Kids Today vs. Kids in 1982
An interesting infographic (this is an excerpt, full version is here) for many reasons, including smoking, safe sex and graduation rate stats. But pay special attention to that ācareer aspirationsā section there.
Weāve got some work to do yet, science fans. The importance of STEM jobs in our economy is only growing. We canāt let a generation slip away.

Profiles in Courage: I forced myself to watch the 3-hour Eagles documentary in one sitting

Hate is not a word that I use lightly. Itās a strong word, one that should only be used when discussing the most vile and horrible things. For example, IĀ hate beans. All kinds. Theyāre gross and they stink. IĀ hateĀ beets. They taste like dirt and shame. And above all things, IĀ HATE THE EAGLES. The Eagles are gross, and they stink, and they sound like dirt and shame (probably taste like it, too).
But every once in a while, we must all do things that we donāt want to do. If my grandmother makes beans with dinner, Iāll choke down a forkful so as not to be rude. I went to a fancy dinner once and was served golden beets with one of the courses. I took a bite, thought, āYes, these are exactly as awful as I remember,ā but ate the rest of the course. And because all artists must suffer for their art, I decided to subject myself to an unspeakable horror: I forced myself to watch the 186-minute History of the EaglesĀ documentary in one sitting, and just for the sole purpose of being able to make fun of it later.
