The orchid is the national flower of Colombia.
Here are more examples of different Colombian flowers, such as protea flower and bucket orchid.
Juan Valdez is one of the most successful Colombian brands that are popular in other countries.
Even though in their branding they are using the stereotypical Colombian farmer I really like the branding because theyve created a character and story of this man called “Juan Valdez” as used it as the brand.
Their graphic design and packaging is also well thought out and contemporary and modern while still keeping it authentic to its origins.
Colombian coffee and the brand Juan Valdez being used as a reference in the film Bruce Almighty.

Colombia has created a stamp to protect all products exported from the country to protect its authenticity and to give more credit to Colombia. I will be definitely using this on my products as my aim is to make sure the country get recognised.
Pre-colombino art.
Indigenous groups were very artistic and created many pieces such as gold ornaments and cotton pattern fabrics.
They used loads of patterns and these are some examples of the designs that could potentially influence my design style for my final out comes.
Quimbaya civilization.
Muiscas indigenous civilization.
Kogis are the current descendants of the Tairona civilisation. They are still very traditional and live by similar standards as the Tairona.

Tairona Culture.
Ive started my research by going back to the history of Colombia and how it became the country that it is today. The first civilisations in Colombia were conformed of different indigenous groups and communities. I will be looking at some of the most important ones just the get a better understanding of the heritage of the country.
The branding of this ‘brand/campaign’ is actually really nice and trendy compared to other ways Colombia has previously been advertised before with very old school cliche advertising.
Its got a simple catch phrase and also, it has created a series of logos representing different aspects of Colombia which is very effective and informative in a very simple but effective way.
©2013 COLOMBIA CO. Todos los derechos reservados. Todos los títulos y logos son propiedad de Marca país Colombia. | Términos legales
So an actual brand called Colombia was created to promote the country and decided to create a website full of information about most aspects of the country for people interested in knowing more about the country and what is got to offer. Not just tourism but information about art, the environment and culture.
Inspiration for packaging
Clear example of what deep dream can create
Deep dreaming:
DeepDream is a computer vision program created by Google which uses a convolutional neural network to find and enhance patterns in images via algorithmic pareidolia, thus creating a dreamlike hallucinogenic appearance in the deliberately over-processed images
As seen in the video it mostly creates animal shapes. This could be a cool way to edit our video to fit our animal concept
‘Desperados’ - Visuals inspiration - Miguel Vallinas
Miguel studies concepts behind metamorphosis, personifying animals by placing their heads on human bodies. He uses complementary and matching colours to make the image more fluid, which I feel successfully passes the direction of realism. This links to our project as we have taken a step back and feel it is more appropriate to stick with our first idea of animalising the brand which represents the concept of ‘releasing your inner tequila’.
