That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 81

I wish there was more time available for this be expanded on, but I did like the little bits we had of seeing Rimuru's group and the research group integrating in such a friendly way.

Gobta sitting together with them to have food, them readily accepting drinks from Shion and them pestering Rimuru for details about his analysis of the spells. All with no fear of them at all. Even when things became dangerous, they obeyed Rimuru's orders without question. Which showed how they completely trust him and his team to protect them.

I hope that the research group all survive. It will be a expected tactic for them to be targeted in order to put Rimuru on the defensive immediately.

Oh poor Milim. Even though they were already waiting for someone to attack, it went from her having a fun, playful time exploring with her bestie, to some of her darkest and most painful memories being dredged up and zombified in front of her. The chaos dragon design is terrifying.

This is true of the manga, but I love how the anime accentuates the absolute physical trust the apprentices have with Qifrey. Specifically with Agott, the way she is so ready when Qifrey says “hang on tight, I need my hands free” to cling to him a mile into the sky, and then in the latest episode, how, as soon as she impacts Qifrey while flying to him, she makes no move to save herself, she just curls into him and trusts that he will keep them from falling.

And I think it works as a signal to the audience, to subtly go “hey, I know we don’t trust Qifrey right now, he’s being shady, but we can always trust him to protect the physical wellbeing of his kids. Remember that.” Idk man maybe I’m getting too attached to a teeny detail but aaaaaaghhhh that’s her dad.

Ahh, we still don't know who Satsuki is as a writer. They seem to have settled on the idea of him being a horror writer, but he hasn't explicitly confirmed that yet. I'm glad that his friends told him how weird it was for him not to be sharing such things with his girlfriend. I do think that it's super sweet that Rinko is trying to overcome her fear of horror for him.

Witch Hat Atelier episode 10

I don't know if this is ever expanded upon, but I've noticed several times that non-witches are very demanding of and entitled about the skills of witches. I understand being desperate in extreme circumstances and expecting someone who can apparently do anything be available to help, but I feel like that line is crossed and they forget that witches are people not tools they can point at their problems to get them solved. It's an interesting dynamic.

Witch Hat Atelier episode 10

Such a beautiful sweet episode. Focussing primarily on Coco and Tartah brought the tone back to a sense of innocence and the joys of learning and creation. This is especially important for these two who are having to adapt what they learn to fit their circumstances. It was also great to touch more on the versatility of the excellent magic system. I'll love to see more of Coco and Tartah together going forward.

I see you trying to get us to like Julius but a lot more work needs to be done for that to happen. Really, it's fine for him to work with Will out of mutual self-interest. Maybe working together can be a building block towards their friendship, but they don't need to be buddies right now.

Asmodeus' instincts and training kicking in and him trying to attack Kiriwo was a great moment. He really went for the kill upon realising that Kiriwo is a real threat to Iruma. It'll be interesting to see how he handles what he has learned.

The weight of history behind what Rosei, Hinagiku and Sakura each said to Rindo was palpable. I think that's also a factor in why their words were so effective in bringing him back from the brink of complete despair.
