pink suits me; don't you think?" Eddie answered while turning around, posing the backpack. He looked incredibly ridiculous, and you couldn't help but giggle.
"You're an absolute idiot, Munson", you grinned, rolling your eyes as you strutted past him.
"May I add – your idiot", he announced as he ran to keep up the pace, his chain dangling and rattling behind you.
"Do not make me responsible for your acts", you beamed at him, lifting your eyebrow.
"That's what you get for dating the Freak", he mock-bowed in front of you.
"Where is your school bag anyways?" you asked, genuinely confused.
Eddie grinned and reached his hand into the back pocket of his jeans before he pulled out one and only one pen, wiggling it in front of your face.
Before you could answer, a huge group of people passed the two of you, and by the way the footsteps echoed on the floor, you knew who it was. Before you learned what was happening, Eddie was pushed roughly towards the lockers by non-other than Jason.
"Brave of you to show your face around here, Freak", he hissed, ignoring you. Eddie's face was still bruised from the last time the two had encountered each other, and you felt sick at the thought. But it was your time to step up now. You had to protect Eddie if it was the last thing you'd ever do.
"Don't you dare", you spoke threateningly before you even realized that the words had tumbled out of your mouth.
Everyone turned around towards you. The jocks gathered around, Jason, Eddie, and everyone else watching the spectacle unfold in the hallway.
"I don't think I was talking to you, bitch”, Jason hissed, and the words - even though you didn't want them to – stung. But you wrapped yourself up and approached him, your hands shaking violently.
"You know what, Jason? If it makes me a bitch, going for what I love? Fine. I don't care. I'm a bitch. The biggest one you've ever met. At least I dare to be myself and not some washed-up version of a person you want me to be. I don't care anymore", you hissed back, Jason's face getting angrier the more words left your mouth.
"Speaking like a true slut”, Jason chuckled back, clearly slightly shaken by what you had dared to speak.
"Oh, you know what's the best thing about being a slut?" you whispered loud enough so that everyone could hear.
There was a pause, but Jason didn't answer, and you didn't give him any more of a chance to do so.
"Being with someone that can actually make me cum."
At that, the whole atmosphere of the room seemed to change. Eddie's mouth dropped open with a smile of disbelief, Jason's jock friends all broke out in loud laughter and Jason's face, for the first time ever, turned incredibly red. Anger, fury, and embarrassment were just a few of the expressions readable on his face. He stared and tried his best to find something to say but inevitably let go of Eddie and ran off into a sea of laughter.
Served him right, you thought as you watched him leave. Eddie sprang up beside you as he turned towards you and grabbed your face with his hands.
"I love you", he declared, a smile covering his face, shaking his head before he placed a kiss on your lips in front of everyone.
In Chemistry class afterwards, one of the recent assignments was handed back. You didn't expect any difference, so you had to take a second glance when you saw what stared back at you.
The grade was not what you were used to. It was worse. Not far worse but not something you had seen in a while. Then again, your mind was indeed entirely occupied at the moment. It seemed like your final piece of the façade was crumbling in front of you. Going to an Ivy League College was never your plan – it was always what your parents and surroundings expected of you.
But now – as you were already questioning so much – you were also questioning your future. What was it you liked? What did you want to do? What brought you joy? The questions swirled around in your head, and the longer you stared at the unexpected grade, the quicker your breaths hastened. Your heart fluttered, and you gripped the table's edge hard but quietly so no one knew.
You never questioned this before; ideas were constantly swirling around but never anything concrete. So why not change everything if you're already on it? Anxiety mixed with excitement filled you, and you never thought that a "bad" grade could affect your mood so much in a positive way. If you were already disappointing your parents, you might as well go for it completely.
When you met Eddie for Lunch, all eyes were on you. But you didn't care, you gripped his hand somewhat hard, and he raised his eyebrows at you, grinning, surprised. He then leaned in towards you and whispered in your ear:
"You know, if you want to shock them even more, I got an idea or two…."
He then proceeded to kiss your neck, and you squeaked, grinning but pushing him off. You would be lying to yourself if you didn't find Eddie's boldness extremely hot, but you weren't about to give into his cocky self. He had to earn it if he really, really wanted it.
So, you strode past him, letting go of his hand and sitting down by the Hellfire Club Lunch table, where Dustin especially looked extremely happy seeing the two of you walking up.
Eddie took a seat beside you and immediately began speaking to his friends about what he did on his time off, making it seem way easier than it actually had been. In all the times you had been in this cafeteria, you had never felt more at ease. Everything just seemed so comfortable; no need to pretend, and you could just be yourself.
