You see, recovery is full of surprises. Some days you feel on top of the world, other days you feel small and ignored. But recovery is always there for you, it never stops being there for you.
Ayanna Bates (behind-the-mental-illness)
"The words you call me are just words. That's not who I really am. That's not what I'll ever be."
So sad :-(
Open your eyes to the greatness inside you! YOU can do this! Once you do, share that happiness and tell someone else, they can do it too!
(WBIR - ROANE COUNTY) As awareness of bullying, hazing and cyber-bullying continues to grow, one local school district is setting an example in the prevention of that kind of behavior.
Now this is what I’m talking about!
More Than A Memory
I still remember the rapid beating of my heart pounding in my chest, my tear soaked fingers as I franticly wipe my tears away, the humiliation of having dozens of eyes trained on me as a small selective few pointed fingers at my so-called “flaws”:
My big eyes and crooked teeth,
The “Jewish bun” on my head and the size of my feet.
Those ridiculous things that now I see as the difference between you and me.
Being left out was a normal part of my day
Couldn’t mess up class order, couldn’t cause it no strain.
“You’re ugly! Go die! You’ve got an animal head”
“You’ll never amount to anything, no matter where you go next!”
Everyday. Like you’re least favorite song engraved in your brain
Till this day.
Their laughter still rings in my head
Whenever I fear of something knew, and I can’t get ahead.
It’s teasing, “just ignore them” they said.
Unfortunately, I started to believe instead.
They say bullying is a part of life
But they don’t realize the extent
That it has on the mind
And all the blood it can shed.
Let’s put a stop to this nonsense
So other’s will understand
That those life & confidence threatening actions
Can haunt a young life for years on end.
DID YOU KNOW?
--> Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year?
--> Approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying.
-->1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4% of the time.
-->Over 67% of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective.
-->71% of students report incidents of bullying as a problem at their school.
--> in 10 students drop out of school because of repeated bullying.

This Awesome
Money is being raised to help pay for the funeral expenses of a Franklin County girl who reportedly took her own life last week after being the victim of cyber-bullying.
I’m watching Fox News and they’re talking about bullying and why it’s a good thing. Saying that bullying builds character for the people being bullied and if we did something to stop that then kids wouldn’t push themselves to succeed in math and science. Yep…
Ridiculous...
« You have to change your mindset when it comes to people bullying you. Don’t give them the power to hurt you. […] At the end of the day, if there is a recipe — trust in yourself and concentrate on the good things in life, and don’t give them the power to overshadow your happiness. »
Just a little video about bullying and reminding you what you say matters and can have long lasting affects 😊
When someone bullies you, attacks you, manipulates you, makes you feel like shit etc. Don’t listen to the people that say, ‘You just need to ignore them’ or ‘you just need to [insert other bullshit advice]’.
This implies that you just need to do something to make the person stop. That by doing what you’re doing now is wrong. That it is somehow your fault.
It’s not your fault.
The burden should not fall on you. You’re not the one who needs to change their behavior.
