Utah BEARs the weight of if we wait for tech progress
The article highlights the reason investments in public structures requires public feedback before the investment is considered.
Kevin O Leary and Utah Senate president Adams have taken a step down from their project Stratos due to pushback raised by the organization Box Elder Accountability Referendum. (BEAR). BEAR believes this is performance in reaction to the public's reaction, and highlights that Kevin is only apologizing for people's reaction and not the actual planning of this project. 15B dollars invested with the hopes that this investment and development of data centers in the region would employee thousands of the 66K people in this county. Despite the good that can be found in his reason that would benefit the investors and employees from those investments made, BEAR raises the concern of environmental impact. Even with the changes made recently in this project, moving the project away from the Waterflow management Area, it would not preserve the bird refuge in the migratory flyways.
The facts in this case does show a difference between intent and impression. BEAR was forced into hibernation until the project already was planned out when they should have been involved as representatives of the impacted. Impression may be considered not in our hands when framing against the Dichotomy of control. But if it is guaranteed you will impact the public with your actions, we should wait in relation to the weight of impression post intent acted on.
Data Centers will be needed as AI development ramps up and is used in more sectors. The focus we can take from both parties is intent for a better future to be built on our history, and our future is ours to decide how the present invests in it.