"Have you heard? About the Band Sign up?" Garreth asked Eddie, who lifted an eyebrow and angled his head, clearly interested.
"Holy shit Munson, they're holding a competition. A national Band competition held in Indianapolis hosted by one of the record guys that has Anthrax signed. There is a rumour going around they're searching for a new preact for their US leg of the upcoming tour."
"Are you fucking kidding me right now? I swear if this is some twisted joke-" Eddie responded, hammering his fingers on the table and raising his upper body threateningly but clearly excited.
"I swear on DnD that I'm not bullshiting you", Garreth answered, grinning, lifting his hands into the air defensively.
Eddie jumped onto the table, and you screeched at the unexpected notion. All the guys laughed as Eddie struck out his hands, laying his head into his neck.
"Lady and Gentlemen…" he hollered, pointing at each person around the table, "… you are witnessing the beginning of our international career. Mark my words – Corroded Coffin will succeed!"
All the guys cheered at his words, and you couldn't help but join in the laughing and cheering. Eddie seemed so happy, and there was no amount of doubt in his eyes. He was utterly determined and fully convinced. Before he stepped down the table, he pointed at you.
"Are you ready to become a groupie?" he grinned, looking down on you quite invitingly.
"I would never; I heard the guitarist is quite cocky", you answered.
Eddie clutched his heart in mock hurt.
"You hurt me, knightess."
Later that day, you took Eddie to a particular place you still had duty in: Family Video.
Eddie didn't remember anything from the drive home, so you had to fill him in on the missing gaps. He was definitely playing down his embarrassment as you told him who exactly had driven you home.
Apparently, it had been the former King of Hawkins High, Steve Harrington. How that detail had been missed by you seemed quite inexplainable, but then again, you were definitely occupied differently in that situation.
Eddie didn't react when mentioning the girl because neither of you had ever heard about her. But after bringing up the story to Dustin, he told the two of you that her name was Robin Buckley, and she and Steve both worked at Family Video downtown. Oddly enough, Dustin seemed to be close to the both of them – how that happened, you weren't quite sure, but you didn't care enough to ask at that moment.
"I am not going in there", Eddie mumbled, crossing his arms in front of his chest and shaking his head as you parked in front of the store.
You grinned at him, challengingly raising an eyebrow.
"Nope. Nope. I won't. You can't make me", he continued, shaking his head more clearly. The embarrassment suited him; it was quite adorable, really.
"Well, I will go in and thank them and tell them you're in the car because you're too scared, so whatever you prefer", you declared, stepping out your side of the van. Eddie watched you and then started cursing as he got out of the van as well.
"I will die of embarrassment. I hope you know that. I hope you'll be proud of yourself", he continued.
"You're so dramatic", you grinned, striding towards the entrance to the video store. A little bell dangled as the door swung open, and to your surprise, the store was rather packed. All different kinds of people were inside, families, loners, couples, friend groups…
"Welcome to Family Video, the best place for videos of any kind; my name is Steve Harrington, and if you need anything, please don't he-" Steve began as he had his back turned towards the two of you but stopped when he spun around, his chin holding several stacks of Video Tapes in place.
"Oh, hi!" he said, surprised when he glimpsed you.
"Hey…", you smiled back, a sudden unusual shyness coming over you.
"I see Munson over there is looking back to his cheery old self", Steve beamed, nodding his head towards Eddie.
"I wasn't aware that you two were on a last name basis", you questioned, glaring back and forth between the two.
Eddie didn't say anything, clearly agitated at the situation.
"It's Dustin; he's the one that always goes off about his Dunk Master, " Steve said, turning towards the store counter and steading the stack of videotapes.
Behind, you could hear Eddie inhale sharply.
"It's DUNGEON Master."
You were somewhat surprised at how much he did not want to give Steve the satisfaction of a thank you.
"So... what kind of tapes are you searching for? Let me tell you, we have quite the collection," he announced rather brightly.
Out of nowhere, Eddie stepped forward, past you.
"I doubt you have the tapes we are looking for, Harrington", he said, and his tone was back to his usual playful self. A switch seemed to have happened in Eddie's brain that you weren't quite sure you could pinpoint.
"We aren't actually here for any tapes", you interrupted, your eyebrows furrowed together, clearly confused.
"We actually wanted to say thank you, big boy", Eddie said seriously, to your surprise.
"Exactly", you confirmed, gifting Steve a faint smile.
"Oh", Steve said, a little stunned.
