Jude took pause to the spirit’s sudden inquiry on his feelings. He did appreciate the offer, but for a random spirit to suddenly start asking about this sort of thing… Maybe this was Milla’s way of getting him to open up more without her here? He had always been fairly reserved about his own emotions – at least, the negative ones. Ever since the fight with Alvin in Hamil, Jude had started taking on more of his emotions on his own so as not to burden anyone. Jude wanted to – no, needed to stay strong. He was a public figure now. People looked up to him for a lot of different things.
But… this spirit didn’t know that.
Jude mulled it over, before letting out a soft sigh and deciding why the heck not? It’s not like telling someone about Ludger would make things worse. “I was just… thinking about a friend.” Jude said, trying to word things carefully. He didn’t know how in tune this spirit was with human emotions, so it was best to start slow and see where the conversation went. “He… He passed away recently.”
The spirit waited patiently, after all, he had asked the other a something that was not easy to answer– especially for someone like himself. Jude opening up about such feelings to anyone was a rare sight, he never did it. The only times he did it was when he felt he was finally able to be truly honest with how he felt in that one moment– that he was allowed to be emotional and share those emotions. In this scenario, he was not sure if such a thing would even work. It never happened to him in his own life after all… But he was about to find out.
“A… friend?” no, Jude was no fool. This only confirmed his suspicions for where the youngers thoughts lay. However, he could not act like he knew what he was talking about– even though he did, as it would give too much away. Out of respect, he fell quiet for a moment when Jude mentioned they had passed away– Ludger, had passed away. Jude knew all too well how hard that was on him. Even now? Looking back? It still pained his heart.
Time could heal however… It became more manageable. “I see…” pausing, before adding the rest on. “Were you close to this… friend?”
Jude nodded in response to the spirit’s question, thinking back to the picture on his desk. “Yeah. Yeah I was.” Jude walked over and grabbed the picture in question, holding it up to him and giving it a soft sad smile. “He was one of the closest friends I had. He helped me a lot and...” Jude felt a lump start to form in his throat, and he stopped. He didn’t want to throw this spirit off. Jude thought it would be easier to talk about this but... maybe not.
“I’m sorry, I... give me a moment.”
