VIDEO ALTAR at Recondite Principle

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of assisting fellow Los Angeles filmmakers Anthony Ramon Maldonado and Jamal Sharaf El Deen with their VIDEO ALTAR: Santa Muerte installation at the Recondite Principle group show at Lethal Amounts Gallery in Westlake. The installation featured a physical altar, created by Maldonado, to Santisima Muerte or Saint Death. The video monitors looped an art film about the religion, created by Maldonado and Sharaf El Deen. It was a truly captivating and beautiful sight to behold. Performance artist Madison Knapp sat beside the altar protecting it’s contents throughout the course of the evening. I look forward to featuring VIDEO ALTAR in the near future, and sharing the full-length film with our readers.