"Oh", Eddie confirmed, grinning.
"Don't worry about it, no big deal. Glad to see your face is still attached to your head" Steve nodded before turning back and walking behind the counter.
"Is Robin here? I'd like to thank her too", you mentioned.
"Oh, no, she's out today. But I'll tell her!" Steve smiled enthusiastically.
"I want to return the favour", Eddie said out of nowhere.
"Oh, you really don't have to", Steve mentioned, a little uncomfortable. You were highly amused at this encounter and watched it all clearly interested.
"I saw you and her at the concert last time, figured you'd be happy to attend for free this time. In Indianapolis, that is."
At this, your eyebrows rose as high as ever, and a big smile covered your face as you turned to Steve.
"You? Were at Eddie's concert? Metal?" you chuckled.
"Oh, I could say the same about you, little Queen of Hawkins High", Steve responded.
"Former Queen", you mumbled.
"Looks like we're going to have a whole family of former royals in the midst of our crowds!" Eddie cheered enthusiastically, beating his fingers on the counter.
It seemed that even though Eddie had some apparent grudge against Steve, he got over himself and his dramatic ego and said thank you. The situation was still kind off awkward but in an endearing, Eddie-like way.
The next few weeks seemed to pass by in a storm. Eddie and his Band did indeed sign up for the Band tryout in Indianapolis, and you volunteered to drive them there – which they all kindly accepted. The tryout would be the week before Christmas, on the exact day where the Winter Snow Prom would be held.
The days until that day were filled with almost daily practices – the sign-up specified covers only. Still, Eddie insisted on debuting an original song they named "Hellfire" after their infamous DnD club.
Even though Eddie wasn't the group's lead singer, he loved writing lyrics just as much as he loved preparing his DnD campaigns. You believed that if he hadn't been into music as much, he definitely could have been an author.
Oddly enough, it didn't take long for you to get used to your new life. The thing you had been dreading the most was confronting your parents. You had talked to them about all of this, trying to explain to them how happy Eddie made you, and even though they didn't understand and thought you had completely lost it, you knew they'd come around sooner or later. They had to.
You were convinced that if they knew Eddie, what he was like, how happy he made you, they would approve of your relationship. No matter how hard you tried to not care what your parents thought, they were still your parents. And you still wanted them in your life.
Yet sadly, they had made no effort to pay you any attention. What happened after you confronted them – made you sick. They didn't eat dinner with you nor greet you. They treated you like hot air when you were around and only made the most necessary contact when they had to.
It felt as if they thought you had an illness and whatever had come over you could pass to them if they weren't careful, like a highly contagious disease. You kept your distance, spent more time at Eddie's trailer than at home, and at one point, there seemed to be a mutual understanding with all parties involved that you almost lived there now.
It was a soft kicking out. Quiet in the sense that your parents wouldn't have to take the blame for being bad parents – they could just tell their friends that you were the one constantly abandoning them. It would fit their narrative – you hadn't been to church in weeks.
Life had pretty much become ordinary – in the best sense. You'd usually spend your time at Eddie's except when you had to pick up something at home. Under normal circumstances, this might have raised some red flags with how quickly things between you and Eddie were going, but then again, nothing about the two of you was really ever ordinary.
In the week before Corroded Coffin's tryout, one evening after school, you were particularly gloomy. You couldn't quite put your finger on what it was; maybe it was the fact that Christmas was coming up, and your parents had pretty much abandoned you – going on vacation for holidays to the Bahamas. Not with you, of course. They insisted on you staying home to "guard the house" and basically called you crazy when you pointed out the true reason for them ditching you.
You didn't want to complain in front of Eddie, and you didn't want him to think you were unhappy or to feel like it was because of him. But Eddie noticed, and he definitely did – could read you like a book, to your absolute annoyance.
So, when you got back to his trailer and dropped your bag on the floor, you were about to sit on the couch when he rushed past you, sat down on the sofa before you could and hauled you down onto his lap.
"Do you want to tell me what's going on, or do I have to squeeze it out of you? You know I will knightess, don't tempt me with a good time", he grinned.
"It's nothing", you mumbled.
Eddie's smile widened.
"Even though your grumpy face and attitude are quite adorable, I do prefer you being honest with me…", he expressed, suddenly pushing you down onto the sofa beside him "… I'm sorry it had to come to this…but then again…not really."
Before you knew what was happening, Eddie put his whole body weight on you, effectively squishing you into the couch.
"What in the god's name-" you started pushing out.
