Eridians, on average, are 50 cm (19.7") tall. Adrian is a tall Eridian, they're huge! They're the equivalent of a 6'5" (195.5cm) human being!

Rocky, however, is shown in the movie to be closer to 80 cm (31.5"). This is astronomically large. This is the equivalent of an alien's first contact with humanity being a guy who's casually NINE FOOT ONE (280cm).

When they meet in person will rocky crush grace under his weight because hallucination rocky weighs nothing(I assume)? Or maybe rocky knows how not to. Does grace try to pick him up and throw his back out in the process?

Since Eridians can have multiple soulsongs and Rocky also has Adrian's soulsong, does that mean Erid knows about Grace & the ocean-ship-thrum's plans to build their own expedition? Has Rocky warned Grace about space sickness?

This is my rough timeline of events, (*not to scale).

Yes, Eridians can have more than one soulsong. The terms I am using so far are:

Soulsong - a person who understands you on a fundamental level. Chorus/Choir - a group of people/eridians who share a soulsong. Most commonly eridians find themself in a chorus of 3-6 members.

Sometimes a chorus has to be close, geographically, to hear one another. Sometimes they don't have to be. All members of the Blip-A were chosen because they had 'long-distance' choirs.

The canon events of PHM take place just outside of communication range of Erid. Rocky is too far from Adrian to sing with them- but beforehand the planet was warned that Space-Sickness was 100% totally a thing do not come out here unless you figure that out why people are dying in a horrific, slow, painful way.

This does change the trip back to Erid, because it's only about 18 months / 2 Years into the journey that Rocky and Adrian come back online to each other.

in soulsong au are grace and rocky speaking the same language? can they just Understand each other? when they meet in person will they have the language barrier?

Great question! No shared language, unfortunately, they're not physically able to make each others sounds. (Well, Rocky might be, but he wouldn't sound right).

If the crew met Rocky while still on earth, they would have no idea what the fuck that rocky was saying.

It's not a true understanding, not really. It's more like when your best friend raises an eyebrow at you and you know exactly what they're trying to convey in an instant. There is still going to be a faint language barrier, especially with Grace, but they're leagues better than slowly building an entire language database.

Yes, Ryland and Rocky talk about stupid stuff all the time. 98% of their conversations aren't about what they should be working on. They mostly (lovingly) antagonize each other.

Would you consider posting the soulsong comics on ao3? And would you be against someone writing a soulsong fic?

A couple of authors have already written some fic! If you want to throw your own hat into the ring and tag me in it ( @jube514 on ao3/main blog or @jube-art on tumblr) then I do try and do little doodle arts for it!

There is never enough cake, and I will gladly allow anybody to write/draw/ideate on this au with me. :)

I probably won't upload the comic itself onto ao3, as I try to keep my ao3 mostly for writing and this tumblr mostly for art.

@sirius-ate-my-homework-irl has a series on ao3! currently two fics strong.

@meatballlady also has a fic up and running! It's six chapters so far and i'm enjoying every one.
