i think ur cards are so useful and pretty , your new style is so adorable as well. What i love most about your cards is that you include both hiragana and its kanji :)
thank you so much! :D i think it’s important to include both, especially the kanji since that’s what a lot of new learners struggle with!

I just wanna address the fact that I do not own the concept of flashcards or anything! It’s a very common way to study, and I encourage you to make your own, regardless of what you’re studying :] You don’t have to ask me for permission to make your own, please do!
However, again, please do not use my artwork and claim it as your own - though, I do not mind you using my art for personal use, like printing it out or changing the language and saving it to your own computer! Just don’t post it if you do that, thank you! :D
hello!! i love your blog a lot and it inspires me to have my own take at something similar. would it be ok for me to make cute flash cards but for my korean studies?? i don't want to accidentally take your idea if it would bother you ^^;
Go ahead as long as you’re not using my art! ♡
I love that your blog incorporates visuals. I have trouble with the vocabulary list style posts because of my learning disability. I can never focus on them, so blogs like this are perfect for me.
THANK YOU! I have a learning disability as well, so like… you can definitely see why I even made this blog in the first place.
I may be able to offer the one anon a little advice on learning more than one language at a time, if that’s okay? • I’d personally do no more than two at a time •Don’t study both back to back! Do them at separate times of day. I do one language in the morning and Japanese in the afternoon •Don’t choose two languages that are super similar. You will get confused. You were def right about that. That’s what I thought of off my head that could help. There are posts about this topic too I think???
^If anyone else has advice, feel free to reply to this :D
Hey! Do u have any tips on picking a language and sticking with it? It’s so hard for me and idk how to choose or stick with it bc executive dysfunction is :( blah.. and do u have any tips on learning multiple languages at a time? Do u suggest leading 2+ at once?
OK SO I also have executive dysfunction, because I have ADD, which obviously makes learning things Very Difficult(tm) BUT the way I chose, was by picking which language means the most to me. For example, for a while I really wanted to learn Swedish, but in the end, I decided Swedish wasn’t actually something I could see myself using someday in real life. I also don’t consume a lot of Swedish media, so learning Swedish would be mostly useless to me.
I don’t really have any tips for learning two languages at once, even though I am technically doing that. I think it helps that Indonesian and Japanese aren’t TOO similar to each other. That way, I don’t really mix them up when I learn new words, cause they often are very obvious to tell which word belongs to which. For example, I would never mistake the word “merah” for a Japanese word, since it just doesn’t follow the same structure as Japanese words.
I don’t suggest learning 2+ at once. I was learning Japanese before I was learning Indonesian, and they’re both very fun to learn, but I think it’s much easier to focus on a language when you are only learning one at a time. Especially if you’re like me, and have problems with managing your time. For people with learning disorders like myself, you’ll probably feel too overwhelmed by overloading yourself with two languages and may just give up on learning them altogether.
Alternatively, if you have gotten very far along in your studies and are very good at speaking one of those languages, then I think it would be fine to pick up another language if you wanted to.
How can I convince myself to learn kanji. Its so easy to just ignore it in duolingo and I'm lazy. :/ help i need to motivate myself
omg I’m so sorry cause you’re literally LOOKING AT the way I convinced myself to learn kanji. This blog was Made to help myself learn kanji... so if you want to, just do what I did! Make kanji FUN by drawing little flashcards of your own!
Also, look through an article or Japanese lyrics for kanji you don’t recognize and look up the meaning and write them down! That’s how I tend to get some of my more interesting vocabulary cards. It kinda motivates me cause it’s words that I personally will find interesting as opposed to words duolingo is forcing me to learn, which can get monotonous since each lesson goes by a theme!
Another thing I’ve been meaning to do (but haven’t yet) is make a personal Discord server where I store interesting vocabulary. I haven’t done this with Japanese yet for some reason (aka I’m lazy) BUT I’ve done it with Indonesian so here’s a peek at what that server looks like. It just helps me feel organized and it’s easy to get to since I use Discord all the time.
Hi there! As someone who is very interested in learning and has been attempting to learn Japanese, I just want to ask- what have you found to be the most useful way? I’ve managed to pick up some phrases from YouTube videos and such, but the alphabet and reading kanji are way beyond me still! 😓 Thanks and I hope you’re having a good day!!
I think this is too broad of a question, I’m sorry! I don’t know if you’re asking about learning a specific area of Japanese or not, so I’m not really sure what to say since a combination of things help with various other things ^__^;; Like if you’re having trouble with kanji or hiragana or just remembering words, there’s different advice to give for each thing!
That said, if any of my followers have any general advice for learning Japanese, feel free to add it as a reply below! :D
I now have a #resources tag!!! So if I reblog something that is useful about learning Japanese, you can find it in there!

complimenting japanese artists
There are plenty of templates for asking permission from Japanese artists on pixiv and twitter to repost their fanworks, but almost none about how to compliment their art and let them know their work is appreciated, so I thought I’d put together a few stock phrases you can use to let an artist know you think their work is great!!
ああああ = “aaaaaaa/ahhhhh” (use as many あ as u feel like ahaha)
_____さんの絵が大好きです! = “i love your art!” (use artist’s name in blank, usually in only japanese characters, for example ▲むっこ▲スパコミ レ57b on twitter’s name is just むっこ, ignore anything after an “@”)
_____は可愛すぎますよ~! = “____ is too cute~!” (insert ship or character name, you can get their name in japanese on their wiki pages or myanimelist, check their pixiv to see what their art is tagged with to find the ship’s name in japanese if you don’t already know it, or you can replace with (artist name)さんの絵 to say the artist’s art is too cute)
(きれいな/可愛い/素晴らしい)絵をいつも描いてくれてありがとうございます! = “thank you for always drawing pretty/cute/amazing art!” (pick ONE adjective)
_____さんの絵は凄く(可愛い/かっこいい/素晴らしい)ですねえ!= “your art is REALLY cute/cool/amazing!” (pick ONE adjective)
_____さんの絵最高です!/____最高です!= “your art is the best!” / “(character/ship) is the best!”
feel free to use as many exclamation points, hearts ♡♡♡, and kaomoji as you feel like in between sentences!
also for sentence enders, i just included a few random ones but feel free to exchange よ/ねえ as much as you like, but it’s kinda weird to use them at the end of every sentence. its also weird if you use the same one at the end all your sentences. also just a generic “~" at the end is good too!
if you have any questions on how to say something else, or if you think there’s an important phrase i missed, or you kinda want to know what the artist said in reply to your compliment, let me know!
[edit]: thanks to toukochu for pointing out it should be 描いてくれてありがとうございます instead of 描いてありがとうございます and that the は particle was unnecessary for 最高です!
Reblogging these for those who will like to send compliments to Japanese artist.