"I told you I'm going to squeeze it out of you", he shrugged, unimpressed. You tried to wiggle out of his grip, but there was no use. He was literally squeezing you into the couch, his curls tickling your face.
"Alright, alright!!" you groaned and breathed in strongly as he lifted his body up again, effectively releasing you from his cage.
"God Munson, you are an absolute butthead", you groaned, repressing a smile, rubbing the back of your neck.
And then you told him. Eddie was attentive and seemed to genuinely care for what you were saying. Of course, any advice was hard, it was a challenging situation, and barely anyone could relate to it. But even though no words could have ever really calmed you down, his presence and taking you seriously was more than enough.
Before the two of you could do anything else – and you were definitely in a mood for a certain different kind of distraction the door burst open, and Eddie's uncle Wayne stepped in. You greeted him with a smile – the two of you had gotten quite close over the last few weeks, and Wayne seemed oddly accommodating and genuinely seemed to like you.
This time something was different in the way he stared at Eddie. Out of nowhere, he raised his finger and pointed at him, stepping closer and closer. Your heart was racing, your pulse exploding. What had happened? Did someone say something?
"You, Edward, are in desperate need of getting your hair cut. Sit down."
Wayne then strolled out of the living room into his own bedroom to seemingly get some scissors. You couldn't believe what you were hearing.
"Edward?" you chortled, your eyebrows raised, arms crossed in front of your chest as you gaped at Eddie. Somehow you never even considered Eddie a nickname – although, in hindsight, it made sense.
"Are you blushing?" you asked, closing in on him, grinning mischievously.
"As if", he chuckled, trying his best to seem nonchalant, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Alright, Edward", you annunciated his name as you stopped only inches away from him, looking up, your breath hitting his face.
"Don't you dare", he whispered back, the left side of his mouth raising.
"Oh, I absolutely will", you replied, twisting your neck challengingly.
"You absolute devil…" he said while resting his hand on your waist, pulling you in. You didn't expect the sudden closeness, so you couldn't resist but groan silently at the sudden pressure and heat connecting the two of you. The sensation of Eddie's electricity never seemed to fade, and you hoped it never would.
Eddie reached forward and kissed your neck softly.
"Eddie, your uncle…." you whispered, your voice breaking.
You didn't want him to stop, but you knew you had to. Eddie reached to grab your hand and then slowly, almost casually, put your hand on his crotch. You whined when you realized he was already sporting a hard-on. You smiled; you hadn't even really done anything.
"That's what you do to me, knightess", he whispered.
From the other room, you heard a rumble and then footsteps, so you tried to pull away, but Eddie didn't let you.
The footsteps closed in, and Eddie bit your neck rather roughly before forcing you back a few steps just in time. Wayne came around the corner, his left hand armored with worn-out, almost rusty scissors.
"I absolutely need to see this", you declared as you sat down on the couch as Wayne pulled out two of the pull-out stools and positioned them in the middle of the trailer.
It seemed to be a practiced routine between the two because as Wayne was preparing the spot, Eddie went to the bathroom to clutch one of the towels that looked rather worn out. You guessed it was the designated hair-cutting towel.
"How long have you been doing it for him?" you questioned Wayne as he sat down on one of the stools while Eddie was in the bathroom.
"Ever since he was a little boy. Ever since, he accidentally cut it himself and ended up looking like one of them knights of his books. With helmet and all", he smiled to himself.
You couldn't help but chuckle.
"I'm sure he looked great", you smiled, putting your hands in your lap.
"I gotta picture, ya wanna see?" he asked, staring up at you, his eyes slightly sparkled.
"Absolutely!" you stated. Wayne reached out to the back pocket of his jeans and pulled out his wallet.
Inside the wallet, you recognized there were multiple pictures of different people. You couldn't spot them exactly, but you immediately wondered who Wayne Munson was carrying in his pocket besides Eddie.
He then pulled out one of the bigger pictures, which was folded and handed to you. Softly, you unfolded it in front of you.
The photo had white streaks due to it being folded so often, and the colours were definitely faded a bit. Still, the face on the picture was immediately recognizable.
It pictured a young Eddie, his infamous grin engrained even then, and he was sporting the scissors in his right hand proudly, puffing his chest, genuinely convinced that his achievement was worthy.
"What the boy lacked in precision and accuracy in work like this, he made up for with his creativity and knowledge of mechanics", Wayne grumbled, seeming touchingly proud of his nephew.
