1. when he got freed during Impel Down, the first thing that he did (technically not the first but) was to change his prisoner clothes.

2. when Dofflamingo ask him to join hands he refuse because "we are not equal, you should serve me"

3. when Whitebeard got stabbed, he got angry (like bro are you part of his crew??)

4. when Ace almost got executed, he killed the executioners (mainly because of his pettiness, he does not want the Marines to win)
