Ashlyn is raising money to help Royal School for the Blind

Today, June 15th, is Brian Jacques’ birthday!!!
In honor of him, I’m running a fundraiser for the Royal School for the Blind in Liverpool. This is the third year that I’ve run this fundraiser, and every year it’s been good!
Why a fundraiser?
I thought it’d be nice to give back to Mr. Jacques’s community. I selected the Royal School for the Blind, as he wrote the first Redwall book for the kids at that school. It’s also located in Liverpool, Mr. Jacques’ hometown, which he loved dearly.
In addition to the fundraiser, I’ll be running weekly activities for a month, to celebrate as a community and do some fun stuff. Events will be announced every friday!

Brian Jacques was very influential in my development as an avid reader, and today would have been his 79th birthday. Fans of his work are raising money in his honor for the Royal School for the Blind in Liverpool in the UK. Jacques considered the students there his friends, and he wrote the first Redwall book for them. If Mr. Jacques also inspired you, please consider sending something in his honor to the school in celebration of his life and authorship.