Eddie's hair in the photo was a mess, and it was way shorter than usual, cut rather abruptly, and it did indeed resemble a helmet – or a bowl. You chuckled softly at it, it was truly adorable, and Wayne joined you in laughing.
"What are you two giggling about?" Eddie spoke, the towel wrapped around his shoulders as he came out of the bathroom and back into the living room.
You held up his picture rather provocatively. Eddie's mouth dropped open, and he clutched his heart, holding his chest in mock pain.
"Going behind my back? How dare you, Wayne!" he screeched as he pretended to faint onto the stool opposite his uncle.
"You look rather proud of yourself in the picture", you grinned, handing the photo back to Wayne.
"Of course, have you not seen the majestic helmet I was sporting? No warrior could ever compare."

Chapter 14: Every rose has its thorn
Eddie didn't come to school the following week. You didn't dare visit him in his trailer; the shame and embarrassment were too big. No forgiveness could ever be enough to forget this, and you definitely had done enough. Eddie didn't need this in his life; this added hardship, the added stress, the added pain. It was not worth it; you were not worth it.
If you had thought school was difficult before, it was absolutely no comparison to how it was when you strolled into the main building on Monday morning. Every number of sounds and voices seemed to ultimately be drowned out, and the hallway was swallowed by silence and judging stares – by the Jocks at least. It was horrible. The rumour had definitely spread about you confessing your love to Eddie, and even though this is what you always dreaded, it nearly did not concern you at all.
In fact, a weight seemed to be lifted off your shoulders. One can't choose who one loves, so why should you be ashamed of it? And High School fame was completely artificial anyways. Who cares? You'd be out of here in less than a year. What proved to be harder was forgiving yourself for what you had done, especially now since you were so utterly alone.
Your parents seemed to have arranged to give you the silent treatment – the rumours had reached them too, of course; in a town as small as Hawkins, things like these didn't stay under the rug for too long.
Your "friends" or the people you considered to be such ignored you. Didn't talk to you in classes, skipped you in the hallway and avoided all eye contact. You felt embarrassed for them, but you weren't really surprised. Your locker had been painted over with what seemed to be red lipstick, and "Slut” covered the blue paint of the metal.
A few months ago, you would have lost your shit at this. But the new you barely cared. In fact, a slight smirk covered your face when you noticed it. If they viewed you as a slut, so be it; all you did was break out of a façade that wasn't really you anyways.
Lunch proved to be quite tricky. The table where you usually sat was filled with people that hated you. They spotted you as you stepped into the cafeteria, and Clarke hollered and cat-called you, earning some laughter from multiple tables. As you were used to standing in the spotlight, you barely cared what came your way. Although it was quite an awkward situation, you seemed like a helpless lamb when you spotted an empty table where you sat down and ate Lunch alone.
Even though unusual and something you weren't used to, you appreciated not having to talk to anyone. Half of the Lunch period you spent alone, wondering why you had ever been so scared of losing what seemed to be everything to you. Who even cared for popularity? It had never brought you distinct joy. As the Jocks disbanded out of the cafeteria, you observed Jason leading them away.
Suddenly, a loud sound crashed beside you, and your eyes enlarged when you discovered that the Hellfire Club had gathered around your table, sitting down one by one.
"Wha-", you started, unsure how to react.
"Welcome to the club, fellow Freak" Gareth grinned at you as he sat down opposite you.
"You really don't have to do this", you mumbled as Dustin, Mike, David, Jeff, and even Lucas took their seats around you.
"Do what? Eat Lunch? I'm sorry, but I love Lunch", Dustin mumbled as he bit rather grossly into his food, crumbs falling down the corners of his mouth.
You chuckled at this, shaking your head in the process. It was more than you deserved. But somehow, they were the ones who treated you the same. It was insanity. The group went on usually talking, not specifically paying you much attention, and you appreciated just being able to listen. When the Lunch period ended, you gathered all your courage.
"Do you know…uhm…how…is he…?", you stuttered awkwardly.
"He's alright. Wayne took him to the doctor with a bunch of bruises and a broken nose, but he'll be alright. He's seen worse. Though the sucker was able to get the doctor to excuse him from school for a week. Lucky fellow, maybe I'll get Basketboy to beat me up too, whaddya say?" Jeff responded, bobbing his head, smiling, seemingly entertained at the question.
You blushed in embarrassment, staring down at your empty tray. When Lunch was disassembled, and everyone got up and was on their way, Lucas stopped by your side, clearing his throat rather awkwardly.
