Hi yes hello I have emerged from the abyss to finally participate in Spooktober! This one is for Day 7: Urban Legends Be mindful of the tags, yo.
Title: Waiting for the Splash
Rating: T
Pairing: Amanene
Content warnings: suicide, descriptions of corpses
Summary: Yugi Amane wasn’t afraid when his friends dared him to go looking for the Woman in White, a rumored ghost cursed to jump off an abandoned bridge to her death night after night. He didn’t believe in ghosts, after all. When he saw the woman fall - when he kept seeing the woman fall - he learned better. But that didn’t stop him from going back again and again, hoping each time that tonight would be the night he’d convince her not to jump.

Day 7: Villain/Urban Legend
I mean, yeah, obviously the I was going to write SOMETHING to do with the twins. AoiNene and Yugi Twins content are what I want to be known for. Please do not hesistate to come to me for all your AoiNene and Yugi Twins-related needs.
Spooooooooky~ Warnings for violence against Mokke but, hilariously, it’s not much worse than what literally just happened to one in that most recent After School Hanako-kun Chapter.
“Did you hear? There are two wish-granting ghosts at this school!”
“The first one is Hanako-san, right? She’s very scary, and sometimes very cruel. But the truth is that Hanako-san is also quite lonely.”
“The other…is just scary and cruel. That other ghost is…”
–
“Tsukasa.”
Tsukasa perked up, eyes bright and squeezing the mokke in his hands until they were crushed into pulpy bits. He smiled so widely, showing off his teeth and mouth open wide.
Tsukasa was…a sick mixture of childish and monstrous. He had been aware of that for a while, even if he hadn’t wanted to accept that reality.
“Amane!”
He hadn’t wanted to accept it, but Tsukasa latches onto him all the same, smearing pink all over his face.
“Amane,” Tsukasa still says so reverently. “You never call out to me first! Never! Wah!” He’s so happy it’s sickening. “Amane, it’s been so looooong!”
Honorable Seventh scowls back, but Tsukasa is a star that won’t dim. Either a star or, more aptly…
I’m getting sidetracked.
“I just want to know.” Hanako reaches up and rather than patting Tsukasa’s face in return, he wipes off his own. His nose wrinkles, but the remains are scentless. Ghosts typically can’t get sick, especially not from this. “Will you talk to me?”
“I’ll talk to you about anything, Amane!” Tsukasa chirps. “All things, Amane! All Amane things!”
Honorable Seventh should grip this nuisance by the collar. Shake him until he submits. Honorable Seventh should threaten this pest with his knife. Honorable Seventh should put this monster down lest it hurt another creature.
Lest it hurt Yashiro.
“Amane, Amane,” Tsukasa pats his cheek again. “Are you getting distracted again?”
Amane is immediately horrified that he ever thought such things about his little brother.
Hanako shakes his head firmly.
“I just…” His teeth grit. Rather annoyingly, it’s an effort to force the words out. It’s like Amane is holding him back. “I want to know why you’re doing this.”
“Can’t tell you.” Tsukasa pulls back. “Sorry, Amane! That’s something I absolutely caaaaaaan’t tell you!”
Honorable Seventh should—
“Why the hell not?” Hanako demands, hands curling into tight fists. “Seriously, Tsukasa, if this is another game…!”
“It’s not! It’s…!” Tsukasa waves his hands. He pauses. He seems to think about it, tapping his chin thoughtfully. “It’s like…the villain’s plans tend to fail because he tells the hero all about it for no reason, right?”
…what?
“I…” Tsukasa’s words almost put him at a complete loss. “I’m…not a hero…”
“But we are enemies!” Tsukasa exclaims so passionately. “So, I can’t tell you! Even if you’re Amane! Sorry, Amane!” He does such a clumsy, pitiful attempt at a bow. “Sorry, sorry!”
It’s so—
Adorable.
Annoying.
“Tsukasa, I…”
Hanako-san is scary. Hanako-san is cruel. Hanako-san is ruthless.
Hanako-san is also very lonely.
“I don’t want to have to hurt you again,” he confesses oh so quietly. “But I might have to if you get in my way. I wish things didn’t have to be like this.”
“You don’t mean that from your heart, Amane,” Tsukasa replies. Cheerful as always. Grinning at him so widely and cruelly. “I can’t grant that wish.”
Just like that.
“I can’t wait to see the face you’ll make, Amane! I hope it’s even better than the one you made when you killed me!”
Just like that.
Hanako lurched toward him, but Tsukasa pulled back. Out of reach. Oh so bright. Unforgiving.
“But not now,” Tsukasa was saying. “I still have stuff here I need to do.”
Like stars at dawn, Tsukasa is gone.