"I think you did the right thing. Going for who you love, you know? It's honestly inspiring, and… Jason can go fuck himself; I always hated his attitude… don't tell him I told you that, though, I'd still very much like to play Basketball…" he mumbled, stroking the back of his neck.
You smiled at him, thankfully.
"Don't worry, I didn't plan on talking to him any time soon anyways."
The period you dreaded the absolute most was Cheer practice. You had no idea what would happen, considering everyone had completely abandoned you and put themselves on Jason's side. But you were the Cheer captain after all. And no matter what, you would not let Jason take that away from you. When you walked into the gymnasium, all eyes were on you.
Just as you were about to gather all of them around you, the squad ganged up on you, one of them slowly approaching.
"What is it?" you asked, biting down the urge to roll your eyes. The girl was visibly uncomfortable, and you might have felt bad for her in any other situation. But not in this one; you had a feeling you knew what was about to happen.
"Uhm…well…a lot of the girls feel… well… like you're not really suitable as a captain anymore", she almost whispered, staring down onto the floor, fidgeting with the skirt of her uniform.
"You're kidding", you scoffed, lifting your eyebrows, crossing your arms in front of your chest.
"Well… they feel like the squad hasn't done anything new or good since you've become Captain, you know… just sitting around and stuff", she explained, her eyes now glancing with a hint of annoyance.
"Sitting around? You mean when we were planning the Halloween Party?"
"Look. The whole squad voted. Chelsea's the new Captain now."
"You can't do that", you huffed, your heart aching at the idea of losing what you loved so much. Cheering was the one thing you genuinely enjoyed that wasn't part of your façade.
"It's been decided."
"I'm not going anywhere. You can't afford to lose me; I've been pulling this team for years", you responded, oddly surprised at the confident tone you were sharing.
You understood that they couldn't kick you off the team, and a smile covered your face when her eyes widened. She clearly had expected you to drop everything, maybe due to embarrassment, but you couldn't care less. You had nothing to lose, so you might as well keep enjoying the things you loved doing. People were going to talk anyways, so why not give them something to talk about?
As much as your squad seemed to have turned on you, they still needed you in their team. Even though you didn't have the lead anymore, you were still one of the most essential athletes on the team with all the turns and spins you could do.
It put a smile on your face seeing how helpless the new Cheer captain seemed, but you didn't let it show. In fact, you went off in your moves, stunning everyone around you. This newfound confidence was definitely something you could get used to.
But when practice ended, the negative feelings came back. The guilt you felt was consuming you, but the fear of seeing the consequences of what you had done was even more immense. So, you didn't visit Eddie, not even the day after. And the day later, you found another excuse to not see him again.
When you burst into your room on Friday, throwing yourself on the bed, you curled yourself into a ball, and before you knew what was happening, tears were streaming down your face. The guilt you felt consumed you, hauling you out of everything around you. Your breath hitched, your heart raced, and you felt sick to your stomach.
With quivering hands, you reached out to the bedside table and opened up the drawer dragging out your yellow Walkman. You didn't know what tape was inside, but you rewind it without hesitating and pressed play.
"We both lie silently still, in the dead of the night…."
The song began playing, and instantly, your breathing steadied itself. It was like magic, really. But as you began focusing more on the lyrics, the tears only kept dropping.
"Although we both lie close together, we feel miles apart inside…»
As the music played and your tears maintained streaming, you gaped around your room, your gaze attaching to a pink spot on the floor you recognized as the Hellfire Club Shirt Eddie had gifted you.
"Was it something I said or something I did, did the words not come out right…"
Everywhere your eyes fell, you could see him there, sitting on the stool with his eyeliner on. By the window, creeping in, a giant grin on his face. On your bed, his skin flushed. His scent encaptured your skin, and you could swear he was right here, by your side.
"Though I tried not to hurt you, though I tried…"
You were having flashbacks to that day in the library, his stupid smirk, to that party where he was the one that had calmed you down and that you had known then and there that he was special.
"But I guess that's why they say every rose has its thorn just like every night has its dawn…."
Suddenly, with the music still playing in your ears, you sprang up. You understood what you had to do. Seizing a random sweatshirt dangling on your chair, you chucked it on and raced downstairs, not caring if your parents heard.
"Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song, every rose has its thorn, yeah it does…"
Your parents did, in fact, hear and your mom even broke the silent treatment when you grasped the car keys, escaping her clutch, running to your car, her screams fading silently through the earphones.
In fact, your thoughts were back with Eddie at the Hellfire Club, how he had defended you from his friends and driven you home in the end.
"I listen to our favorite song, playing on the radio…"
When you started the car engine, the song still playing in your ear, you could still hear the echoes of your mother screaming at you from the garage. But you didn't care. You racked out of the driveway, nearly crashing into your post box. You saw Eddie now at the concert he invited you to, playing your song.
"Hear the DJ say loves a game of easy come and easy go…"
You don't think you had ever driven faster. Not even the raindrops falling out of the sky in an irregular pattern brought you out of focus.
"But I wonder does he know, has he ever felt like this…"
When the pattern of raindrops faded into one of heavy, constant rain, your memories faded to yours and Eddie's first kiss underneath the stands at the Basketball game. It sensed ages ago, yet so familiar. You could almost feel him leaning in again, placing his lips on yours.
"And I know that you'd be here right now, if I could have let you know somehow…"
The first time you slowly returned to yourself was when you drove into the trailer park. The ground underneath you was so muddy now that at any other time, you'd fear that you'd be stuck. But you didn't care. The rain was plunging down so heavily now it was hard to see.
"I guess every rose has its thorn just like every night has its dawn just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song every rose has its thorn…"
Your car indeed got stuck in the mud. After several tries of revving it up, you decided to stop. Screw it. With the headphones still plugged in, the hood pulled over your head, and the Walkman in your sweater pocket, you jumped out into the pouring rain.
"Though it's been a while now I can still feel so much pain like a knife that cuts you the wound heals but the scar, that scar remains…"
It was a few seconds until you arrived at Eddie's trailer. The mud stuck onto your jeans, your shoes drenched brown. Your heart jumped when you spotted him. He was standing outside, under a tent he had built over the front of his van; the hood popped up, him leaning over, fixing something inside the car. His hair was tied back, and grease covered his arms and even his cheek. The bruises were still clearly visible. He hadn't spotted you yet.
"I know I could have saved our love that night, if I'd known what to say…"
"Eddie!" you screamed through the sound of the music. You didn't even know how loud you truly had been, but the headphones were so engrained into you that you didn't even think of pulling them off, no matter how silly it seemed.
"Instead of makin' love we both made our separate ways…"
Eddie moved his body up, and his eyes widened in shock when he spotted you. You were drenched, head to toe. Your eyes started tearing up again when you noticed how much you had truly missed him. And how much you had hurt him. This was the first time you put your headphones off since entering your room back at home. The music kept playing.
"Eddie, I'm sorry. It's all my fault. But I meant what I said, okay? I want to be with you. Fully. Openly. Really" you shouted. The tears connected with the rain.
"You don't have to forgive me, but I need you to know, Eddie. I need you to know that… I love you. I think I have from the very first moment you made me laugh. And even if you don't want me, our relationship or whatever this is anymore, I just wanted to thank you, okay? You showed me how great life really can be and that I don't need to hide. I can be me. Truly me."
Your voice broke in the last sentence. You couldn't read Eddie's expression through your tears, but you continued.
"So, thank you, Eddie. Really. Thank you."
Before you knew what was happening, Eddie dropped his tools. He sprinted over to you, almost tripping over the slippery mud through the rain, grabbing your head with both hands and kissing you so profoundly, so personally, so strong you felt like the world around you had just collapsed. The rain was drenching you both completely, and the soft music was barely hearable through the noise of the rain hitting the ground.
The kiss lasted forever; you didn't want to let go. It felt as if you were breathing again for the first time in ages; you pulled him closer, into you, needed to touch him, his curls, his body, needed to smell his scent, his cigarette scent-covered clothes. You needed him, all of him. He was like the air after a long dive, breaking through the surface.
When you ultimately ceased kissing, you gazed up at him, tears still streaming down your cheek. You had missed seeing his face up so close, even though it was still covered in bruises, and his nose was patched up with a big bandage.
"Like my new look?" he grinned, and your heart nearly dropped at the familiar ease in his voice.
"I'd rather not get used to it", you chuckled back through slight sobs, your head falling down, staring onto the floor.
Eddie moved his hand underneath your chin, slightly pulling you up, so you had to look at him.
"I love you too," he whispered, his smile breaking into one holding back tears. You had never seen him so vulnerable before, so all you could think of doing was wrapping your arms around him and hugging him tightly, digging your face into his chest.
You couldn't hold back your sobs anymore, so you full-on started weeping into his shirt. It was a mixture of so many emotions; pain, relief, guilt, love, everything. Eddie, too, was wrapping his arms around you, putting his chin onto your head, kissing the top of it softly.