There past the bushes, a cigarette in his hand and a body at his feet, is a man. He’s young: maybe early or mid-twenties, with a sharp, boyish face and a shock of black hair. Draped in brambles and nighttime, he’s like an old painting or low-quality photograph, vivid and indiscernible all at once, smudged out into nothing in the corners.
And he’s looking at her.

As her vision settled, she could see the amused smile of the dumb phantom thief, to which her own smile plummeted and twisted into a scowl.

Day 5: Spiders-Spell books
Genre: Spooky, Spiders
"No one liked spiders. Heck! Who even would anyways? They are tiny and yet big! "
―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
The clock struck 8:30 P.M. Everyone was asleep. No one was left awake. But him. His eyelids opened as he looked to see if his brother was sleeping.
He looked at the ground and fond white spiders crawling out of his room. As if they were waiting for him. Checking under his pillow, was a key as the shape of a spider, and a flashlight. He jumped out of bed to go chase those little critters.
Tsukasa walked down the hallways of his home. Taking a left, then a right, and he made his way into the room that was always locked. He found the key just three hours ago and ever since then he couldn't stop thinking about the door!
He placed it in and unlocked it slowly. The door creaked with the pressure added as he pocked his head out of the door way.
Tsukasa turned his flashlight on and staged it on whatever. Books. A whole lot of them.
He went inside closing the door shut. He smiled at the amazement of books he seen from the left and to the right. Scattering across the room were the same white arachnids he seen.
All of them crawling over to one specific place. The bugs always showed him the secrets around this house. But one of them never sat right. This one was different.
He walked all over this secret library as the whispers he had heard grew louder at every second.
"Closer... not too far.... come here.... TSUKASA" With each herling screamed he obeyed. He was curious of course and wondered what they had wanted to tell him.
Then he saw it. The book before him. You smiled brightly seeing the bugs rest there. He climbed the church stand the ones he saw at church.
Eyes. He felt eyes all over him. One by one looking directly at his back.
"Open it... READ IT... DONT RESIST..." Secrets and secrets he never seen to be able to miss. He wanted to know. Everything that this house held for him. He won't resist. He will find out.

JSHK Spooktober Ficlets #6
For @jshkspooktober
Day 6: Grim Reaper/Sacrifice
Yeah I literally couldn’t come up with anything except a short ficlet centered on Sumire and No. 6. I think I just…really miss Sumire.
Today, the guy she loved was looking over her silently as always. She would smile sweetly at him, would laugh and wave, and his expression wouldn’t change one bit. She’d turn back, humming a cheerful little tune as she mulled over which of the flowers she should pick.
There’s a process to it. Making sure she doesn’t break the stems off too short but also taking care to not pull out the roots. She should feel bad for cutting the lives of these flowers short for her own amusement… But, she doesn’t really care.
They were going to die anyway.
And it’s not like flowers had mouths to scream with. If anything, she’s being kinder and more considerate than anyone else from her village would be.
“Aren’t they much prettier when they’re picked anyway?” Sumire asks cheekily.
As expected, she doesn’t receive a response.
Her smile doesn’t falter.
“I think it’s just a waste to grow in the ground only to either wilt or get trampled on,” she continues. “It’s just such a pointless existence. At least when they’re picked, you can give them to someone you care for. In a way, the flower is finding use even if it’s suddenly much closer to death. It’s like…an exchange.”
She entwines the stems. Round and round, until the shape closes in the form of a circle.
“More like a sacrifice,” she corrects herself. Sumire gets to her feet. Her beloved meets her gaze coldly, and it sends pleasant shivers up her spine. He remains still as she strides towards him. There’s only one issue.
He’s much taller than she is. She can’t put the flower crown on like this.
“It’s for you,” she says, offering it pitifully instead.
He regards the crown. He seems unimpressed.
“I know it’s not like offering lives, but you should still accept gifts graciously,” she huffs. “Can’t you wear it?”
“It will just wither away,” he points out in such a dry, dead tone. The flowers wouldn’t lighten that up at all. She knows this.
Sumire still jumps and manages to toss it onto him. It lands askew on his own crown, tilted and not quite right, but she smiled broadly at this accomplishment.
“A symbol of my love,” she declares, spinning on her heel. “I sacrifice these to your altar, so cherish them as they wither away!” She can’t help but giggle. “We’re just like newlyweds, aren’t we?”
Silence meets her back. He offers nothing in return besides his stare. It’s fine. Perfectly fine.
That expression of his isn’t going to change even when she dies, but at least he’ll never stop looking at her until then.