You didn't know, but he was crying too. He cried out of happiness and pain because he hadn't expected you to return for him. Hadn't expected he'd be worth it. He also hadn't known how he would react. But as soon as he saw you, he knew. Knew he couldn't and didn't want to live in a world where you weren't around him.
"You know you better get used to seeing my face like this since you'll be my popular girlfriend", he smiled when he pulled you away softly, staring directly into your eyes.
"Stop it", you responded, a slight chuckle leaving your mouth, "besides, I don't think that word applies to me anymore anyways."
"Oh yeah? And which one does?" he asked curiously, his curls sticking onto his face now too.
"Freak", you responded, smiling up at him. And that smile could have convinced Eddie to do so many things. It was eternal, honestly unlike anything else from this world. It all felt like a dream; you truly fully appreciating yourself, allowing him to be a part of it all.
"With those things, I understand why people call you a Freak", he responded, pointing to your headphones.
"Rude!" you responded, hitting him onto his arm slightly. He winced at this, and you instantly regretted the notion, understanding that he was probably still in a lot of pain. Eddie ignored your facial expression, full of horror.
"I mean, horrible taste in music such as Poison is not to be forgiven", he grinned, slightly rubbing his arm.
"How do you know it's Poison then if you hate the music so much?" you responded, raising your eyebrows.
Eddie's eyes widened, and his bottom lip pulled forward.
"Fair point, knightess", he responded, grinning, "want to explain it to me inside? Of course, I mean only if you want to; I love standing outside in the heavy rain discussing horrible music with my girlfriend."
He couldn't seem to be getting enough of the word. His girlfriend. As you stepped inside the warm trailer, you noticed how completely drenched the two of you were, dripping onto the floor. Instantly, you both went into the bathroom.
Eddie took off his shirt and helped you out of your clothes, too, kissing your neck softly as he did. You whined at the contact. Your body had missed him, his soft touch, his warm hands, his breath, everything. His hand explored your body as if they had never left. He knew every curve, every layer, everything. When the two of you stood naked in front of each other, he kissed you again so softly, but desperately you thought you'd melt away right then and there.
As you stepped into the small shower, he pressed you against the wall softly, the warm water rushing over both of you, emulating the rain outside. His tongue explored your mouth like he had never tasted you before. His hands were squeezing your ass and kneading your breasts faintly, and it felt like electricity was shooting through his hands into you as you moaned into the hot air.
"I missed you so much", he groaned when he had turned you around quietly, your back pressing against his chest, ass against his hard cock. You wanted to respond, but when Eddie towed back to grip his length and push it against you softly, all you could do was moan.
"Looks like you missed me too", he smiled as he rubbed his tip against your drenched entrance and pushed in, slowly, passionately, in an incredibly vulnerable way.
When you felt him inside of you, you nearly came right then and there. You had missed him so much, the vulnerability, the closeness. It was all too much but so so familiar and so so right.
"Tell me again", he moaned feebly as he began moving.
"I love you", you whispered through his soft but deep thrusts.
He had never seemed deeper inside of you than at that very moment. If this was factual evidence or because of the vulnerability of the moment, you didn't know but hardly cared.
Eddie groaned when he attended to the words and resumed the slow but regular rhythm, his hand pushing towards your clit and stroking it softly. Your whines covered the shower completely, the hot, humid air surrounding you both.
His other hand proceeded over your breast and chest to your throat as he squeezed it slightly, possessively but never in a way that hurt. Eddie sped up his movements, and the way the two of you connected felt otherworldly.
It sensed like everything had led up to this moment, to the two of you genuinely opening up to the vulnerability and entrapping everything that love meant in a way that didn't require words.
You were genuinely making love. It was different from the other times, slower but never less intense. In fact, it was so intense that you could barely stay focused when you approached your orgasm.
Eddie's hand movements sped up, and when he felt you clenching around his cock, he thrust harder to send you ultimately over the edge. When you came, you had to grasp onto the wall, your entire body trembling, your vision going white.
The love you felt was too much; it was all you ever desired, and never in your whole life had you been happier. When Eddie, too, came inside you with a soft groan, you began crying again. But not due to anything terrible but at how happy you were. Eddie, too, had tears in his eyes. It was unlike anything either of you had ever experienced before.
You dwelled in this position for a while, relishing how emotionally and physically connected the two of you were. Not ever wanting to move, wishing you could remain like this forever.
As your soft breaths and pantings filled the tiny, humid room, you realized that if Eddie was able to forgive you and love you even after what you did, maybe somewhere in the future, you'd be able to do so too.
